Chapter 102 Women’s Words are Seldom Spoken from the Heart–I
for
Beese was at a loss the words. Her frustration, released, felt like a poch landing on entton–soft and powerless.
For the first time, she was utterly clueless on how to deal with somine, and the testing of defeat left her disoriented, uncertain how to break the pattem.
So, she stopped talking altogether and simply swapped seats with Malcolm. After he had buckled up, a question popped into her
“Honey, do you know how to drive?”
“Not really. Reese replied, starting the ignition, disengaging the chich, and revving the engine. The car shot forward like a bullet.
Malcolm’s face stiffened as he instinctively grabbed the overhead handle, then turned to look at Reese. She appeared calm, but the car’s speed didn’t drop as they took a turn.
He felt uneasy for the first time as a passenger: ‘Honey, slow down a hit.”
“I haven’t driven much, I can’t quite control the force. Just hold tight she said, her face the picture of modesty, bot her foot stayed
Malcolm had never seen a girl drive so wildly, treating the other vehicles on the road as if they were nothing but minor obstacles. His gaze hardened as he noticed a car suddenly switch lanes ahead of them.
“Be careful, honey?
Reese’s eyes were fierce as she deftly maneuvered the steering wheel with one hand, and the car surged past the other vehicle with effortless grace. The street had become her personal racetrack, her movements fluid and seamless.
Upon arriving at the Flynn residence, Malcolm s face was stormy. He’d weathered plenty of storms in his life, but was Reese’s claim of not driving well modesty or just teasing him?
Could that even be considered ‘not really knowing how to drive?
Malcolm unbuckled and turned to Reese, who still had that serene look on her face.
“Were you in a racing club before?”
“Then where did you learn to drive like that?”
“Go–kart racing, huh?” Reese unbuckled his seatbelt, pushed open the car door, and then proceeded to get Malcolm’s wheelchair out of the trunk and roll it up beside the passenger seat.
Malcolm had his suspicions that Reese was holding back a lot more than he let on–like her past. Could a small–town girl really be this skilled?
She wasn’t just versed in medicine; her driving
g was also remarkably proficient. He couldn’t help but look forward to the surprises his darling wife might reveal in the future,
Reese opened the passenger door and waited for Malcolm to get out. From behind his squinted eyes, he admired the young woman’s poised stance and beautiful, yet always impassive face.

He almost laughed. His wife could be so adorably oblivious at times
“Honey, you expect me to get down on my own?”
What use was
as the wheelchair if the staff at the Flynn residence thought he was
faking?
Glancing back at the Flynns doorway, Reese noticed several staff members looking their way. With no choice left, she bent down to assist Malcolm. However, his tall figure made it awkward for her to cert much force while hunched over, prompting her to glance at him with exasperation.
“Can’t you put in a little effort?”
Was she really expected to haul him out on her own?
Seeing her annoyed expression, Malcolm’s lips curled slightly, not a hint of harshness, more like a playful pout.
At last, he exerted some effort, allowing
ng Reese to guide him into the wheelchair, where he grasped her hand resting on the chair’s

was the biggest concession she was willing to make – becoming his scapegoat was out of the question.

Malcolm didn’t press her, adopting a tone of mock surrender.
“No big deal. If you’re not worried about Vincent charging this to your account, feel free to sell me out.”
Although he sounded calm, Reese wasn’t fooled; he was clearly threening her.
But Rex

She shrugged indifferently. “No worries, I don’t care.”
With that, Reese released the wheelchair, not even bothering to push him, and started to walk inside.
Malcolm was taken aback; he had been confident just moments before, but Reese’s reaction had left him somewhat blindsided.
“Honey,” Reese
corners of her lips upturned in a smile, but her voice was as chilly as ever.
“Something else, Mr. Flynn?”
“Considering how well I treat you as your husband, do you have the Heart to let me be framed by others?”
Malcolm shifted his demeanor at the right moment. He had come to understand her temperament: this girl responded to softness over hardness, and loathed being threatened. With her, you had to be as sweet as marshmallows.
Reese’s cool eyes caught a glimpse of Jason lingering at the doorway, and an idea flashed through her mind.
Her eyes twinkled with mischief as she suddenly changed her tune, Let’s make a deal. You agree to my terms, and I’ll help you out.
“Let’s hear it.”
Malcolm, seeing the shrewd light in her eyes, suddenly relished the thrill of matching wits with her. Smart folks enjoyed dealing with other smart folks.
“Give me the lowdown on Jason, and I’ll help you.”
“Why the interest in Jason? The guy’s old enough to be your grandfather. And I won’t wear a green hat for you.”
Reese rolled her eyes, without a second thought, the words just slipped out, “Why old fuddy–duddy like Jason? Have I lost my mind?”
would I leave a catch like you to fuss over some
Hearing this, amusement danced in Malcolm’s eyes, “I like the sound of that.”
Reese didn’t even know how those words came out, or how she had gotten so off–kilter. Ever since marrying Malcolm, she felt he was gradually leading her astr
She would ve never said such things before. But once spoken, words are like water spilled, impossible to take back. Rather than making an awkward explanation, she cut to the chase, “Well, do we have a deal?”
As long as you don’t have those kinds of ideas about Jason, I’ll happily agree to any reasonable request.”
He would give her the whole of Atlanta if she desired; so, why wouldn’t he agree to this?
“Good, it’s settled then.” She had been worrying about who to approach for information on Jason With Malcolm on her side, he was

bound to have the most comprehensive data.
With Jason’s information in hand, she could start piecing together wint his connection was to Grandma.
She couldn’t just confront Jason out of the blue; she needed to investigate thoroughly first..
“Let’s go inside,” lingering here was only inviting suspicion.

It’d be a disaster if she hadn’t even started her performance and the Flynn family was already in the know.
“Don’t worry, I’ve had Justin handle everything.”
As his lips parted slightly, a note of mirth threaded through his voice “Looks like my wife does care after all.”
“I just don’t want to waste an expression,” she shot back dryly.
“Yeah, keep telling yourself that.”
Reese, already wheeling him inside, was moments away from giving him a piece of her mind.
Once indoors, she parked Malcolm and casually took a seat nearby, showing no intention of fussing over him.
Vincent watched the scene with an amused grin. Reese was the epitome of doing her own thing.
“It seems Reese and Malcolm need a bit more bonding time,” he remarked with a smirk.
