Chapter 184 The Great Escape–1
The warmth radiating from Malcolm’s fingers as they gently grazed the back of her hand sent a ripple of amusement dancing in his
“Would you mind terribly if I joined you?” he asked.
A delicate smile tugged at the corners of Reese’s lips, an indication of her slowly melting resistance towards Malcolm. She shook her head in response, her voice soft yet firm, “No, your presence would only give them an excuse. Besides, I doubt you’d enjoy the spectacle that’s about to unfold.
Malcolm’s suggestion had been nothing more than a tease, a fact both he and Reese understood. Reese was on a mission to teach a lesson, and Malcolm knew that if he accompanied her, Nancy and her gang would undoubtedly twist the narrative, painting them as bullies backed by the formidable Flynn family.
Malcolm encircled his arm around her, his lips brushing her forehead in a fleeting kiss. “Go on, darling, make sure they have no ground to stand on.”
Reese’s giggle echoed in the air at his words, “This isn’t a video game, you know?” With a determined stride, she began her journey towards the backyard, fully aware that Alyssa wouldn’t want to miss the unfolding drama and might be following her. Reese had already sensed Alyssa’s presence but chose to remain silent.
Before she could get far, Dahlia’s whiny complaints filled the air. “Mom, what were you thinking agreeing to Reese’s absurd demands? It’s bad enough you agreed, but why drag me into this mess?”

A sudden urge to punch something surged within Dahlia. Accustomed to a life of luxury and pampering, she was unprepared with such menial tasks. Nancy, too, had never done such work, and the forced labor was making her seethe with anger. Dahlia’s complaints only added fuel to her raging fire.

“If it weren’t for your harebrained schemes, we wouldn’t be here, becoming the laughing stock of the Flynn family. This is all your doing! You had the audacity to pull such a stunt on the Flynn’s territory!”
“Is that my fault? If you hadn’t spilled the beans to Malcolm, would we be stuck doing this grunt work?”

Their habit of blaming others when things went awry, without taking a moment to reflect on their own actions, finally wore down Silva’s patience. “Can you two stop bickering already?!”
Both Dahlia and Nancy were taken aback, turning to Silva in surprise Dahlia felt even more wronged by Silva’s outburst, “Silva, why are you being so harsh? You’re usually so gentle, what happened today?”
Silva’s face was etched with frustration. “You have the audacity to ask? I warned you this wouldn’t work, but you insisted on your way. Now, not only have we failed to separate Reese and Malcolm, but you’ve also made us all look foolish. Dahlia, can’t you think before you act, just once?”
“What do you mean I didn’t think? I didn’t do this alone. You agreed to it at the time; why didn’t you object then?”
Reese watched their amateurish squabble from afar. They were no match for her; manipulating them was child’s play.

A staff member approached with a hose, catching sight of Reese and greeting her respectfully. “Mrs. Flynn.”
Hoeses eyes sparkled at the sight of the hose, her mind already formating a new plan. Hand that over to me.”
“But… Mrs. Flynn, aren’t they capable of doing it? It’s just watering me

Reese smirked, “I’d rather do it myself. The backyard’s filth is overwhelming; it needs a thorough cleanse.” Alyssa, hidden behind a

The gardener, albeit slightly confused by Reese’s words, handed over the hose. I’ll leave you to it then, Mrs. Flynn,” he said before taking his leave.
Once he was out of sight, Reese watched the bickering trio with a mischievous grin. With a swift twist of the valve, a powerful jet of water shot towards them. Dahlia, who had been berating Silva, was knocked off her feet by the force of the water, landing with a painful yelp.
“Ah… who’s spraying me?!”
It wasn’t just D
Dahlia. Nancy and Silva were d equally soaked and disoriented, barely able to open their eyes.
“Who the hell thinks it’s funny to mess with me? They must have a crath wish!” Silva snarled, seething with rage.
Reese was enjoying the spectacle from a safe distance. “How’s it feel, folks? Refreshing, isn’t it?”
Dahlia finally spotted Reese. Her dress clung to her like a second skin, revealing more than she intended. Her cheeks flushed with a mix of anger and embarrassment as she shouted at Reese, “Reese, you crazy woman! Turn off the water, now!”
Nancy, too, was livid, forgetting her usual composed demeanor as she railed at Reese. “How could you do this, Reese? We’re family!
Turn it off now!”
But Reese showed no signs of stopping. The water continued to pour out like a fountain, blinding Dahlia and Nancy as they flailed and complained, their predicament growing more pitiful by the second.
Alyssa, still hidden behind the tree, laughed even harder. Reese’s move was pure genius, delivering a well–deserved lesson to the hypocritical duo. Did they really think they could bully the Flynn family on their own turf and get away with it?
Reese feigned innocence as she teased them. Turn it off? I can’t do that. If I don’t wash away all this grime, how will my plants ever
thrive?”
“You’re going to regret this, once I tell Dad about what you’ve done. If you don’t stop now, I swear I’ll go to Malcolm and let him know what kind of wife he’s married!” Dahlia screamed, her voice shell enough to pierce the sky.
Reese was unfazed by Dahlia’s tantrum. “If you like, you can go tell him now. That’s hilarious. They ran like frightened rabbits. It couldn’t be any funnier…”
Dahlia was so infuriated by Reese’s smug expression that she was almost physically distorted, her voice hoarse from yelling. “Reese, you’re taking Malcolm’s goodwill for granted. You’re way too cocky.”
Reese’s lips curled up slightly. “Haven’t you heard? Those who are loyed can afford to be fearless.”
Had Malcolm been there instead of Dahlia, things would have been more than a mere splashdown. Nancy could hardly stand it either. Stumbling over, she grabbed Dahlia’s wrist. “Are you nuts? Let’s get out of here. Stop wasting time arguing.”
Before Nancy dragged her off, Dahlia threw a parting shot at Reese. We’ll see, Reese. This isn’t the end–Ill get even with you for today.
Seizing the opportunity, Reese blasted them with the hose again, and Dahlia felt like her face was about to twist out of shape. Alyssa finally emerged from behind the tree, snatching the hose from Reese’s hand and chasing after Dahlia and the others towards
the front gute
“Running away so soon? Why not rinse off a bit more before going?

Just then, a taxi pulled up to the curb. Dahlia hastily signaled it to stop, and the three of them crammed inside, creating a comical
Scene.
Watching the taxi drive away, Alyssa turned off the water. That’s hysterical. They ran like scared rabbits. This is just too funny…”
Reese approached from behind, her hands clasped behind her back, her voice laced with mockery. The show’s over, and now you show up?”
