JESSIE: I head down to the safe room to tell everyone it’s ok and they can come out. I see Lissa but I don’t see Liam,
“Lissa where is Liam?” “He took off like ghost was chasing him or something.” “Took off where?” “I don’t know,
something about Kes being hurt though, but he hasn’t linked me back yet.” “When did he leave?” “Maybe about 15
minutes ago or so.” Great just fucking great.
JAMES: I get to the hospital, and I see Stephen carrying Keska through the front door. I link Wyatt. *“What happened to
her? Is she still alive?” “Yes, she is, but barely, she was stabbed with a silver dagger, which is still imbedded in her side,
Nana just wrapped her scarf around the handle so Stephen could carrier her without getting burned by the silver
himself.” “Embedded? Why not take it out?” “Something to do with the fact that it might be stopping the blood flow
right now and if we take it out without the proper medical procedure it could let her bleed to death.” “Oh shit!” “Yeah, oh
shit is right.”* I close the link and catch up to them in the waiting room area. About 5 minutes later mom and dad come
in.
DRAKE: “What’s going on where is Keska?” “They took her into emergency surgery to remove the dagger, and to make
sure she doesn’t bleed out.” James tells me. “What the hell happened? How did she get stabbed?” “Lissa said that there were some warriors around her, and things were complete chaos when they announced the rouge attack, it may have
been an accident, stemming from the chaos.” Liam states. (CARLA: “Liam what are you doing here? You are supposed to
be at the house with your sisters.” “Ha, I left before you and dad did, Mackie linked me, and I left.”) “Watch your tone with your mother young man.” I say to Liam. “Yes dad. Sorry mom.” “I understand sweetheart.” Carla tells him. “How did
you know Mackenzie?” I asked her. “I don’t know Alpha, maybe because she is my only friend and we are so close, I just
knew something was wrong.” She tells me. We are sitting in the waiting room for about an hour and a half when the dr.
finally comes to talk to us.
DR. GRANT: “Alpha, Luna, your daughter is extremely lucky, and very blessed.” “Please explain Dr.” The Alpha said. “The
blade only punctured the human appendix, so no real vital organs were damaged, but we did have to remove the
appendix, the part that makes her blessed is that the silver did not affect her, like it would a normal wolf. How or why, I
cannot say. She will have to stay in the hospital overnight for observation, but then she will be able to go home. There will be restrictions for her for the next couple of months, due to the fact that she does not have her wolf, she will have to
heal like a normal human. No strenuous activities, she will be able to do stairs, albeit slowly, no heavy lifting of any kind,
no overhead reaching for the first 2 weeks. She will need to just take it easy, no long-distance traveling.” I tell the family.
“May we go see her?” “Yes, but not all at once, and not for long, she needs to rest, to heal. She is in the Alpha wing.”
“Thank you, Dr.” “You are welcome.” I leave them to go about my rounds.
KESKA: I wake up in a strange place, with an annoying beeping going off in my left ear. “Hmm, make it stop.” I mumble
and I don’t recognize my own voice. I slowly open my eyes. “No too bright.” I mumble again. It came out like a croak of a
frog. Where in the goddess’s name am I. I hear movement around me. I can feel the light dim. I try to open my eyes
again. I am in a room; it’s a light beige color and it smells like disinfectant. “Where am I?” “In the hospital.” I hear a
familiar voice. “Nana?” “Yes dear.” “How did I get here?” “I had Stephen carry you.” “What happened?” “You were
stabbed dear.” “What? Wait, Rouges, Nana, Lissa is she ok?” I say as panic sets in. “Calm down dear, Lissa is just fine,
there were no rouges, it was a false alarm.” She tells me. I try to get up but there is pain in the right side of my stomach.
“Ahhhggg.” “Kes stop moving, or you will tear your stitches.” She tells me. “What happened? Why am I here? And why
does my stomach hurt?” “Well, we were hoping you could tell us what happened. What do you remember?” “Someone
called out rouges at the North border. Frank told me to get Lissa and get the safe room. I linked her to run to the pack
house and I would be right behind her. But someone grabbed me they put their hand over my mouth, I felt the knife go
into my right thigh, then I think I was picked up by my throat, I kicked him, but then I got stabbed in the side, and
everything went dark after that.” It was a bit fuzzy, but it was coming back to me. “Do you think the attack was targeted,
or an accident?” “What do you mean?” “Do you think that the attack that happened was deliberately meant for you?” “I
don’t know Nana, maybe. There was so much chaos, it’s hard to tell.” “Ok sweetheart, don’t stress over it, get some rest,
the Dr. says you will be here over night.” “What time is it?” “Almost dinner time.” “Love you, Nana.” “Love you too, rest.”
She leaves the room. Then Father and mom come in. “Oh, my baby!” mom is in tears. “Drake we can’t leave now.” “What
are you talking about Mom?” “The trip to High Crest and Dutch Wood. We can’t leave you here like this.” “Oh! Hell no!
You will go, I am not going to get blamed for Jessie not getting to go!” I almost yell. “Calm down Keska, we don’t want
you tearing your stitches. And watch your language and tone young lady!” Father states. I bow my head and bare my
neck. I link James *“You had better convince Mom and Father to take you Jessie and Wyatt on that trip!” “What are you
on about?” “The graduation trip, I am not getting blamed for Jessie not getting to go! So, whatever you have to do to
convince them you better do it!”* I close the link. “Who were you just talking to?” “James.” Father just shakes his head,
he knows what I did, I’m sure. “What would you like for dinner?” Father asks me. “Whatever they are serving, I don’t
need a special meal.” “Well actually you do have to eat soft foods for a couple of days, so you don’t stress the internal
stitches.” Came a new voice. “What do you mean Dr?” “We had to put a few stitches in place when we took the appendix
out. So soft foods, like mashed potatoes with gravy, mashed up hamburger, with gravy, meat loaf with gravy soft vegies,
no lettuce salad. No steak yet, understand?”

JAMES: I just shake my head; she is giving ME orders now? WTF. She gets stabbed and she thinks she can boss everyone.
LILLY: “What’s wrong James” I ask him after seeing him shake his head.
