communication, so you can talk with some one that might be deaf.” Adrian tells me. “Who would be deaf, your wolf would heal it.” “Not necessarily, my Gamma has a cousin that is deaf, she won’t get her wolf for another 2 years yet so we won’t know if her wolf will be able to heal her or not.” (While Adrian is telling Liam about his Gamma’s cousin, I take the
quivers back into Kent and pay him for the rental.) “What happened to her?” “Their pack was under attack when she was
being born and an explosion went off next to the clinic that caused her to go deaf.” “Oh, wow that’s messed up.” “Yes, it
is, but it was not her fault, and so My Gamma and I are teaching my pack to sign so that they understand how to
communicate with her, if or when she comes to visit, and not to be mean and bully her.” “Can I learn?” I asked. “Mackie
and I will teach you if you truly want to learn.” Kes tells me. “Even though we are still learning ourselves, that’s why I take
every chance I can to sign with Adrian, so I continue to learn as well.” She tells me. “Cool.”
KESKA: We head back to the Pack house for lunch.
JAMES: I noticed Adrian, Kina, Liam, Mackie and Kes coming in from outside. “Where were you guys?” I linked Liam. “’We were at the archery range, why?” “No reason just curious.” “Kes was giving me shooting pointers, so that I will be helpful
if the pack gets attacked.” “You will be in the safe room with mom, and the girls if the pack gets attacked.” “Yeah right.”
KESKA: I see that James and Liam are linking, and the look on Liam’s face is sour. I link into the two of them.* “What’s
going on?” “James said that if the pack comes under attack that I will be in the safe room with Mom and you girls.”
“Liam, you probably will, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be effective in the attack, you will be able to help defend the
people in the safe room, by being able to make every shot count you will be able to do 20 kills, and if you are able to
retrieve any arrows you will be able to incapacitate others so they can’t hurt anyone that is with you. So, there is no need
to be upset with what James said. Ok?” “Ok. Hear that James, I will still be able to help.” “Yeah right.” “Stop it James, with
what he did today, he just needs a bit of practice, and he will be very effective, and very deadly with a bow.” “Yea just like
Kes was.” “What are you talking about Liam?” “Kent told me that Kes and Mackie took out like 6 or 8 of the rouges that
attached us a couple months ago.” *
CARLA: I notice that 3 of my children are not paying attention, so I link into their conversation.* “Enough you 3, we have
guests that will be leaving soon, you need to be conversing with them not each other.” “Sorry Mom.”* I get from all three
of them.
JAMES: I am going to have to talk to dad after everyone leaves.
KESKA: “Hey, where did you get off to?” Janica asked me. “I was down at the archery range with Alpha Adrian, Luna Kina,
Mackie, and Liam.” “Why didn’t you say something I love archery.” “Sorry, when you come back for the twins’
birthday/mating ball we can get in a few rounds, and if you’re lucky your mate will be able to join us as well.” “Or mates.”
“Yes, or mates.” We both end up chuckling. We all enter the family dining room for lunch. When lunch was over, I started
to help with cleaning up, and my mom stopped me. “It’s time you join the rest of the family and seeing our guests off.”
She says to me. I almost want to argue with her, they are not my guests, but the twins, Her’s, and fathers, they had
nothing to do with me except Adrian and Kina. But I didn’t. I walked to the front of the house with the rest of the family. Waved goodbye as everyone climbed into their vehicles and headed to the pack gates. As the last vehicle rounded the
curve out of sight I turned and went straight to helping clean up from lunch.

JOSH: “Do you think they will ever change?” I asked, “What do you mean Josh?” “That they will ever accept Keska as part
of the family?” “I would hope so son I would hope so.” My dad said.
LEASHA: “I don’t think Jessie ever will, she is too enamored with her Mimi Sutter. Adrian’s swearing in, and Luna
Ceremony and they said that the elder Mrs. Sutter rejected Keska in public and no one said a word to her about it.” “That woman is a piece of work, I feel sorry for Drake and Adrian having to be related to that atrocious woman.” Mom said.
“That makes sense now.” Josh said, “What makes sense?” “Keska accepted her rejection, which put her on her knees, too
bad though I would have like to see Miss Lilly kick her ass.” “Josh!” both our parents scold him.
“So that’s what happened, huh, Jessie tried to get us to believe that it was the warrior training outside.” I said. “You will
have to be cautious when dealing with whoever she gets mated to.” I said.

COLTON: “I am almost afraid to go back for their birthday/ Mating ball.” I say out loud. “Why is that, Colton?” My dad

JANICA: “No mom it’s true, she through a fit when we were at their Nana’s house and Keska smoked her on the obstacle
course, and I overheard her and her friends talking about how Keska got punished for all the crap that the twins have
pulled over the years, she got the belt, and has had to spend time in the cells all because of James and Jessie.” “That
doesn’t seem like Drake.” Dad says. “I can’t speak to that; I am just telling you what I saw and heard.” I tell them. “You will have to be careful when doing any dealings with whoever she ends up with, so you don’t get taken and make sure
you read all the fine print on any contract dealing with them.” I say
