CARLA: I link my mother. “Mother?” “Yes dear.” “Oh, thank the goddess.” “I am fine dear; they tried to burn the cottages, but Corla put the fires out before they could really catch hold.” “Mother we have a problematic dilemma.” “Oh?” “Yes, it concerns Keska. Can you come to the Pack house please.” “Yes dear.” I close the link. “Mother is on her way.” I tell Drake and he nods his head.
LILLY: I have a feeling I know what is coming, especially after walking up to the Pack house, going around the statues, and ash piles. I know the Pack is scared of what, or rather who cause them. I know, and I will talk with her, and we will go to see her grandfather’s people in Canada, where she will get the training she needs, but whether or not we return here, will be up to her, and how the pack treats her. But somehow, I doubt we will be back. But right now, I need to go see Drake and Carla, to see if my assumption is correct.I was right. I will need to talk to Kes. It will be less of a blow coming from me then from them. Their relationship is already strained, and I have a feeling this just might break it completely. It’s too bad to because things were starting to get better between her and Drake, but after this, I don’t know if it can be fixed. The one I feel sorry for is Helios, he is going to miss his pup, and he is going to be so pissed at Drake for missing so much of her life, and now he is going to miss even more.
PETE: I wake up in the hospital, my mate is here, I can feel her through the bond, and I can smell her sweet scent of wildflowers and strawberries. I remember being surrounded by Stone Claw invaders; I did my best to fight back but there were just to many. I thought I was going to die. I remember seeing a red wolf just before I passed out. It was weird, it looked like it had like a shimmery watery outline around it. I must have been seeing things, but whoever it was I owe them and the Alpha my life. “How did I get here?” I asked my mate. “I believe the prince brought you in.” she says softly. I nod, even though I don’t remember seeing him. “What about the red wolf?” I asked. “I don’t know about any red wolf love.” She answered. “Please get the dr. for me.” she nods and steps out of the room to go get thé dr.
- DR. GRANT: I was doing my rounds, when Pete’s mate found me and said he wanted to see me. “Doc, I need to know, was I seeing things? Or do we have a red wolf in the Pack?” he asked the minute I stepped into the room. “No Pete you were not seeing things, but with everything that went on, I don’t know if she’ll be here much longer. I don’t think the Pack will let her stay.” “Who is it?” “Keska.” “Why wouldn’t they let her stay? With everything that Jessie put her through!” “Yes, but the Pack doesn’t know that, and they will deem her dangerous. She caused the ice statues, and the ash piles, and some of the Stone Claw Pack members she poisoned. That is why.” “That sucks. I need to thank her.” “You need to rest for a couple of days, when they brought you in, you were almost dead. Don’t push things.” I tell him. “I know, but I still need to thank her, otherwise I would be dead, not almost dead.” “I will link her, to get her here, so you can talk to her, but then you rest!” “Yes, doc and thanks.” I nod at him and link Kes. “Kes, if you’re not busy, Pete would like to see you, and Corla.” “Corla?” “Yes, he was asking about the red wolf.” “Ok, I will be there shortly.” I close the link. “She will be here shortly, until then, rest.” He nods at

KESKA: “Hey guys, Pete’s awake and he is asking to see me. (and Corla) I sign to them. (Why Corla?) Trever signs back. “I have no idea.” I say aloud. “Ok, I guess, if he wants to see you, we should go.” Trever states. We all get up and head to the hospital. When we get there, I go in search of the Dr. “Dr., Grant is there some where I can shift?” “Come with me, you can use my office.” I grab Mackie’s hand, and we follow him to his office. Once I have shifted, I watch as Mackie folds my clothes and brings them with her. (“We are ready Dr. What room is he in? I will just phase us there.“) Doc tells Corla what room he is in. “Corla, let Trever, Dutch and I go in first, we don’t want to scare him.” Mackie says. We nod at her words. “I will link you when we have prepared him.” Again, we nod. She leaves the room with my clothes and heads back to the guys and goes to Pete’s room.
MACKIE: “Let’s go.” I say reaching the guys. “Dutch, please stay out and guard the door, Corla is going to Phase into the room. We don’t want to scare or startle anyone.” I ask him through the link. He just smiles at me and nods. I swear he loves it when I link him. Reaching Pete’s room, I knock and peak in. “Hey, mind if I come in?” I asked him. “Sure, but I was hoping to see Keska.” He says. “You will, I promise. But I need both you and your mate to stay calm, you will get to meet Corla first. She has her own unusual way of making an entrance.” I tell him. “Okayyy?” he says drawing out the word. “You’ll be fine, but it can be a bit startling.” I tell him. He nods and reaches his hand out to his mate. “We are ready.” He says. I link her. “Ready.”
KESKA/CORLA: When we get Mackie’s link we phase right into his room, it is less than 6 feet from the Dr. office, but it is up a floor. (“You wished to see me?“) Corla asked him. Even though Mackie had warned him, he still jumped, and his mate squealed. Pete calmed her, but it was still a bit harsh on the ears. “i wasn’t seeing things, you are real.” (“Yes, I am real.“) “You talk!?” (“Yes, I can speak.“) “I’m sorry, I must sound like an idiot, but how is it that I didn’t know about you? I mean, I knew that Keska had her wolf, but not about you.” (“You didn’t ask.“) (“Corla! Be nice.“) [“well, he didn’t, or he would have known.” she says to me. Pete chuckles “Sassy.” [“Maybe.“) He chuckles again. “May I see Keska? I would like to thank her.” (“You just did.“) (“Corla!“) I scold her again. “May I touch you?” Pete’s mate asked. As an answer Corla walks over to her. She reaches out her hand and runs it over her fur.
