Ben’s face didn’t change as he picked up the divorce agreement, took out a pen and gave it
to Mark.
“Sign it.”
Mark asked, “Uncle Ben?”

“We’re not related by blood, there’s no need to
call me ‘Uncle‘.”
“Sign it or the Harrison family will cut you off.”
Mark finally panicked.
He stopped arguing about the property and signed the document.
I let out a sigh, grabbed the divorce agreement and put it in my bag.
I was about to thank Ben when I caught his
gaze.
“Chloe, I’ll go with you to get his records
restored, and get the divorce papers.”
I was taken aback. “Okay.”
“Don’t say no. If I’m not there, he’ll try to con
you out of a divorce.”

I thought about it, and agreed. “Okay, that
makes sense.”
I thanked the quests, and Jamie refused to leave. She stayed by Mark’s side.
I didn’t care. I got into Ben’s car and headed to
the courthouse.
The clerk laughed, “What, back again today? What a day.”
“We found Mark, and now we’re here to restore his records.”
“I knew you’d find him! Congratulations!”
I nodded, but said nothing
Mark stopped me as I was leaving.
“Chloe, I really do love you.”

“I was drunk at Jamie’s, I thought she was
you…”
I rolled my eyes. “Just stop. You’re disgusting.”

Once I got the divorce papers, I went to the sidewalk to get a cab.
Ben pulled up. “Where are you going? I’ll drive you.”
I looked at him, and pointed out the obvious: “Ben, I’m divorced now.”
“And so?”
“So, we’re basically strangers. There’s no
reason for us to interact.”
Ben took off his sunglasses and revealed the
most charming eves I had ever seen

“Chloe, I helped you get divorced. It’s not very
nice to cut me off.”
I was on guard.
He shrugged, changing his tone.
“Ms. Henderson, let’s talk business.”
“Now that you own the company outright, I’d
love to do a deal with you.”
I was tempted.
Harrison Enterprises was massive. A deal would
be great for my company.
I got in the car.
“Why does my having the company have to do
with this deal?”
