JAMES: “What’s up little brother, we lost you.” “Yeah, Lissa linked me.” “Is she ok? Did anything happen to her?” “She is
fine, she was letting me know that Kes was doing her training, and she thought that I wanted to watch.” “Do you want to
go watch?” “Naw.” “Why not? I thought you were close to Kes.” “I am, but I don’t need to watch her doing her
punishment, especially when it wasn’t right or fair to begin with.” “I’m lost, why is Lissa there?” “Because she was always
getting on my case about not being on Jess’s side of things when shit hit the fan. I could see that you two were being mean to Kes from the start, now I have got Lissa in a position to witness it firsthand rather than taking Jessie’s word for
things all the time. There are things that happened to Kes that you don’t even know about, and don’t ask me because
she didn’t say anything specific in front of me but ask Jessie, I’m sure she will be more than happy to brag about what
punishments Kes has had to go through because of you two.” I could see he was pretty upset, so I left it alone. But I did
link Jessie. *“Hey Jess.” “What’s up?” “You never did tell me what happened in dad’s office that night that Kes told dad we broke Mr. Rickman’s window.” “Oh, well it was fun as all get out really, every time we got her into trouble, dad used
his belt on her, and she even had to spend a week in the cells because of that broken window.”* She giggles at me.
*“Thanks for telling me.”* I say and close the link. I am appalled at what she just told me, and Liam was right, she was
happy to brag about it. I never thought about any of it growing up, Dad never did come back and punish us, unless he
actually caught us doing something or one of the teachers told him we had done something wrong. But it was always a
grounding or loss of privileges never the belt. *“What’s up James you look like you just seen a ghost or something.”* Wyatt linked me. *“Man, I have fucked up big time and I think dad did even worse.” “What are you talking about.” “Well,
I have just put somethings together, and I wouldn’t blame Kes if she never talked to me again.” “Dude, you have me so
confused right now.” “Sorry, but you remember all the times I would brag to you that we blamed Kes for shit we did, and we never got in trouble for it?” “Yeah, we used to laugh about it.” “Well, every time dad took his belt to Kes, and when we broke Mr. Rickman’s window last year, not only did she have to work for two months to pay for it but spent a week in
the cells because of it.” “I don’t get it why didn’t she tell him it wasn’t her?” “I have a feeling he wouldn’t have listened
to her, and he also probably didn’t ask her.” “Oh man that is messed up.” “Yes, and now I know why she has been calling
him father for the last few years instead of dad, she sees him as a sperm doner and not her dad.” “Ouch, do you think he
has figured that out yet?” “Maybe in some small part, but I don’t know if it will change, after all its Kes, and she looks and
acts nothing like the rest of us so it’s easy to ignore and forget about her.”*
KESKA: Day 2 down, and I’m not sure if it’s a 5-day week he meant or a 7-day week I will have to get clarification.
*“Father, are you busy?” “Not at the moment.” “Am I training for 5 days or 7?”* (I don’t believe I did clarify that so this would be an out for both of us.) *“5” “Ok, will you let Mitchell know please.” “Yes, I will do that right now, so I don’t
forget.” “Thank you.”* So, 3 more to go. I link Macie. *“Are you busy?” “No, board, but not busy.” “Want to go to Nana’s
to run the course?” “Sure, I’m down for that, but aren’t you tired?” “A little but I don’t have anything to do until it’s time
to start dinner so might as well keep up with the obstacle course.” “Ok, meet you there.” “Meet you there.” I then link Nana. “Nana, I hope it’s ok if Mackie come run the obstacle course?” “Yes of course dear, I will have Stephen put the
target back up for you.” “Thank you, Nana.”* I close the link. I freshen up, taking a wet cloth to my face neck and arms,
then head out to go to Nana’s.
DRAKE: I link Mitchell. *“Kes will only be with the group for 5 days.” “Ok Alpha, I will keep track.”* I close the link. (“Do
you think we will ever get back to where we were with her Helios?” I asked my wolf.) (“You will have to stop taking
Jessie’s word for everything, especially if it concerns Keska.” He tells me.)
JAMES: “We have to go talk to Mr. Rickman, to set up the time we will be working for him.” I tell Wyatt. “Let’s go and get
it over with then.” “We’ll be back in a bit Liam.” “Take your time, I am going to see if Kes is done yet.” I just nod my head
at him and Wyatt, and I leave.
LIAM: *“Kes?” “Yes Liam” “Are you done with training?” “Yes, we’re at Nana’s.” “Can I come to?” “Yes, you know you
don’t have to ask me, it’s Nana’s house not mine.” “Yeah, but it’s a better chance of her saying yes if you’re there
already.” “You’re a nut.” “Yeah, but you love me.” “Yeah, you’re right I do.” *
KESKA: the next 2 days follow in the previous 2 days footsteps. Including the harassment by Jessie. I don’t let her get to me though. And by the 5th day I am starting to hold my own on offense, feign to get your opponent to commit. Landing
solid punches. Working with the different warriors to get a feel for how they work. It’s the last day of my punishment
training, and no Jessie, I link Lissa. *“Where is Jessie?” “She said she needs to pack for the trip to High Crest and Dutch Wood Packs.”* She links back to me. Finaly a day of peace without Jessie’s constant harassment. We made it through the
first set of offense/defense when someone shouted rouges north border, the whole training field evacuated and headed
to the north. Frank told me to get Lissa and get to the safe room. I linked Lissa. *“Run to the pack house now! I will be
right behind you.”* But I didn’t make it three feet when I was grabbed from behind with a hand over my mouth and
stabbed, I felt the blade go into my Right thigh, then I was picked up by the throat. I didn’t flail like most people would,
instead I folded in at the waist and bent my knees, then with all my strength I kicked out at the person holding me, and
caught him in the chest, and then I felt the knife go into my side, I grabbed a hold of it and threw myself towards the
person holding the blade catching them off guard and they let go of the blade. I fell to the ground, and everything went
