Chapter 212
KESKA: I watch as Trever goes over to the DJ booth, he has a short conversation with the DJ and comes back to the table. “What did you talk to him about?” I asked him. “Don’t worry you’ll soon know.” He says. I scowl at him. Then the DJ says, “we’re going to slow things down a bit and give the mates another go on the floor, to snuggle.” I just look at Trever. “What, don’t look at me, I didn’t do anything.” He says while trying not to smile. I shake my head at him. The song starts and Trever pulls me onto the dance floor to “Lady.” by Styx. Again, I wrap my arms around him, and we sway to the music. Then the music goes right into Africa by Toto and You Take My Breath Away by Rex Smith all, slow songs. And a crazy eclectic mix of songs, but I knew them all, and I think that was the point, he wanted to dance with me to what I knew. And we did. Mackie and Dutch were on the dance floor as well, but they danced to more than we did, as Mackie knows more of the newer stuff than I do. Then after the three slow songs, the DJ played Sleep when I’m dead by Bon Jovi, and I grabbed Trever as he was going to leave the floor and shook my head at him and we danced to Bon Jovi, and then Pour Some Sugar on Me by Def Leppard, this was my kind of stuff, this is what I knew, and we danced to it.
JAMES: I was enjoying the evening, after the whole Mimi fiasco. The dance was fun, but I just wanted it all to be over. There was a lot coming down the wire, Wyatt and I needed to finish our two months with Mr. Rickman, we still haven’t heard back from the committee if Janica could join Alpha training with me or not, and now this possible war with Stone Claw, it just feels like there’s a lot to do and not enough time fore everything to get it done in, I guess part of that is because with war it doesn’t happen on your time, it happens on the aggressors time, and they don’t care if your.ready or not, they would rather you not be ready, makes it easier for them. But we will be ready for them, every pack here will be training extra hard and trading warriors and trainers so that every pack can better defend themselves. Yes all of this was going through my mind, along with taking my mate up to my room and ravishing her thoroughly, but that couldn’t happen yet, as this dance was in honor of mine and Jessie’s 18th birthday, so I couldn’t leave until late, closer to midnight. Right now, watching Kes and Trever dance, at least she will have peace now. “What’s on your mind?” Janica asked. “A lot of stuff, but mainly Kes will have peace now.” I I am say nodding in her direction on the dace floor. “Yes her two worst adversaries are gone. I just feel bad for your grandfather, that he has to suffer the loss of his mate for it.” “Yeah, that is the worst part, Mimi never thought things through, just like Jessie, she never thought things through, to actually see the bigger picture, and how others around them would end up suffering, as long as they got what they wanted the way they wanted it.” “I am curious about why would Jessie want Kes–kidnapped, I mean it really makes no sense.” “It did to Jessie, Kes was always helping out in the kitchen, just to stay away from Jessie, but she would have to be seen sometimes, as she would go between the kitchen and the marquee, Jessie didn’t want to see her at all, not even briefly, so the best way to make that happen, is make her disappear, I don’t think Jessie ever really wanted Kes dead, just gone.” I tell her. “Well now she’s the one that’s gone, and she doesn’t have to see Kes again.” She says. “Indeed.” I kiss her. And we go dance. 1
CAMRON: After several songs have played I do start to wonder where Chase got himself off to. “Chase where are you?” “In the pool, with the kids.” “What?” “Seems that Liam decided to have a pool party of his own, while the rest of the adults were having their party.” “Ok, have fun.” I close the link and just chuckle “Chase?” Courtney asked “Yes, he is in the pool with the kids, I guess Liam is having his own party.” Lilly laughs at that as well. “I guess that is one way to work off an adrenalin spike, Liam can do that.” Lilly says still smiling.
KESKA: After my 80’s fix, I link Mackie, “Liam is having a pool party, I am kind of wanting to go join him, and let the others have their dance.” “I am with you, I am starting to get a little uncomfortable, they are starting to make out in the corners.” “Yup, with you.” I close the link. I take Trever’s hand and start to lead him out of the marquee and back towards the pool. Once away from the noise of he marquee. “I would like to go join Liam in the pool.” I tell him with what I hope is a hopeful look on my face. He chuckles at me. “Of course, babe, we can go join them in the pool.” I look over and Mackie and Dutch are right with us, so we go change and go back to the pool. Chase is still there with them as well. “Hey guys can we join?” I asked. “you can always join Kes.” Liam says. I smile at him. We enjoy the rest of the night at the pool with them.
LIAM: “Hey Kes?” “What Liam.” “Do you think we could maybe start an archery class? I mean like have it in like gym class or maybe as an after–school activity?” “I think that would be an excellent idea Liam, but that would have to come from father, or maybe James, not from me, I’m not the one in charge.” “I know, but I just thought I would run it by you first to see what you thought about it. I mean that way we could have more help in a war, or when there is a rogue attack, and we (I use my hands to encompass some of the others in the group.) wouldn’t feel like we can’t do anything, we would be doing something to help, even if like we would be stationed at the safe areas, covering the people to help make sure they get in safe.” I tell her. “I think that would be great, but again you would have to talk to father.” She says. I nod at her. “I will bring it up to him on Friday, after everybody has left.” I say. She nods. At about 10:00 the rest of the kids have to leave, so we all end up getting out of the pool. I shoer off at the changing area and walk the rest of the kids out to the front of the Pack house and watch as they make their way back to the orphanage, then I go up to my room and get in my PJ’s and go to bed.
