Chapter 246
DUTCH: The second floor is for the warriors and their families. Each of the sides is split and has two apartments of 1180 square feet, they have 3 small/ medium size bedrooms, with Queen beds. 2 baths, kitchen/dining area, and family/lounge area. And each apartment is soundproof, that is why it is only half done. The third floor will be for visitors, and more warriors, again pretty much the same set up as the second floor. We put in pillars and built the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth floors on a bit of a wider diameter. They are for the ranked families, we have divided them into three, so if we have multiple family members, visiting they will each have their own private place. We put in a suspended balcony for each of the ranked quarters, so if they wanted to, they could open the sliding glass doors. We have also put in elevators. Again, taking that idea from Blue Cresent, and making sure that the family/lounge area is looking out over the garden. Trever has made it a point to speak with the refugees that have come with us, as well to get ideas of what they would like to have in the pack, he knows that we can’t please everyone, but if we can incorporate some of those things into the pack where and how we can, we will.
SETH: I have watched both Mackie and Kes, I just want to go hug Kes at times, I can see her frustration with her training, but I also don’t want to lose my head to Trever. So, I do what I can to help coach her through, “Relax, breath, close your eyes and picture what you want, then let it happen, don’t force it to happen.” I tell her. I go with her and Mackie when they go to visit the refugees outside the compound, they go at least twice a week to see if they need anything, and to them where and however they can. I go with to talk to them and find the warriors and set up training with them, the more I know, the better and more effective I can be when the time comes, and we end up leaving. I want to be lead Delta, their head warrior, someone they can count on. I am still working on it, and it has gotten better, we are still not back to where we were before Jessie, but we are getting there.
MACKIE: I have enjoyed being here, I was a bit of an adjustment for both Kes and me, considering we were always ignored unless they were bullying us or wanted us to do their work, here everybody was kind, and they were always checking in,asking us if we needed anything, making sure that we were taken care of, it was a new experience for both of us and it took a little while to not be jumpy with everybody. I was able to work on and perfect my computer program and chip, for home and personal security, it’s like a maze, that keeps changing, so if someone does get in, the walls just keep rebuilding, and redirecting them out, a different path. Leaving your information safe. I got the idea from the garden back home, yeah that also feels strange, because even though I lived there my whole life it really wasn’t a home. The guys also came to me with some questions that I couldn’t answer for them, and they were acting very strange. I have a feeling they are up to something, but they are being very closed lipped about it.
LILLY: We are finally into April, I love spring, being outdoors, planting, the smell of everything renewing, and fresh, it’s just nice. “Nana, I don’t feel so good.” Kes comes to me, I feel her forehead, take in her flushed face. Crap she is going into her first heat. That shouldn’t be happening yet, she’s not 18 yet, she won’t be 17 until the June, but I guess with everything else, why not this too, plus she has been around Trever the whole entire time, so that might also have something to do with it. “Come with me sweet girl.” I get her into a cold bath and then I call Trever. “YOU NEED TO COME TO MY COTTAGE NOW.” I tell him. Five minutes later there is a pounding on the door. “What’s wrong?! Is Kes alright? Where is she?!” “Trever! Calm down, yes the situation is important, but not urgent per say. Kes is going into heat. I am not going to tell you no, I am going to tell you to be gentle, and know that this is going to be a weeklong issue for both of you, so you will also need to pace yourselves, I haven’t told her yet, I am going to leave that to about it and not scare her.” I tell him. I watch as he takes a deep breath to calm himself and steady his nerves. He nods at me. I point to the bathroom where
you. But you need to be calm I put Kes in a cold bath to help ease her, but the only thing that will truly help her is to mate. So, I will let nature take its course. I am afraid that Mackie may be in the same boat though. I go in search of her. I knock on the cottage door where her and Dutch stay. It takes a few minutes for her to come to the door. “Nana?” “Yes dear, I came to check to see how you were feeling.” “Well to tell the truth, not so go, I feel hot.” “Can I come in?” “Yes! I am sorry.” “Don’t worry dear, is Dutch here?” “No, I think he went to the refugees for some reason, he and Trever have been being strange lately.” “I want you to go get into a cold bath, ok? Can you do that for me?” “Yes Nana.” I nod my head at her. And I call Dutch. “You need to come home now.” I tell him. I only have to wait about 5 minutes before he comes into the cottage. “Lilly? What’s going on?” “You need to keep calm for me, but Mackie and Kes both are going into their heat.” “It’s a bit late in the season for that isn’t, and aren’t they a bit young for that?” “Yes it is a bit late in the season, but it has happened, as for them being too young, they have been around the both of you for almost a year now, so I would say that that is probably the reason for the early onset.” “Ok.” “I told her to go take a cold bath, you are going to do the rest, just remember, it’s a week, pace yourselves, and remember to eat.” I tell him and I leave.
