TREVER: I took a walk while I waited for Kes to get back, and I see Liam with a bat in hand. “Hey little brother, what are you up to with that.” I asked him, pointing to the bat. “Smashing the statutes.” “Why?” “Well, we can’t just leave them standing around all over the place, if they get smashed it won’t take as long for them to melt. That is if they will melt.” “I’m sure they will, they are ice after all.” “Yeah, true, but we don’t know for sure, do we? I mean this is the first time anything like this has happened, right? So how do we really know?” “You’re right, I guess we really don’t know. I love how your mind works sometimes.” I just smile at him. “Mind if I help?” “Sure, I will go get you another bat.” And he dropped the one he had and took off. About two minutes later he came back with another bat and handed it to me. We both proceeded to smash the statues.
MITCHELL: With all the refugee’s/prisoners of war that we had, I had the warriors vacate the barracks and take up residents in the Pack house, so we could house everyone, I set guards on them as well until we could figure out what to do with them. During the transition, I overheard some of them talking. “Did the red wolf help you?” “Did the red wolf send you to safety?” “Did you hear she could actually talk.” “I never seen a red wolf before wonder where she came from.” And then there were the questions, and comments of “What are talking about, what red wolf?” “There is no such thing as a red wolf, you must have been seeing things.” But no matter where they were on the spectrum, they were curious to know who, or what about the red wolf. I had my suspicions, but I linked the Alpha to be sure. “Alpha?” “Yes Mitchell?” “Is Keska’s wolf red by chance?” “Yes, Mitchell she is, her name is Corla.” “Ok Thank you.” “Is there a reason?” “Yes, some of the refugees/POW’s are talking about a red wolf.” “What are they saying?” “Nothing bad, just if she helped them, that she talks, and then those that don’t believe it, at all.” “Well, it’s all true, she is red, and she does speak, she can be quite sassy.” “Good to know. Thank you, “Welcome,” I close the link. One of the younger people called out to me. “Hey? Excuse us,
Alpha.” but you would know if there is a red wolf in your pack, right?” “Yes, we have a red wolf, and yes, she can talk, I haven’t had the pleasure of actually talking to her myself yet. But she is real.” I say out loud to those that are close enough to hear me. “Not everyone is privy to her, so not everyone will know about her.” I also tell them. “Why? I mean why doesn’t everyone know about her?” “She had some bad things happen to her, and she got her wolf early. So no, not everyone is privy to her. The fact that you have seen her, or even spoken to her, puts you in a very select group of people.” I say to them and continue to get them settled.
LILLY: I wait until after dinner to talk to Kes about what is coming down the pipeline so to speak. “I don’t know when Drake will make the announcement, but I want you to be ready, the Pack may be ok with it, but just in case they are not, I want you to be gracious, volunteer to leave on your own, I will come with you, we will go to your grandfather’s colony, in Canada. There you will get the training that these idiots would demand. I know that’s not what you want to hear, my sweet girl but it is the best solution to the problem.” I tell her. “Yeah, even Mackie said as much at breakfast. I actually don’t mind; I would like to get to meet Papa Rickard’s side of the family.” “That’s my girl.” “What about Mackie though? Can she come too?” “I will make sure that she can.” “Ok, and the guys?” “If they want.” Then she just smiles and nods.
DRAKE: I don’t know when or how I am going to make the announcement about Keska and Corla to the Pack, but I will start it with the explanation and execution of Kirk and Rodney. They have been sitting in the dungeon and taking up space long enough. Then hopefully the Pack won’t be so harsh on Kes, and maybe even give her some sympathy, when I make that announcement. I will call a Pack wide meeting tomorrow after lunch. Goddess, I hate this. I don’t know if I will ever be able to win her trust back now.
TREVER: I know somethings‘ up, I just don’t know what, but I can feel the tension in the air. It’s putting Havoc on edge, and that is never a good thing. I need to find Kes, her scent helps to calm him, and me. I see her talking to Lilly, so I make my way over to where they are. “What’s going on? I can feel the tension in the air, and it’s growing.” “The Pack is anxious about who or what caused the statues and ash piles.” Kes tell me. “Is that going to be a problem?” “Nana, James, and father think it will be.” “Then we’ll go to the royal Pack.” “Thank you, Trever but if the same thing happens there, it will start all over again. I know that they are right about one thing, I do need to have training, and the only place that can help me with that is Papa Rickard’s people.” Kes tells me. “And just where are they?” “In Canada. Nana says that we will go there, and I will train, and then I will decide what to do after that.” “Ok love, just know that I am with you all the way, no matter what.” I say to her. She kisses me. Wait, she just took the initiative, and she kissed me. I am ecstatic.
LISSA. Everything feels wrong, I don’t know how to describe it other than it feels wrong. I go to find Liam. “Hey.” “Hey, what’s up Lissa?” “I don’t know, but everything feel wrong.” “It’s the Pack, they are on edge because of the war, and because of what they saw right after the sounds of fighting stopped.” “What was it they saw?” “Didn’t you see the ice statues? And the ash piles?” “No. I was still too scared I haven’t been outside at all today.” “It’s ok, but just think of it like this, they are feeling everything you are feeling, plus they are anxious about who or what made the statues and ashes. So, you are probably picking up on the energy of the Pack. But that isn’t a bad thing, it just means that you will be a good luna when the time comes.” He tells me.
