Chapter 9
I paused, my heart aching deeply.
“I’ll come back to see you often.”
“Will you and dad get back together?” he asked, holding my hand with tears in his eyes. “I hope you will. You used to love him so much.”
Yes, I once truly loved Ewen Wood.
But unfortunately, Ewen Wood let me down.
I gently released Demir Wood’s hand. “No, ! can’t be with your father anymore because I don’t love him.”
I flew back to Paris to attend the project completion ceremony.

The mall officially opened soon after and, as we expected, it became a global sensation.
People traveled from all over the world to visit.
“SU, you’re the most talented girl I’ve ever met, Smith said, kneeling on one knee at the celebration party. “Will you accept me now?”
“I’ve applied to work at the U.S.
headquarters. Wherever you go, I’ll follow.“”
That night, the stars were shining as brightly as my first night in Paris.
I smiled, nodded, and accepted his pursuit.
Six months later, I won the prestigious Red Dot Award as SU, the first time it was given to an independent designer.

Wearing a simple gown, I stood on the award stage, basking in the crowd’s applause.
“To win this award, I have to thank myself.”
“At the same time, I want to tell every woman, don’t underestimate yourself–if you are willing, you can achieve the highest and farthest stages on your own.”
A wave of enthusiastic applause erupted below.
I saw Smith sitting in the audience, clapping sincerely, tears shimmering in his eyes.
After the award ceremony, many companies extended offers, including Hardy Group.
But I insisted on running my own studio, not becoming a subsidiary of any company.

Smith supported my decision wholeheartedly. He left his prestigious position at Hardy Group to become my manager, leveraging his industry connections to secure top–tier projects worldwide.
Our studio quickly became one of the most renowned globally.
“My dear, I want the world to know your talent. You deserve the best.”
He never confined me to the kitchen or infatuation but lifted me high, letting me soar further.
“Smith, I’m so glad I met you.”
He embraced me warmly. “No, it’s you who gave me the opportunity to accompany a

genius to the top.”
“I love you. Will you marry me?”
What else could I say?
Of course, “I will.”
