Chapter 10
The next time I saw Adrian was four years later.
He came to my tutoring center with our son, hoping to find a teacher to take care of him.
When they saw that the owner was me, my son immediately grabbed my sleeve, “Mom, will you come take care of me?”
か
I shuddered and quickly pulled away.
“Hazy, this prestigious tutoring center is yours? It’s truly amazing,” Adrian said, full of excitement. “From now on, I’ll leave Noah in your care. I have a meeting, so I’ll leave now.”
“Adrian, the divorce agreement was clear. Noah is your responsibility, and I’ve already
settled his child support with the joint assets,” I replied calmly.
Adrian frowned, “What do you mean by that?”
“If
you want to stay, that’s fine, but you’ll need to pay the fees at the front desk,” I pointed to the counter, where the fees were listed clearly.
“You want me to pay for our son’s care?” He looked at me incredulously.
I simply replied, “If you don’t, I’ll call security.”
Reluctantly, Adrian went to pay.
Unlike most parents who would express concern when leaving their children, Adrian seemed eager to leave.

I overheard him on the phone with a younger woman, and it didn’t sound like Yuna.
It seemed that once a man cheated on you, it was never truly a one–time thing.
Before we had even arranged a place for Noah, Yuna arrived.
She had lost the grace and elegance she once had, now coming across as a worn–out housewife.
She caused a scene, demanding a refund for the tuition fees.
In my direction, the front desk processed the refund.
Yuna dragged Noah out, grumbling, “You ungrateful little brat. Your dad already shelled out a million for your school fees,

and now you’re throwing away another half a million here.”
“You think you’re worth all this? The Watsons‘ fortune will all go to my son, so who gave you permission to waste it this way?”
S
I watched them walk away–one was my son, the other, the mother he had been longing for. I was left speechless, unsure of what to say.

And Adrian’s fortune–could it really be handed over to Yuna’s child?
I smiled, not concerned with the Watsons‘ affairs.
That night, I flew from Birmingham to Jackson.

There, my new branch was about to open, and I was settling down there for good,
far away from anyone connected to the
Watsons.
