Fall in Love with the Dominant Billionaire
Chapter 168 The Counterstrike
From the backseat, Malcolm passed something to Reese, remarking,t’s Grandpa Flynn’s birthday today. You should make a
gesture.”
Reese declined, “I don’t see the need. Even if I did, Grandpa Flynn would never believe I was the one who bought it.”
She detested the charade, as though she was desperately trying to win the Flynn family’s favor when it wasn’t necessary at all.
In the front seat, Justin interjected, “Reese, while Grandpa Flynn might be doubtful, maintaining appearances is sometimes necessary. Besides, if you don’t, what would that say about Mr. Flynns reputation? Gossip from relatives wouldn’t be good for either of you.”
Reese hesitated, unsure whether to accept or refuse, and finally asked, “Are all the Flynn family relatives coming today a hard bunch to please?”
Observing Reese’s perplexed expression, Malcolm found his wife charmingly naive. He chuckled and retrieved the gift.
“Yes, they’re tough. But since my wife dislikes pretense, just follow your heart.”
In his eyes, she was as pure as a mountain spring, untainted by artifice. He admired that she hadn’t adopted those false airs–it was better for her to remain true to herself, unscathed by superficiality.
Reese’s eyes nickered towards Malcolm.
“Aren’t you going to say anything?” he prodded.
Perhaps, just perhaps, she would break her silence and agree.
Unaware of his wife’s intentions, Malcolm’s lips curled into a mild, friendly smile.
“Nah, do what you want,” Malcolm responded with a relaxed demeanor.
Reese lowered her gaze to her phone, idly scrolling through it, while Malcolm discussed business matters with Justin, including the project that Reese had recently intercepted from him.
“Have you gotten to the bottom of it?” Malcolm asked justin.
“Yeah, I’ve dug up a bit. That guy Calvin is from Starlit Adventures studio. He appears to be a hacker too, but there’s no evidence he’s involved in the project. It seems like he might just be a decoy for someone else, trying to mislead us, Justin explained.
Reese, already messaging Calvin, swiftly slid her fingers across her phone’s screen. Hearing Malcolm and Justin mention Calvin’s name, she paused ever so slightly but didn’t look up.
She wondered if Malcolm was genuinely unaware of her involvement or intentionally bringing it up to coax information from her.
Looking up now would appear guilty–as if she had something to hide. Instead, she continued to type her message.
During the conversation, Justin glanced at Reese and noticed her casual expression. He and Malcolm exchanged a look before Malcolm turned to Reese.

Justin straightened up, thinking he had stumbled upon some juicy information, but Malcolm wasn t convinced. Even if Reese really knew Calvin, she wouldn’t admit it so easily. She was elusive, and things rarely turned out as expected.
No point in getting too excited too soon.
Reese’s response soon confirmed Malcolm’s suspicions.
“Isn’t he the owner of a gaming studio? Their games are pretty solid, but they’re full of bugs and glitches, always lagging or not loading. I need to complain to them at some point–I’ve spent a decent amount of money in their games.”
Justin groaned, pressing a hand to his forehead. “Reese, we’re talking about something else entirely.”
“Then what are you talking about? Reese looked at Justin, feigning confusion.
“We’re talking about—”
“Justin, just focus on driving,” Malcolm cut in, ending the interrogation.
On the brink of exasperation, Justin was about to burst out when Malcolm interrupted him with an icy command.

“Fine, you two chat. I’ll drive.” Justin felt that conversations she was playing dumb to gain the upper hand.

Malcolm rested his elbow on the armrest and propped his chin in h hand, gazing intently at his petite and charming wife. “Oh? My wife’s into online gaming now?”
“It’s just a way to kill time. I’m no CEO managing a million things. Reese replied with a laid–back ease.
“What do you know about Calvin? He managed to snatch away a project of mine with someone’s help, and I still can’t figure out who was involved. Honey, do you think I should meet up with him, maybe pry same information out of him?”
Malcolm looked into Reese’s eyes with what seemed to be deep affection, but only Reese knew it was anything but. He was actually hunting for the slightest flicker of expression she might reveal.

Considering herself more of an outsider, Reese replied impartially, “If you want to meet him, just go to his studio. Why are you telling me? You know exactly what my role at your company is and how much I’m paid.”
Asking her for advice was like clutching at straws in desperation.
Her words amused Malcolm, who playfully twirled a strand of her hair, a smile twinkling in his eyes. “How about you become-my assistant? A personal assistant, huh?”
As he spoke, he leaned in close, his cool lips grazing her earlobe, breath hot and teasing, prompfing an involuntary instinct in her to pull away-
But the car was too confined. She had nowhere to escape, encased in this small space by Malcolm.
His presence was overwhelming, invasive, and the temperature seemed to rise–or perhaps it was just Reese feeling tense. Her cheeks burned with heat, and Malcolm, now curious, leaned in closer, his voice rising playfully.
“Wife, you’re blushing.”
Feeling comered, Reese lifted her chin, clinging to her last shred of dignity. ‘It’s just too warm in here.”

“Really?
She felt nearly delirious, wishing he wasn’t so close, his scent all around her. Looking at his ruggedly handsome face, his cool and seductive lips, she felt a flicker of desite….
She decided to give him one more chance.

There was a subtle hint of coercion in her voice.
Malcolm raised his eyebrows in challenge: “Nope.”
A mischievous glint sparkled in Reese’s eyes as she reached for his collar and pulled him into a kiss…
Justin caught the scene in the rearview mirror, his jaw nearly hitting the floor. “Holy smokes!”
Reese had just planted one on Mr. Flynn; talk about turning the tables!
Malcolm was momentarily stunned. Reese initiating a kiss was unexpected since she usually shied away from even touch.

After having her fill, Reese released him, her eyes slightly hazy with satisfaction–Malcolm’s flavor was more than agreeable, a perfect match for her taste.
Besides, he was always the one taking liberties with her; it was high time she took the initiative. Reese preferred dictating the pace, feeling more secure when in control.
With a ripple in her gaze and a pleased smile curving her lips, she teased, “Can you let go now?”
Malcolm’s lips quirked devilishly. “No, because I don’t like being overpowered.”
As soon
as he finished speaking, he flipped the script and kissed her again…
