Chapter 4
My rejection reached Sebastian through our last mindlink.
He was standing by Nova’s hospital bed at the time, anxiously asking the healer about her condition.
Suddenly, his heart felt like it was being torn apart, and the panic of being rejected overwhelmed him.
His wolf Gabriel let out a painful howl as their body curled up in
agony.
“No, this can’t be…” Sebastian couldn’t believe it.
He was convinced something must be wrong.
“Aurora loves me so much, and besides, how would she even survive out there as a worthless rogue without my protection?”
He struggled to his feet, fighting through the pain with his Alpha willpower, and ran toward the Omega dorm.
“Aurora, have you lost your mind? Do you know what’s keeping you alive right now? You’re being insane—all this just because you don’t want to face what you did to Nova?”
He kicked open my tiny room’s door, his voice thundering through the space. “Stop hiding! Get out here and apologize to Nova, and I’ll forget this ever happened!”

But after searching every corner, he still couldn’t find Robert or me anywhere.
Everything in the room remained untouched—I hadn’t even taken any clothes.
He convinced himself we were just hiding, until he received the email from the Werewolf Council.
When he saw our bond had been officially dissolved, he broke down.
Sebastian ordered everyone in the Silver Wing Pack to find me, no matter how much time or effort it took.
Meanwhile, in the civilized western territories…
When Robert and I finally returned to the Kingdom, my father and our people welcomed us home with open arms.
He apologized for his stubbornness before, heartbroken at all I’d endured. I told him not to blame himself–these were my choices, my mistakes.
But now I was home. This was my fresh start.
I would be the daughter my father deserved, help rule our kingdom, and everything would be different this time.

My father wasted no time announcing me as the future Lycan Queen, throwing an extravagant coronation ceremony to make it official.
During the ceremony, whispers drifted through the crowd.
“Did you hear?” one woman murmured to another. “Alpha Sebastian couldn’t make it because he’s still recovering. They say he collapsed last month—the worst pain anyone’s ever seen him in. Word is his mate, that rogue girl, broke their bond by force.”
“Really, it’s true. Sebastian’s been acting crazy lately, searching everywhere for a woman named Aurora.”
“Aurora? If I remember correctly, that’s also the name of our future Queen.”
In the end, everyone dismissed it as a coincidence. After all, who would connect a poor, lowly rogue with the noble future Lycan Queen?
My witch shuffled over, her eyes twinkling with mischief. She’d always been a nosy old thing.
“Oh darling,” Grace cackled, dangling her moonstone. “You won’t believe the drama I’ve caught from Silver Wing Pack. Want to see what your old friends are doing?”
I smiled at her theatrics. “Drop the mysterious act, Grace. We both know Dad’s network covers every pack in existence, What,

did he plant spies there?”
Grace waved her hand, the moonstone glowing softly. “All you need to know is that it’s all recorded here. The Moon Goddess herself made sure you’d see this.”
Then she quickly sent me several videos on her phone before mysteriously disappearing around the corner in her black cloak.
I held my phone, lost in thought.
Robert came over, wearing his nice little suit–all custom–made by Dad, who had also bought him many expensive toys.
“Mom, what’s the witch telling you? Have you heard from Uncle?” Robert’s face lit up with a confident, proud smile. “We shouldn’t pay attention to him anymore. I’ll tell Grace to stop bothering you all the time.”
My little knight, after Donovan gave him all the glory the Golden Moon Kingdom had to offer, swore to use his power to protect me better. Over the past month, he studied combat, witchcraft, werewolf medicine, Golden Moon history and culture… even nutrition courses.
His once frail body had grown healthy and strong, thanks to the special nutritionist Dad hired.
I gently tapped his nose. “Don’t worry, my little knight. I won’t care about any of that. We have a new life now, don’t we?”

Robert happily kissed my cheek, then ran off with his toy sword -his friends were waiting for him, all healthy and kind noble children of the Kingdom.
I put away my phone, not bothering to watch those videos.
The party continued in full swing. After five years of living in shadows, being treated like nothing, this grand party thrown just for me felt surreal.
For the first time in so long, I felt what it was like to be cherished again.
The alcohol was also having a strong effect, and I wanted to rest for a while in my private lounge on the third floor.
Just as I stepped out of the elevator, I saw a handsome gentleman giving instructions to some Omega maids.
He was tall, with striking golden hair.
Even from behind, there was no mistaking that regal bearing. He carried himself with the kind of innate grace that marked him as anything but an ordinary wolf.
“Have everything prepared before Aurora arrives,” he ordered, his deep voice stirring something in my memory.
I froze. That voice… why did it sound so familiar?
