Chapter 10
A hush fell over the crowd as I suddenly rose to my feet, the iris–shaped mark on my forehead pulsing with energy.
A sharp gasp broke the silence.
“Witch! A new witch!”
Before the shock could spread, a chorus of howls echoed from the surrounding mountains–Rogues!
Gabriel and I *locked eyes for a split second before we took off, moving in perfect synchrony.
With
swift, powerful strides, we launched ourselves up the hillside, our figures cutting through the moonlight.
The purple fire* in my palm blazed to life, crackling with power as I chanted a spell. The magic struck the Rogues without mercy.
One by one, they fell.
The Pack, led by Gabriel, fought like warriors born for battle. Our enemies‘ wails tore through the night, only to be swallowed by silence.
The fight was over.
As I turned back toward the battlefield, Elsa’s terrified gaze met mine.
She tried to flee–but my spell held her in place.
A slow, dangerous smile* curved my lips.
H
“Elsa,” I murmured, stepping toward her. “You conspired with the Rogues. Did you really think you’d escape unscathed?”
She trembled, but no words left her lips.
Her fate was sealed.
With the battle won, the Pack banished Elsa for her betrayal.
As for Andrew–he could no longer transform. Stripped of his power, he was demoted from Alpha to Omega.
No one followed a leader who couldn’t shift.
Gabriel, standing tall at my side. placed his hand over mine.
With my divination guiding him, he stepped into his rightful place–As the new Alpha.
Not long after the battle, Tanya passed away.
Her time had come, and with it, my own fate was sealed.
The iris marks on my shoulders were now complete.
On a rare sunny day, we buried her beneath the willow trees she had once tended.
Gabriel held me close, his voice a whisper in my car.
“Andrew wants to see you.”
I nodded, prepared to go–but Gabriel’s arms tightened around me.
His eyes darkened, filled with unspoken worry.
“You’re not going to leave me for him, are you?”
A soft chuckle escaped my lips. I reached up, pulling his face toward mine for a lingering kiss.
“Let’s go.” I murmured. “Together.”
Andrew had moved out of the Alpha’s residence.
Now, he lived in the same damp, rotting Omega quarters where I had once been cast aside.
The stench of mold and decay clung to the air.
I refused to step inside.
Gabriel stood beside me, his gaze unreadable as he looked at the man who had once ruled this Pack.
At the sound of our arrival, Andrew stirred.
Slowly, he lifted his head.
His gaze found mine–and for a moment, I saw something familiar.
The same soft longing that once made my heart flutter.
The same look he used to give me when I loved him most.
“Why did you want to see me?” I asked, my voice void of warmth.
Andrew swallowed hard.
“Do you… really not love me anymore?” His voice cracked. “You used to care about me so much.”
I let out a breath, raising a hand to cut him off.
“Andrew, what makes you think I ever could?”
His face fell.
Did he believe I’d forget how he pushed me aside for Elsa?
Did he think I’d forgive how he humiliated me, chose her, and threw me away like I was nothing?
Now, standing in the filth he had left me in–he regretted it?
Too late.
Andrew had never loved me.
Not truly.
If he had, he would have chosen Elsa even now–stood beside her despite her disgrace.
But he hadn’t.
Even his so–called love was shallow. A nostalgic yearning for what he lost.
In the end, he only ever loved himself.
Seeing the cold amusement in my gaze, Andrew’s shoulders shook.
He pressed a hand to his face, as if to shield himself from my contempt.
His voice was raw. “I know I was wrong before. But Elisabeth, can’t you give me another chance? We were good together…”
I leaned into Gabriel, letting his steady warmth seep into me.
His arms wrapped around me in silent possession.
“No.”
Andrew’s hope shattered.
His body went rigid as the truth settled in.
“However-” I added lightly, “we’ll be sure to invite you to our wedding.”
That was the moment I saw the last piece of him break.
Andrew collapsed onto his knees, his spirit crushed.
He did not move again.
I didn’t see Andrew after that.
Not until my wedding.
Gabriel and I chose the Moonlight Ceremony–the holiest night in our Pack–to bind our souls as one.
As the silver light bathed us, the Pack erupted into cheers.
Flowers rained down from the sky, their delicate fragrance filling the air.
I smiled as Gabriel’s golden gaze burned into me.
There was nothing in his eyes but adoration. Possession. Love.
Unable to resist, I rushed into his arms.
He caught me effortlessly, tilting my chin up.
And in front of our Pack, our future, our world–He kissed me.
The kind of kiss that sealed fates, carved legends, and made the stars tremble.
From that moment forward–I knew what happiness truly was.
