Chapter 47 She’s Pregnant?
It was unclear how much time had passed when the nurse from the emergency room came out, calling out names as she walked.
“Is Evelyn Valence’s husband here?”
Christopher stepped forward and said, “Doctor, I’m here.”
A few simple words pierced through my heart like a knife, causing unbearable pain.
And all my waiting throughout the day, along with the decision I struggled to make, turned into a joke at this moment.
I stood there at that moment, feeling like an outsider.
We still need to complete the divorce procedures, and my husband has already become someone else’s husband.

I sighed and said, “So when are you coming back? Are you going to the concert tomorrow night?”
I looked up at the ceiling, letting the tears flow. “Okay, then I’ll wait for you.”

When I left the hospital, the sky had already turned pitch black.
It has rained several times recently, and the night wind has been particularly chilly.
I was wearing a thin, knitted maxi dress, but I felt no cold at all because my mood was particularly low.
Suddenly, someone ran into me head–on and quickly ran into the hospital.

here?”
I hadn’t seen Cecil in a long time.
He was wearing a beige leisure suit, which made him look very elegant.
He smiled lightly and said, “I have a friend who is in the hospital, so I came to visit him.”
“All right.”
“And you? Why did you come to the hospital alone?”
I raised the checklist in my hand and said, “I’m here to pick up my medical examination report.”
Cecil’s face turned serious. “Is anything okay?”
“Yes.”
My last company physical examination was just checked, and it was the same as the previous time; everything was in the normal range, except for the extra baby in the belly.
Cecil nodded, “You haven’t eaten yet, have you? Shall we grab a meal together?”

“Ivan and Elissa were also there,” he added, possibly afraid that I would feel embarrassed.
I touched my belly and, indeed, felt a bit hungry. “Okay,” I replied.
If I went back, I would have to figure out what to eat. Plus, Ivan and Elissa were all there, so I didn’t think too much about it.
Cecil asked the assistant to bring the car back, and then we took my car to the restaurant that they had booked.

The restaurant’s location was very remote, yet it had a lot of customers.
Many cars were parked tightly outside the restaurant, causing a severe traffic jam.
We could only park the car outside and walk in. Elissa and Ivan had already arrived.

“I happened to run into Cecil.”

“What happened again?” Ivan said helplessly.
Elissa held my hand and asked Ivan directly, “Do you know about Evelyn’s pregnancy?”
“Is Evelyn pregnant?” Ivan asked in surprise. It took him a while to calm down before he said, “I have no idea!”
“Did you invite Christopher today? Elissa asked.
“Ifdeed.”
“Where is him?”
Ivan hung his head, not looking at Elissa and me. Finally, he is threatened by Elissa and says, “Evelyn was attempting suicide due to
rumors at the company, so…”
“She cut her wrist,” I interrupted him.
Elissa sneered. “The type that heals in three minutes without going to the hospital.”
I remembered Christopher covered in blood, saying. Her wound mit be quite deep. She has lost a lot of blood.”
