On the wedding day, Lucas wore a custom–made suit and led a motorcade of twenty luxury cars grandly towards B City Airport.
This was the first time he had ever prepared something so seriously for me, but it was too late.
He paced back and forth in the VIP lounge, but couldn’t see my figure.
Suddenly, his assistant rushed in, pale–faced:
“It’s terrible! Miss Shaw’s private plane has crashed!”
The news push on his phone stung his eyes.

He stared at the last boarding photo I had sent him, his eyes bloodshot, his ears buzzing.
The next second, he collapsed heavily to the ground.

“She died in a plane crash. They can’t even find her remains! I heard her mother fainted while holding her belongings!”
Lucas instantly lost all strength, collapsing to the ground.
Rachel cautiously approached him:
“Lucas, this is all fate. It’s heaven making her give way to true love.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll definitely be a good Mrs. Carter!”
Mrs. Carter suddenly pushed open the door, slapping Rachel hard across the face:

She choked, pointing at Lucas:

“Your father’s illness has relapsed. I have to go take care of him. The Carter Group is in your hands now!”
With that, she turned to leave.

Lucas returned to our villa in a daze.
