Dahlin tose to her feet with a suddenhess that startled the room. “What are you doing here? Following me?” she exclaimed, her voice echoing off the walls.Reese, unfazed, responded with a dismisse laugh. “Do you really think you’re worth my time to follow? Who do you think you are?” The words hung in the air, a challenge it unanswered Dahlia’s face turned pale, her gaze shifted to Malcolm. “She’s been following your she accused, her voice a whisper of disbelief. Malcolm, although initially taken aback by Reese’s presence, quickly regained his composure. “Reese, what brings you here?” he asked, his voice steady despite the tension in the room. Reese met his gaze with a cool, detached response. “Do I need to report my whereabouts to you?” His question was left unanswered.Malcolm remained silent, his gaze fixed on Reese, Dallas expression soured; Reese was treating her as if she were Invisible. What made Reese think she was so mighty?Suddenly, Reese turned to Dallia, lier eyes narrowing as she scrutinized her from head to toe. After a moment of piercing silence, she spoke. “You sure have a lot of opinions. Didn’t you have some rich guy to bait? Better spruce yourself up a bit. With the way you look now, who wouldn’t dismiss you outright?” Reese sneered, her words laced with mockery.“Reese, you- Dalilia began, raising her finger towards Reese in protest but Reese swiftly knocked her finger away without an ounce of sympathy. “You think you have the right to point fingers at me? Reese scoffed, her voice filled with disdain. At that moment, Calvin silently pulled his hat down lower and discreetly made his exit. Dahlia was furious with Reese’s attitude; why was she being treated as if she were insignificant? Everything Reese had should rightfully be hers! Malcolm, they were all deceived by her!Ever since Reese had appeared, Malcolm’s gaze hixin’t left her, fils eyes seemingly glued to her form. After a moment of silence, he finally spoke. “Reese, 1…“The truth is out there; no point explaining it away!” Reese crossed her arms and tilted her chin towards Dahlia. At that, Dahlia blurted out hastily, “See, I’m right, aren’t I? She married you with ulterior motives; she doesn’t love you!” “Shut up!” Reese’s gaze turned fiercely cold as she looked at Dahlia, her lips curving into a smirk. “What’s up? Do you love Malcolm? Tell me, what do you love about him?“Dahlia mind raced with thoughts, but words eluded her. In a panic, she glanced at Malcolm. To her dismay, Malcolm wouldn’t have even bothered to give her a proper look!Reese stepped in, pretending to be kind, “Don’t you have a boyfriend? What was his name again, Sam something? Why are you meddling in other people’s business, even though you have a boyfriend? Aren’t you just the saint?“A few tables over, patrons sipping their coffee chuckled. Truth be told, they had been watching the commotion allong, never expecting such bold words from someone who, on The outside, appeared to be so detached!Dahlia’s face flushed. It was as if she were a cat whose tail had been stepped on. That Reese, why wouldn’t she just disappear? With that, Dahlia picked up her coffee and flung it at Reese, thinking spitefully that it was all because of Reese’s face. If only her face was ruined, no man wouk hover around her!Suddenly, someone sprang into action, as if anticipating Dahlia’s move. They knocked the coffee cup, and the contents, meant for Reese, splashed onto Dahlia’s face instead.“Ah!!! Dahlia screamed, her face scorched red, her elegant har dripping with coffee, her makeup smeared. The coffee had just been served to Malcolm and was still steaming hot. Malcolm had known the moment Dahlia reached for the cup what the foolish woman intended and had reflexively splashed it back at her Reese stood her ground, not even blinking. She had no regard for Dahlia’s cheap tricks and was about to give her a taste of her own medicine when Malcolm surprisingly beat her to it, acting even faster! You wicked woman!” Dahlia’s face twisted grotesquely, her ruined makeup making her look like a clown. Some customers at the nearby tables couldn’t resist taking out their phones to snap pictures of Dahlia.
Dahlia seethed internally, attributing the current disaster to Reese. Her voice dripped with venom as she spat out, “No wonder no one cares for you, no one loves you! You deserve to be alone!” The dangerous flash in Reese’s eyes was a clear warning. Dahlia had crossed the line by bringing up a painful memory–Reese’s deceased grandmother. In a swift, rage–fueled motion, Reese advanced and delivered a stinging slap across Dahlia’s face. Her cheeks flushed a deeper shade of red, a testament to the force Reese had to exert when dealing with a woman of her stature. Dahlia’s swelling was a visible confirmation of this. You’re looking even more frightened now, aren’t you?” Reese taunted, casually wiping her hands with a napkin she had picked up from the table. “You…” Dahlia began, only to be interrupted by the sudden intrusion of Silva’s voice. She whipped her head around, her eyes brimming with tears as she saw Silva approaching. She looked like a damsel in distress, her vulnerability on full display. Reese couldn’t help but roll his eyes at Dahlia’s dramatic shift. “…” she stammered. “Reese, you’re here too? Everything alright?” Silva chimed in before Dahlia could voice her grievances, his attention instantly diverted. Malcolm, standing off to the side, squinted thoughtfully. Had Reese also invited him?Being ignored by Silva was something Dahlia couldn’t accept. She tugged at his sleeve, her voice trembling, “I’m fine, Reese didn’t mean to hit me!” “That’s impossible! Reese ist that kind of woman, Silva–stated firmly. “I did it on purpose!” Reese retorted with a nonchalant shrug, raising an eyebrow. Silva was momentarily taken aback by Reese’s blatant attitude, but still persisted gently, “Dahlia, there must be a reason for Reese’s actions, did you do something wrong?” Dahlia’s eyes bulged in disbelief; how could Silva say such a thing? She was supposed to be his girlfriend! Jealousy and rage clouded Dahlia’s judgment. It wasn’t enough that everyone seemed to gravitate towards Reese, but now even her boyfriend appeared to be under her spell! Overwhelmed, Dahlia lunged at Reese, who deftly stepped aside, leaving her to crash onto the floor. Undeterred, she rose to slap her, but Reese quickly caught her arm, pinning it behind her back–immobilizing her. After a moment, Reese released discarding something filthy. That’s enough, Dahlia,” Silva intervened. “Maybe you should head home and change. Then, tutto Reese, he offered, “Reese, shall I give you a ride?” Dahlia was rendered speechless, her eyes ablaze with escalating fury. Reese’s lips curled into a sardonic smile. “You’ve got to be kidding me. Your girltrend’s standing right there, and you’re offering me a ride home? What are you thinking?” Silva seemed immune to Reese’s ridle, insisting, “Let me take you. It’s on my way anyway.” Silva had instantly noticed that there was something off about Malcolm and Reese’s dynamic, his keen perception didn’t miss a beat. Reese, however, couldn’t care less and simply turned around and left Unexpectedly, Silva dashed after her, leaving Dahlia standing
