Fall in Love with the Dominant Billionaire
Chapter 156 Confrontation
Finn Sawyer’s eyes widened incredulity as he watched Reese brazenly talk back to him. “Reese, you’ve got some nerve addressing me with such insolence!”
Alyssa shrank back, her nerves on edge, as she hurriedly reached out to tug at Reese’s hand.
“Reese, I know you can be feisty with us, and that’s one thing, but please don’t get on Grandpa’s bad side. Even my brother wouldn’t dare, and you don’t need to go looking for trouble.”
But Reese wouldn’t back down. She had a stubborn streak a mile wide and wouldn’t let herself be pushed around.
Life was hard enough without letting others make it harder, she thought. Only she had the right to complicate her life–not anyone else.
Especially over
some matter that wasn’t even remotely her concern, where she was being wrongfully accused by others.
Roese ignored Alyssa’s pleas and locked eyes with Finn Sawyer, her gaze filled with a fiery defiance.
“Grandpa, just because we’re high society doesn’t mean we can be unreasonable. Can money give us the right to falsely accuse people?” she challenged.
If that were true, the
then chaos would reign supreme.
Finn Sawyer, consumed by rage, pounded d the ground with his
cane, has aged face going from red to pale, clearly infuriated by Reese.
In the Flynn family, no one dared to go against him. Even if Malcolm occasionally disagreed, he did so with a soft touch, unlike Reese–headstrong and bold in her confrontation.
The patriarch of the Flynn family couldn’t possibly be defied by a young
ng woman like her–what a joke that would be!
“Reese, you married into the Flynn family because of an arrangement between our families, but that doesn’t mean you get to dictate our rules. You have no right!” he barked.
“I may not have the right, and I’m not the least bit interested in managing Flynn family affairs. But I’ll protect what’s mine. Malcolm got into it with Mr. Sawyer today because of me, true, but Grandpa, you have no business blaming me. Shirley is the one trying to set me up,” Reese defended herself.
“Even so, you shouldn’t have encouraged Malcolm to cross them,” Firm Sawyer retorted, his face flushed with anger, struggling for breath.
Everly rushed to help Finn Sawyer sit down, but then she turned to Reese and reprimanded her. “Reese, you’re way out of line. It seems my brother has spoiled you. Even Alyssa wouldn’t dare to upset Grandpa like this. It’s clear you’re from the countryside, lacking even the most basic manners!”
She fixed
Reese with a scathing look.
Reese was not one to take things lying down, and she was about to argue when Malcolm beat her to it.
“Everly, Reese is your sister–in–law. You can’t speak to her that way! Malcolm interjected firmly,
Iwerly scoffed, “Isn’t
the part
of the younger generation too? Does that give her the right to talk to Grandpa like that?”
From the sidelines, Alyssa mumbled, “Actually, Reese was telling the truth. It was Shirley who framed her. By treating Reese that way, isn’t she basically showing no respect for the Flynns?”
Chapter 156 Confrontation
Everly’s eyes widened, and she pointed a finger at Alyssa’s forehead, Have you been totally brainwashed by Reese? So submissive that you’ve forgotten your own family name? Whatever she says is right to you, but anything we say is wrong?”
Pouting, Alyssa retorted, “I just think that even though Reese’s words were harsh, they were true. Shirley did set her up, and as a family, the Flynns stick together. If we had forced Reese to apologize to Shirley, outsiders might think we’re afraid of Sue’s family!”
“They pretend to be our lifelong friends, but if they act like this toward our family, where does that leave us?” Everly continued indignantly.
Despite everything, Reese felt touched inside, thankful that her usual support for Alyssa wasn’t in vain. At least she had someone standing up for her in tough times.
Reese had long realized the blind loyalty within the Flynn family. Regardless of whether Finn Sawyer’s words they were always taken as the absolute truth, with unconditional obedience.
No one dared to contradict him, leading to the current situation where Finn’s word was law.
Slamming his hand on the table, Finn Sawyer erupted, “This is outright rebellion, isn’t it?!”
were tiek.
right or wrong.
Malcolm stepped forward, trying to soothe the situation, “Grandpa, please don’t be angry. The fault lies with me today I didn’t think things through. Whatever the punishment, I’ll accept it.”
Finn Sawyer pandered for a moment before sitting back down, his authoritative gaze sweeping over everyone present before resting.
on Keese
“Malcolm, I’m giving you two options. One, divorce Reese and this whole mess will be forgotten; we need to give Sue’s family an explanation. Or two, accept the family discipline. After all, your actions today have brought shame upon the Flynns and crossed a serious line.”
Alyssa’s eyes went wide, staring in shock at Finn Sawyer, letting our an incredulous gasp.
“Grandpa, you want Malcolm to divorce Reese? Why? She’s so wonderful, why would
you…”
“Silence!” Finn Sawyer’s voice thundered across the room.
Although Alyssa often had a casual demeanor, she was the picture of obedience in front of Finn Sawyer.
Silenced by Finn’s command, she didn’t dare speak up for Reese anymore.
Reese wasn’t surprised, knowing that within influential families like the Sawyers, interests often trumped everything else. Maybe Finn never intended to allow her to divorce Malcolm from the moment she agreed to treat him.
But now that Malcolm had recovered and Alyssa’s spirit was something Finn could no longer control, he saw no reason to keep her around.
For Finn, Reese had outlived her usefulness,
In the past, she might have
chosen to leave, as there was nothing in the Sawyer family worth holding onto. Not anymore.
She wanted to stay, not sure for how long, but as of now, she had no intention of leaving.
Besides, Reese had a streak of independence; if she were to leave the Sawyer family, it would be on her own terms, never coerced by anyone else.
Reese faced Finn and said frankly, “Grandpa, that seems a bit unfair doesn’t it? just because I’ve clashed with the Sue family, you want me to divorce Malcolm. What happens if his next wife nakes mistake? Are you going to have them divorce too? If so,

Malcolm might spend his life caught in a cycle of marriages and divorces. It’s exhausting just to think about it, not just for me but
for him too.”
Alyssa, who was on edge earlie
edge earlier, couldn’t help but laugh at Reese’s comment.
She found Reese increasingly amusing and entertaining, completely to her taste.
Finn, fuming, shot Alyssa a look that warned her to keep her joy at someone else’s misfortune to herself.
“One more peep from you and off to your room!” he warned.
“Okay.” Alyssa quickly shut up, but inside she was elated, curious to see Reese’s next move against the formidable Sawyer patriarch.
Malcolm pulled Reese aside. He didn’t want her to clash too much with their grandfather. They had to live together, after all.
“Grandpa, I’ve made my decision,” he said.
Finn was sure his favored grandson wouldn’t disappoint him and locked on with anticipation.
“Alright, then tell me your decision.”
