Chapter 3
I scooped up my sobbing son and walked out of the banquet hall, head held high.
No regrets. Not anymore.
I caught Sebastian trying to follow us from the corner of my eye, but Nova’s manicured hand gripped his arm, holding him back.
Soon, Sebastian’s laughter echoed from the hall, mingling with
the others‘ voices.
As my son and I walked through the bitter winter night, the cold wasn’t just in the air—it had seeped into our hearts.
Six days. I only needed to wait six more days.
Soon enough, the announcement echoed through Silver Wing Pack: Nova would soon become Sebastian’s Luna, and their child would be the future Alpha heir.
Robert and I were in our tiny Omega dorm room when the broadcast came, forcing down bland potato soup.
Sebastian pushed open the door and walked in wearily. “Aurora, you need to understand. Nova holds half the power in the Silver Wing Pack. Everything we’ve built, everything we have–I need to keep it stable. This is the only way.”

“Oh, really?” I just coldly sipped my potato soup. “I see.”
Lucky Draw
“Aurora,” he knelt on one knee before me apologetically, for a moment resembling the young man who had saved me years ago. “You know you’re the only one I love.
“Remember how brutal the Rouge Wasteland was? I couldn’t bear the thought of you and Robert living in some broken–down shack, wondering where your next meal would come from…”
His eyes glistened with tears as he leaned in to kiss me. “Just give me more time. Once I have complete control of Silver Wing, I’ll make everything right. I promise.”
He’d fed me the same lies three years ago.
Now, he was the undisputed Alpha of Silver Wing Pack- powerful, respected, feared. He thought I didn’t know how much influence he truly wielded. But I did. I saw everything.
He just kept wanting more. More power. More control.
That sweet young man I’d fallen for had transformed into something dark and twisted. A monster wearing his face.
“Whatever.” I dodged his kiss, not wanting to say anything
more.
My wolf, Tina, howled in my mind. He makes me sick!

Sebastian became flustered and tried to get close to me again.
But I firmly pushed him away.
He tried to comfort Robert, but Robert remained silent.
Over the next few days, Sebastian tried many ways to make it up to us. He even made an exception and gave Robert and me time off.
We both ignored him.
But then he showed up at our dorm room with a suit of armor, and Robert’s resolve finally wavered.
“Had this specially made for you, buddy,” Sebastian said warmly. “You’ve always wanted to watch the warriors train, right? How about we head to the training grounds now?”
Robert looked at me pleadingly—this had always been his dream.
Three days left.
Just three more days until we could leave. I didn’t want anything to go wrong.
But looking into my son’s hopeful eyes, I couldn’t bring myself to
say no.

Finally, I nodded,

I never expected to run into Nova and Victoria here.
“Oh Sebastian, you’re so thoughtful,” Nova purred, immediately wrapping herself around him. “Victoria was dying to see the training grounds, and you made it happen. But…” she cast a disapproving glance at my son, “should Robert really be here? He’s so… fragile. I’d hate for him to get hurt among all these
warriors.”
Sebastian gently kissed her cheek. “Victoria needs a training partner, and Robert is the perfect choice.”
I let out a desperate, cold laugh. Of course. Nothing was ever “specially made” for us. Robert and I were just background characters to him.
A heartbreaking look of disappointment flashed through Robert’s bright blue eyes.
On the training field, three elite warriors surrounded Victoria protectively, while Robert only had one elderly guard who could barely keep up.
“Bastard, you’re a bastard!” Victoria’s small fists kept hitting Robert.
When Robert tried to fight back, the three strong warriors firmly held him down.

“This isn’t fair!” I tried to rush forward to save Robert.

Sebastian stopped me, “Don’t worry, this is normal training.”
“But Robert is already hurt! He’s our son!” I angrily accused him.
Why, why had Sebastian become like this?
Victoria’s sharp armor had left countless cuts on Robert’s small body, leaving him covered in blood.
Sebastian shoved a glass of ice water at me, his eyes hard. “Nothing’s going to happen to him while I’m around! You need to stop coddling Robert–you’re making him weak!”
“Coddling? You’re the one coddling Victoria! You’re letting her beat my son to death!” I snarled, feeling Tina–my wolf–stirring inside me. White fur rippled across my skin as she howled in
rage.
Ever since I’d filed for the mate bond dissolution with the Council, I’d been working to reconnect with Tina. She’d been reluctant, uncertain… until now.
Seeing our son in danger had snapped something in both of us. Now we were one again.
With Tina awakened as a Lycan wolf, we would be untouchable.

Not a single wolf in this pack could come close to my power.
Suddenly, a cry rang out from the training grounds.
Then Victoria fell to the ground crying.
“Daddy… Robert hit me!” She called Sebastian ‘daddy.‘
Sebastian didn’t deny it, just rushed over in panic.
“Daddy look, he bit my finger and it’s bleeding.” Victoria held up her pinky, showing tiny drops of blood.
Sebastian turned to Robert in anger. “How dare you hit her?”
Robert cried, blood mixing with his tears. “She hit me first!”
“Victoria is a little girl, how could she possibly hurt you?” Sebastian cradled Victoria protectively, completely blind to the injuries covering my son’s face and arms.
I ran to Robert, scooping him into my arms. He buried his face in my neck, his whole body shaking. “Mommy, I swear she hit me first. She did…”
“I know, baby. I know,” I whispered, my own tears falling as I held him closer. “I believe you.”
Robert’s blood soaked through my white maid’s uniform as his tiny body grew limp in my arms.

“Someone get a doctor!” I screamed, panic clawing at my chest. “Please, I need a doctor!”
But no one moved to help.
Sebastian cradled Victoria in his arms before shifting into his massive silver wolf form, howling as he rushed to the Pack hospital.
Alert all healers! Luna Victoria is injured—prepare for emergency treatment!
My blood turned ice–cold, bit by bit.
I struggled to carry Robert toward the hospital.
Just as we stepped through the hospital entrance, Sebastian rushed out.
He grabbed Robert from my arms the moment he saw us.
I thought he’d at least ask if our son was okay.
Instead, Sebastian’s words made my blood run cold. “Victoria has werewolf sepsis. She needs a transfusion, and Robert’s blood type matches.”
“Are you insane?” I fought back, desperate to protect my baby. “Robert’s already lost too much blood! The transfusion will kill

him!”

no, I mean,
Robert burst into tears, trembling in fear. “Dad… Uncle… please… I promise I won’t call you Dad anymore, and I won’t fight with Victoria, just please don’t make me give blood…”
“Be good, Robert,” Sebastian held me back with his wolf claws while trying to comfort Robert. “Daddy loves you. But we’re boys, and boys don’t cry, understand?”
Then he rushed into the hospital room.
I howled, pounding on the operating room door.
Robert’s cries came from inside, “Mom, help me… Mom, help me…”
They were getting weaker and weaker…
Tina, I need you! Please!
I could feel her fighting to emerge, struggling against years of dormancy. But she was too weak–her long slumber had left her drained.
Together, we managed to summon only a pitiful layer of white wolf fur, nowhere near a full transformation. She was still too weak to take control.

Through the operating room doors, I heard a nurse call out, “Blood transfusion complete. The donor’s passed out from blood loss.”
I clawed at the iron door, desperate to reach my son.
But a pair of red high heels appeared before me. Nova blocked my path and said in a low, sympathetic voice, “It’s useless. The little bastard’s probably already dead.”
A feral growl ripped from my throat as rage consumed me.
The overwhelming fury and grief jolted Tina completely awake from her slumber, and for the first time in years, my wolf surged forward, taking full control.
We lunged at Nova, our massive wolf paw striking her face, sharp fangs tearing into her body.
No one could stand against the raw power of a White Lycan.
Nova let out a desperate cry of pain as blood appeared on her body. Pure terror filled her eyes.
But more than fear, there was shock written all over her face. She couldn’t believe that the rogue she’d always looked down on, the one she’d bullied for years, could possess such devastating power.
“No… no… this is impossible!”

Overwhelmed by fear and pain, she passed out.

My body, weakened from years without my wolf’s power, couldn’t handle Tina’s sudden emergence. The surge of Lycan energy was too much, and everything went black.
But before darkness took me, I caught one last satisfying glimpse of Nova–bloody, beaten, and finally stripped of her perfect
composure.
When I woke up, Robert was by my side.
His thin face was completely pale, and he struggled to breathe as he held my hand. “Mom… I want to leave. Can we?”
“Of course, we’ll leave right away. I’m sorry, Robert. I failed to protect you. From now on, I won’t let anyone hurt you again.”
I held Robert close, unable to hold back my tears.
Just then, I received a message from the Werewolf Council.
Just then, my phone lit up with a message from the Werewolf Council.
“Ms. Hilton, your petition to dissolve the mate bond has been approved. Effective immediately, your mate bond with Alpha

Tears overwhelmed me–tears of joy.

I took Robert and fled the Silver Wing Pack as fast as I could.
At the same time, I mindlinked Sebastian one last time.
“I, Aurora Hilton, reject you, Sebastian Mercer, as my mate!”
