A spark seemed to ignite in Sophia’s eyes as she began to unravel the hidden layers of his statement, the sting on her cheek momentarily forgotten.

Victor rolled his eyes in exasperation. “Are you dense? How could you and Reese be in the same league?”
“What are you really trying to convey?”
Sophia had always felt something amiss about Reese, but she could never quite pinpoint it.

He waved his hand dismissively. “Just let it go, alright? Just remember. Reese is not someone we can afford to antagonize.”

Their standoff continued until a security guard entered, likely alerted by the commotion.

Victor Strong and Sophia Linden were utterly flabbergasted and, within ten minutes, they were escorted out by security after causing quite a stir at the office.
At the entrance, Victor and Sophia unexpectedly crossed paths with Reese. Reese had just stepped out for a coffee, feeling a bit sleepy and in need of a pick–me–up. Little did she know, fate would have her cross paths with Sophia.

Reese looked back with a chilling smile and meaningful eyes.
“You seem to have misunderstood me,” Reese said. “You see, once someone repeatedly crosses my line, I can no longer show them any kindness.”
It was true Sophia had said a few things to Reese’s face, but that was already a major transgression.
She was never one to take things lying down. Sophin had done it before, and since she insisted on heading into the line of fire, Reese felt it would be remiss not to send her off properly.
Sophia was livid at the response.
“Are you out of your mind, Reese? Office gossip is normal, isn’t it? What, no one’s allowed to speak about you? Who do you think you are? Just some small–town girl from Backwoods trying to act all bigh and mighty… Ah…”
