Chapter 9
The online chatter only began to simmer for a short while before Adrian immediately contacted me.
“Delete everything online. Who told you to file a lawsuit?”
“What else should I do? Keep arguing with you and let you keep slandering me?” Listening to him defend Yuna, I felt even more like the past fourteen years of our relationship had been a joke.
We had promised to be a loving couple, taking care of our home together.
But ever since he met Yuna, he started nitpicking everything about me, always siding with her when something happened.

It’s clear now–if you’re not loved, you’re destined to be mistreated.
Now that we’re divorced, filing a lawsuit is my legal right.
“Hazel, do you never want to see your son again?” Adrian brought up our son, trying to make me back down.
Unfortunately, it didn’t work anymore. “That ungrateful son, I don’t want him. You two can take care of him however you want.”
I hung up the phone immediately.
Half an hour later, Adrian called again, asking what it would take to settle.
I quickly gave him my terms: if I were to drop the lawsuit, he would have to pay me one

As the president of the Watson Group now, cleaning up the online rumors would be nothing for him.
“Hazel, do you think making money is easy? Asking me for one million just like that!” Adrian yelled angrily.
“If you can’t come up with a million, that’s fine. I’ll use legal means to protect my rights,” I said with a smile, not bothered at all.
“By the way, just a reminder–I used to be close with the famous lawyer now, so you don’t need to worry about me paying for legal fees. I’ve already promised that if I sue, I’ll give her half of whatever I gets in terms of emotional compensation.”
Hearing that, Adrian gritted his teeth and

agreed to pay me one million.
It wasn’t because he had suddenly become generous.
He knew that if I paid my lawyer this way, Elena could easily uncover anything as the lawsuit went through.
In the end, they would lose much more than just that one million.
After the payment went through, I gave Elena one–tenth as a thank–you fee and went back to tutoring.
I really liked Lumi.
During the day, I taught her various subjects, and at night, I enrolled in courses that were suitable for my own development.

Three years later, with the accumulation of knowledge and experience, I opened a prestigious tutoring center.
My target clients were the children of wealthy and influential families.
I had realized that these families shared a common issue: although they had plenty of money, many of their children struggled with psychological issues to some extent.
What I did was help these children, guiding them to find suitable friends and return to school with a better outlook.
Since Lumi was my first student, and under my guidance, she successfully transformed into a well–adjusted child and returned to school, the Grants were incredibly grateful. They introduced me to many others.

My tutoring center quickly attracted many students after it opened.
I paid close attention to each child, and those I took care of not only improved academically but also became more confident and cheerful.
Soon, my tutoring center became well–known within the wealthy circles, and I opened several branches.
With the business flourishing, I had become a successful business owner.
