JESSIE: Oops my bad, oh well. But I still wonder who his mate is, I know they said he found her, and she is underage, but who is she, is the question, not that it’s any of my business, but curiosity and all. We stayed in the pool until it was time to get ready for dinner, everyone got out and went to their rooms to change and get cleaned up, and came back down to the evening meal.
LIAM: I link Kes. “Mackie won the darts tournament.” “Good I’m glad, how was Jessie?” “Oh, she was pissed, but she didn’t make a scene.” “That’s good, maybe she is learning after all.” “I doubt it, but I just hope that after tonight she will be gone, and you can come back. Oh, and by the way, I am still going to insist on the blood oath, just so that you don’t get to comfortable and think I fore got about it.” “Liam, we have discussed this when you are 18.” “Nope, when you come back, I don’t care, and I’m not going to stop bugging you about it.” “Are you going to stay up for the run tonight?” She asked changing the subject on me. I knew what she did and that’s ok. “No. I’m going to leave that for the 18+ I am going to be in my bed hopefully fast asleep.” “Have you done any practicing with the bow at all?” “No to that as well, I’ve been running the tournaments, and I even recruited Lissa to help with them, but I had to tell her a secret to get her to fully commit.” “And what secret did you tell her?” “That Trever was your mate, and that Dutch was Mackie’s mate. She will keep her mouth shut, so Jessie doesn’t find out.” “LIAM.” “Ha ha ha.” I laugh at her and close the link.
MACKIE: I head to the kitchen to help with dinner prep, after one game of the volleyball. The guys get out of the pool with me, and we all head to our perspective rooms to get cleaned up. I start to set out the warming plates and the cold containers in the marquee. I then go talk to Sarah. “After dinner is done tonight I will take the leftovers over to the orphanage.” “Alright dear.” “Thanks Sarah.” “Welcome.” I then continue to help with dinner prep, until it’s time to serve, then I head into the marquee to check and make sure all the hot plates and warming dishes are in the right place. I duck back into the kitchen. “Sarah do you need me to help serve?” I asked her. “No dear, go out and eat with everyone else, we got the kitchen under control.” She tell me. So, I head out to go find Dutch and Trever. “Hey guys, are you going to join the run tonight?” I ask them. “Nope, Barrett and Trent will be joining it, so Dutch and I won’t have to, so we will head to the cabin when they make the announcement after dinner that everyone should take a rest as the run will happen at midnight.” Trever says. “After dinner tonight I am going to take the leftovers to the orphanage, so you can either come with or please wait for me.” “Of course we will come with you, love I’m not letting you go by yourself.” Dutch says to me. I just smile at him, and we all go get in line for the dinner service.
DRAKE: I watched the marquee fill with our guest and once most of them were settled after getting their dinner I go up to the mic. “excuse me, your attention please. There will be a pack run after midnight tonight, as that will be when James and Jessie will have their first shift, and will mark their 18th birthday, you all are welcome to join in the run, we will be headed down towards the lake for tonight’s run. Feel free to take a rest after dinner to be prepared for the run. Thank you.” I turn the mic off and return to my table.
MACKIE: After dinner, I help collect the dishes and get them into the kitchen, both Dutch and Trever help. I gather the leftovers that Sarah has set aside for me to take to the orphanage, and head out. Both Dutch and Trever accompany me. Halfway there I hear my name being called. I look around and I see Seth standing in the shadows of a building. “What do you want Seth, and you might as well step out of the shadows.” I say. And hear a low growl coming from Dutch. I put my hand on his arm to calm him. “Do you know where Kes is? She’s not answering my calls.” “Maybe because you got a new number and never gave it to her, and we got new phones for her birthday, so she got a new number. Might have something to do with it.” I say to him. “She’s blocking me, too.” “No, it’s because she got sent to Burning Ember Pack, thanks to Jessie, so she isn’t even on Pack territory right now.” “When will she be back? I really need to talk to her.” “Why? Are you missing the alpha connection? You should have thought of that when you left us stranded that night at the dojo, because you were too busy screwing Jessie, or when you got Betsy bullied by Jessie in the first place, or when you decided it was cool to spray gravel at me, and where were you when she got stabbed? You never came to the Pack house to see her. These were your choices Seth no one’s but yours. But I am not going to promise you anything.” “When you talk to her tonight?” “Yes Seth, I call her at least twice a day, so I will be calling her tonight.” “Ok. Thanks.” He sounded so dejected, with his hands in his pockets and his head low as he walks away. “Who was that?” Dutch asked me. “I was about ready to tear him apart.” “You and me both buddy.” Trever said. “Just someone we thought was our friend, until he decided that screwing Jessie was more important than his friends.” I tell them. “Let’s go, we have food to deliver.” I say. And we continue to the orphanage.
LIAM: I miss Kes. I know she’s at the cabin, and I want to go so bad. I am going to go ask dad if I can go tonight, since everyone will be going toward the Lake no one will be the wiser if I went to the cabin. I link him. *“Dad, can I go to the cabin tonight please?” “Don’t you want to see your brother and sister shift?” “Yes, but I can’t go on the run, so I want to go to the cabin, no one is going to miss me at the end of the run, all their attention will be on James and Jessie to even notice that I’m not there, I can say that I’m going back to bed, and let others pass it on.” “Fine, but don’t get caught.” “I will do my very best.”* I close the link.
