“Malcolm, I didn’t nurse you back to health for accolades, I’ve got my reasons, and you don’t need to feel obligated to do anything for me,” Reese said firmly. “I’ve never needed anyone’s protection and I don’t intend to start now.”

With a gentle look in his eyes, he reached for Reese’s hand without another word, leading her toward the car.
Reese’s brow furrowed in frustration.

Malcolm realized that his wife seemed to respond well to this approach. If he had tried verbal teasing, she would probably retaliated by now. Yet today, she was surprisingly docile,
Well, he thought, this tactic might come in handy In the future.

Typically quick on the uptake, she was unexpectedly bested by Malcom today, not just once but twice.
Malcolm raised an eyebrow, a sly smile curling at his lips, his voice laced seductively. “Even if you call the cops, it won’t do you any good. We’re legally married, and this is just normal interaction between spouses. No one else has a say in it.”
