Chapter 23 Can’t Embarrass You
Reese naturally didn’t want to tick Malcolm off. If he got mad, it wouldn’t end well for her. She nff right now was a no go.
Honestly, sometimes men
still needed him big time in the Flynn family, and pissing him
men were like kids and needed some sweet talk, especially guys like Malcolm with their big egos. They needed even more buttering up.
She slowly lifted her head, a smile spreading across her face, her eyes twinkling.
Babe, my bad. I shouldnt have caused you trouble, but that fat dude pushed me too far. If I backed down out there, wouldn’t that make you look bad?–
Malcolm’s heart softened when she called him “babe.” Looked like slu
was ready to butter him up.
He wasn’t mad at her; he was just worried shed get hurt. If he, Malcolm, couldn’t even protect his own wife, it’d be a joke if word got out.
Malenim
kept a straight face, hiding the storm inside him.
You’re pretty slick with words. You know how tough Isaac is; even the guys at the company don’t mess with him. And you, a girl, dared to take him on. Also, at your husband, how come I didn’t know you knew martial arts?
Reese looked up, grinning.
“Well, you never asked, did you?”
“Well, I’m asking now. What else don’t I know about you? Spill it.”
His eyes were deep, staring right at her. Reese, who was used to facing all kinds of challenges, actually felt a bit guilty.
Those eyes seemed like they could see right through her.
She dodged his gaze. “There’s really nothing else I’m hiding from you. I picked up some martial arts cause my grandma was worried I’d get bullied in the village, so she sent me to a teacher to learn some self–defense.”
“Are you sure it’s just a bit of self–defense?” Malcolm kept pushing, not ready to drop it.
Reese chuckled. “Well, I kinda
ended up
up with a black belt by accident.”
Malcolms eyebrows shot up. His wife was a Taekwondo black belt? Did this mean she might throw hands if they had a fight? Why did he suddenly feel like his personal safety was on the line?
Reese caught onto his thoughts and quickly waved her hand to explain.
“But don’t worry, I won’t use it on family. Besides, you’re my first husband, so I’ll definitely be good to you.”
Hearing this, Malcolm gave a wicked smile, a dangerous glint in his deep eyes.
“One husband isn’t enough? How many more do you want?”
Reese’s heart skipped a beat. Oops, she had misspoken again.
Reese quickly corrected herself. “Sorry, I misspoke, lust one, only you.”
Malcolm’s cold fingertips pinched her chin, his deep eyes filled with icy coldness.
“Yeah, that’s what I mean. You can only have me.
Heese shot back, “What if you betray me in the future?”
“I won’t.” He answered firmly, his eyes dead serias.
Kerse waved her hand, smiling as she said, ‘I was just asking casually.”
She úrver really thought about being married to Malcolm for a lifetime, nor did she want to pin all her hopes and the rest of her life on a man, an unreliable
However, she planned to be good to Malcolm while they were married.

Malcolm gave her a once–over. “You hurt anywhere?”
Reese shrugged it off. “How could he even hurt me?”
If they weren’t at the company, she would ve already turned Isaac into a meat patty. :
Sering her confident look, Malcolm couldn’t help but smile.
“Yeah, seems like it. Who could hurt you with those martial arts skills?”
A Taekwondo black belt–he’d better watch himself in the future to avoid getting his butt kicked if he ever made her mad. But……. Reese didn’t seem to know: how many tricks he had up his sleeve. Once his leg healed, he’d have to show her.
Reese figured she’d been in there long enough. If the employers outside got the wrong iden, it would lead to gossip. She wasn’t afraid of trouble, but it was best to avoid it if possible,
“Til head out now.”
“Okay,” Malcolm let go of her hand.
As she reached the door, Reese seemed to remember something and turned back to him.
Tonight, I have a treatment and need to soak in some medicinal water. Don’t work late.”
Malcolm’s eyes softened unusually. “Okay,”
As soon as Reese stepped out, she ran into Justin. They nodded to each other and went about their business,
Justin pushed open the office door and went in.
“Mr. Flynn.
“Is the issue with Isaar resolved?” The softness on Malcolm’s face instantly turned to indifference, as if Justin had just imagined it. But it was Reese’s private matter, and he didn’t want to pry.
“Yeah. The person above him is trying hard to protect him.”
Justin was talking about the guy who had brought Isaac into the company, someone from another department. Malcolm hadn’t dealt with it because recently, this guy had landed a big contract for the company. Plus, he was a veteran employee, and it wouldn’t be good to hurt the old–timers‘ feelings over this.
What made it even trickier was that this guy was a relative of Malcolm’s grandfather, making it even harder to handle. Since the position wasn’t particularly high, Malcolm had let it slide.
But today, he wasn’t planning to let it go because Isaac had messed with his wife. His wife had been bullied right under his nose–no way he was letting that
slide.
Malcolm’s long fingers tapped lightly on the desk, his profile especially cold and hard, like it was covered in frost.
“Deduct Isaac’s salary for this month and announce his actions to the entire company.”
“But… Mr. Flynn, isn’t that a bit harsh?”
Justin hadn’t expected Malcolm to change his mind. Normally, he wouldn’t personally handle such minor issues; it was usually left to the subordinates Could it be because of Reese…
He didn’t get what Malcolm saw in Reese. She wasn’t particularly good–looking. Today, she was dressed nicely, but that face was still hard to look at.
Malcolm shot lum a cold glance, his attitude domineering
Can anyone in the Hymn family be bullied so easily?”
This statement scared Justin into quickly lowering his head,
“… I’ll get right on it.”
