Chapter 19
“What do you want!” Talia’s face was grave.
Clifford didn’t turn around, still gazing into the distance, his expression indiscernible. The room was quiet, the atmosphere oppressive.
After a while, Clifford spoke first. Thank you for taking care of me and being by my side when I was unconscious. But we are fundamentally different now.
Talia was a bit confused upon hearing this, pondering. So, had he seen through my identity? Calm down, Talia. Stay steady!
“How is it different?” she replied.
The man who had been facing away from her slowly turned around, Isis inscrutable eyes scanning her from head to toe. “It was you who woke me up, and I do owe you a favor. But in truth, there is no affection between us.”
By now, Talia had already guessed what he was about to say, which would be nothing more than they weren’t suitable, they had no feelings for each other, being together was inappropriate, and separation would be better for both of them–such clichéd lines.
“So what?” she retorted.
Clifford took a sip of wine from his glass, parting his mouth. “You’re just a poor college student with even a student loan. The disparity in our strengths is monumentally huge
Hearing this. Talia Blake could no longer remain calm. Just tell me what you want. I’m open to alternatives.”
“Even if you marry me and treat me well, you can’t force feelings.”
Humph.. So, he really intends to kick down the ladder. At most, I leave, but don’t even think about gening the engagement gift back. I fulfilled my duties a
as a wife, taking care of him wholeheartedly. I had done nothing wrong. Talia was ready to be kicked out, just waiting for him to speak.
Even though Clifford was very handsome, if he was a cold and callous person, she wouldn’t have the slightest bit of lingering affection for him.
There were plenty of fish in the sea, anyway
Clifford slowly put down his glass and looked at Talu
Her chubby checks looked slightly immature, her big eyes filled with the innocence typical of her age, twenty years old, a time of nave ignorance. And Clifford was already twenty–eight.
Talia must have been coerced and enticed by Grandpa to marry me at such a young age. How could a grown man bully a little girl Clifford thought unbeknownst to Talia.
“I will support you, take care of you, and pay for your education. If you encounter any trouble in the future, just mention my name, Oh, and I don’t want too many people to know about our relationship, he said.
“What?” Talia was stunned, unable to believe it
It turned out he wasn’t looking for an excuse to drive her away but was accepting her openly.
Her mood took a sudden turn, soaring from the depths of despair to the heights of ecstasy. She wore an expression of both joy and relief. I’m still in college, so it’s indeed not advisable to disclose our marriage. So, I will rely on your care from now on. It’s getting late. I’m going to take a bath.”
With that, Talia dashed to the bathroom, her face beaming the entire time.
When she emerged, the bedroom was empty, and the door to the study was slightly ajar.
Boldly approaching, she was about to peek in to ser wiss Clifford was doing when she accidentally overheard him on a phone call, and what he said left her utterly shocked.
“Focus your investigation on the whereabouts of Cipher Zero from now on, Clifford ordered.
Talia couldn’t hear what the other party said on the phone.
“She’s a
a woman, black, around a hundred pounds, about 5.5 feet tall, Clifford went on.
A short moment of silence reigned the room.
“What Cipher Zero is being hunted on the dark web?” Clifford’s voice tinged with a hint of shock.

This waited for Clifford to speak again.
“If possible, capture her alive.”
‘It seems he hadn’t recognized me yet. But why does he want to capture Cipher Zero alive? It seems I’ll have to be even more careful from now on Talia’s heart, which had just settled, was once again suspended.
In a flash, it was half
past eleven.
Seeing the study light was still on, Thin curiously went to take a look. “It’s almost eleven. Aren’t you coming to bedr
Clifford turned his head casually and saw Talia’s attire, lost in thought.
She wore a strap nightgown barely covering her long and creamy legs, walking boldly into the study.
A twenty–year–old girl, experiencing hormonal changes and the stirrings of youthful passion, naturally desires a man, Clifford thought.
“You want me to sleep with you?” he asked.
Talia blushed slightly. “We used to sleep together before”
Vague images from his comatose state flashed rapidly through Clifford’s mind. Not only did she have the desires, but she had the boldness. Every inch of his body had been seen and touched by her. Being taken advantage of by a young girl the feeling was indescribable…
“You go to sleep first. I’m going to take a bath,” he said.
As they brushed past each other, Talia’s lips curved into a meaningful sneer.
She had thought it through. “My status and financial situation do not match those of Clifford. Although he promised to support me and pay for my education, there’s no guarantee he might suddenly change his mind and kick me out.
I have no backing, no way to resist. Instead of living in constant fear, why not seize the opportunity, exploit this man fully, and make the most of it! When bragging to others in the future, I can proudly say, ‘I slept with that mant”
Lying on the soft, large bed, she was ready for the upcoming passionate sex.
When the clock struck midnight, the bathroom door opened, and soon, the mattress beside her sank
With a click, the light went out.
Then….the man beside Talia began to breathe evenly, and that was it.
No passionate kiss, no warm embrace as expected… Talia didn’t lose heart.
As long as one party took the initiative, there would always be a story.
She took the initiative, whispering in his cars, “Clifford, are you up!”
Three seconds later, the man asked, lying still and keeping a distance from Talia. “What’s the matter?”
“I feel a bit cold.
The hint was glaringly obvious.
With his tall and perfect physique, failing to make use of it was truly a waste, Talia thought
The dimly lit room remained silent for a good ten seconds.
Without getting a response from Clifford, Talia moyed closer to him, about to hug his arm and take the first step.
But Clifford suddenly stood up and went straight to the wardrolie,
Shortly after, be returned with a long–sleeved cotton nightgown for Talia. “Put
it this on, and you won’t feel cold.”
Talia stared blankly at the nightgown in her hands, her mind racing with thoughts. Clifford is definitely normal, as I had personally experienced before. Could it be that I’m not charming enough to attract him? That can’t be. When I was on missions in the past, no man didn’t lose his mind and even his life from my seduction.

“It’s uncomfortable. I’d rather not wear it. Your body is warmer than mine. Let me hold you while we sleep so I won’t feel cold. Without waiting for his agreement, Talia directly grabbed Clifford’s arm and hooked one of her legs around his body.
