Elizabeth shot a quick glance at Natalia and gave a small smile. “So, you finally wrapped up filming? Grandma’s been under the weather lately. Do you think you could spend some more time with her?” She plopped down next to Natalia.
Natalia never really liked Elizabeth, mostly because she thought Elizabeth was prettier. And now, with Elizabeth sitting right next to her, she was instantly annoyed.
“Dad, can we switch seats?” she asked Charles, who was sitting beside her.
Charles frowned. “You haven’t seen Elizabeth in ages. Just chat with her! Don’t lose your temper with your family.” He knew
Natalia’s temper all too well and always tried to get her to change.
But bad habits died hard, and good ones were tough to pick up.
Natalia couldn’t switch seats, and Elizabeth chuckled. “Why do you seem so scared of me? The moment I show up, you want to bolt. Worried sitting next to me will make you look less pretty?” She raised an eyebrow and took a sip of water.
Elizabeth had nailed Natalia’s insecurities.
Natalia snapped. “I’m not! Stop being so full of yourself. Everyone online says I’m the top beauty!”
“Okay,” Elizabeth hodded, dropping the subject.
Natalia felt a pang of guilt. After all, Elizabeth knew Lila, the real top beauty!
Elizabeth’s simple “Okay” really got under Natalia’s skin–it felt so dismissive!
“Dad, Natalia called out to her father again.
Elizabeth was really over it, thinking how Natalia always ran to Charles whenever she got upset.
Charles’s life used to be pretty chill, but Natalia brought a lot of drama into it.
Elizabeth shook her head and then looked over at Celine.
Grant was feeding Celine, and Celine seemed so calm that Elizabeth wondered if she was just faking it.
“Is the research institute still keeping you busy?” Charles changed the topic.
Elizabeth nodded. “Yeah, but I’m getting the hang of it.”
Though Blair, who Sheldon brought in, was a bit of a pain.
“Why’d you leave your good job as a doctor to run the research institute? You must be swamped,” Natalia mocked from the side.
Elizabeth was irritated. “I’m very capable. After this research, I’ve got other plans. My life’s gonna be way more exciting than yours. Why don’t you quit acting and join me?”
Natalia scoffed. She looked down on Elizabeth the most. No way she work with her.
“No thanks, my life’s just fine! As long as she kept her cool, she’d eventually become a superstar!
But she couldn’t help herself. Her online rep just wouldn’t improve. Maybe she just needed a break.

“But I heard while I was filming that you got divorced?” Natalia asked, clearly trying to provoke her.
Elizabeth shot Natalia a cold look.
“Looks like your so–called perfect marriage didn’t work out,” Natalia sneered.
Everyone at the table could hear the tension.
Rose didn’t want to hear Natalia mock Elizabeth’s marriage, so she cut in, “Let’s just eat.”
“What’s wrong? Am I wrong?” Natalia immediately asked Rose.
Rose stayed silent.
Natalia then laughed. “Even if my words sting, it’s the truth. Elizabeth is now a divorced woman.”
Elizabeth’s grip tightened on her utensils, then she looked at Natalia. “So what if I’m divorced? Is that supposed to be shameful?”
