JAMES: “I will link the Beta to let him know.” I said. “Really James!” Jessie huffs at me. “Yes! Really Jessie, I don’t want him
to panic, and then we have to go home early.” I tell her. She rolls her eyes at me “Whatever.” I just shake my head, and
link the beta. *“Colton and Janica want to take us into town to show us the arcade.” “That’s fine just please be back in
time to get cleaned up for dinner.” “I will make sure.”* I close the link. “He doesn’t care as long as we are back in time to
clean up for dinner.” I tell the group.
COLTON: “We should all make sure we all have each other’s phone numbers in case we end up getting separated, it’s a
big place, it has three floors to it.” I say. And everyone agrees. “we should send a one-word text to everyone just to make
sure each number is correct.” My sister adds. So, before we leave, I call my beta to be, Tom to join us, everyone
exchanges numbers. I link dad. *“We are going to take them to the arcade.” “Ok, just be home in enough time to get
cleaned up for dinner, I don’t want your Mom stressing.” “Ok dad.”* I close the link. “Dad said the same thing. But his
reasoning was because he doesn’t want mom stressing.” I chuckled. We head out and take two vehicles and a third with
a few guards in it.
STAR: My phone dings on the drive to the arcade. I check to see who texted me. It was from Janica. (“If you are close to
Jessie, just say it’s your mom, or a friend checking in. but we need to talk, just us.”) I texted back, (“Jessie is in the front
seat next to Tom, I am in the back. Go ahead, tell me what you need to.”) (“I have a friend that is practicing reading lips, I
am not sure if this is important but this what she told me she got from Jessie’s phone call. { four idiots, stick to the script,
any ideas, hear them, might have to do, Dutch Wood, after lunch, High Crest, home Saturday.}”) (“Well, the last part is our
itinerary, the first part might have something to do with Keska’s stabbing. The middle is a mystery. Thank you.”) (“Just
thought you should know; I don’t trust Jessie.”) (“I don’t either.”) “What’s all the texting Star?” Jessie asked, “Mom just
checking in to see how things are going, and if we’re having fun.” I tell her. “Tell auntie I said hi.” “I will.” I say. And I
actually text my mom. (“Hey mom, this has to be quick, Jessie says hi, I am sending a screen shot to you please show the
Alpha.”) and I sent her my text screen from Janica. (“No dad doesn’t know, we are on our way to an arcade, if I get more
time somewhere I will fill you in more, but not right now. Love you.”) (Ok. Love you too.”) “She says Hi back and wants us
all to have fun.” I say to everyone. I link Wyatt. *“I have some information you will find interesting. Janica has a friend that
is learning to read lips, and Jessie is definitely up to something. When I have time alone someplace I will send something
to you, but can’t now.”* I close the link. Settle back and watch the scenery.
WYATT: After getting the link from Star, I link James. *“Don’t react, but Star and I believe Jessie is up to something, Star
just linked me and said she would send me something when she had the time to do it.” “Then I guess we need to give
her the time, and keep Jessie occupied elsewhere.” “Agreed.”* I closed the link.
JAMES: “So dose this place have pinball?” I asked “Yes, the main floor is the front entrance, and then it is divided into
video, pinball, and food court, the top floor is more active type games like the dance stuff, and Wii, and the bottom has a
6-lane bowling alley, paint ball/obstacle course combo, and skeet ball.” Colton answers me. We pull into the parking lot;
the place seems pretty busy. Park the cars and go inside. “Wow.” I say. “I know right?” Colton answers. The place is lit up
like a disco, with all the flashing lights and the music is just loud enough that it is in the background, and you can still
hear your game. We need to get one of these built in our pack, it will help keep the kids occupied and not have them
causing trouble. I thought to myself. We move through the place, with Colton and Janica pointing out different games to
try out our skill levels on.
STAR: “Is there archery?” I asked. “That would be upstairs, with the dance, and the Wii.” Janica answers me. “I would like
to go try that.” I say. “Ok.” “Jessie, anything catch your eye?” Janica asked her. “I would like to try the dance.” She says. “I
am going to take the girls upstairs” Janica says to her brother. “Ok.” Colton answers her. And we head for the stairs.
COLTON: “So anything in particular catch your eye?” I ask James. “Yeah actually, I would like to do the paintball and
obstacle course. But I have a question.” “Shoot.” I say. “Is it possible to do it in combination, like you and Tom with the
paint guns and Wyatt and I running the course and then we switch?” “I think we can do that; we will have to ask though.”
I tell him. But I like the way he was thinking. For sure. I went and asked at the counter about James’s question, and we were told that yes we could most certainly do that. Each group stayed in their perspective areas for about an hour, then we all came back together on the main floor to get beverages, bathroom break and then on to the pinball and video
games.
STAR: When we took our bathroom break I sent Wyatt a screen shot of my text screen with Janica from earlier, with the
message that I was going to delete it from my phone because I didn’t want to take a chance of Jessie seeing it, and to let
me know he got it. “Received.” He sent me. And I deleted it. I put my phone back in my purse and left the stall, washed
my hands, and met up with the girls. We stayed playing pinball and video games for about an hour and then headed
back to the pack house to make sure we were there in time to freshen up before dinner. While I had the time before
changing for dinner I texted mom. (“I have a little bit of time, so I wanted to bring you up to speed, about the screen
shot, Janica has a friend learning to read lips, and this is what she picked up from a phone call Jessie receive earlier
today.”) (“Ok, dear, but this could be considered an invasion of privacy.”) (“I get that mom, but if this has anything to do
with Keska’s stabbing then the Alpha needs to know.”) (“You are right on that count, but we need more proof then just
this, to link her to what happened, this could be anything, like a skit that she might be working on for the ball or any
number of other things.”) (“Maybe, but I still think he should know.” “But I have to go so I’m not late for dinner.”)
(“Alright dear, tell your father I love him.”) (“I will.”) I put my phone back in my purse and head out for dinner.
