Fall in Love with the Dominant Billionaire
Chapter 254 – I’m No Pushover–1
What of the Flynn family’s kin? Will they not be drawn into wild conjecture? Will the press not delight in dissecting every facet of Malcolm’s public existence? Are you equipped to manage and mitigate the ensuing fallout?” Reese’s inquiries were not mere idle musings, but rather, an examination of Inevitable events, particularly given The Flynn Group’s ascending trajectory and ambitious
“I understand the firm is aligning with global standards, embarking on a fresh enterprise. Do you not fear that this scandal could blemish your reputation and erode the trust of your clientele?”
Reese’s words plunged Finn Sawyer into a contemplative silence, his re gradually ebbing away, rendering the room eerily quiet.
Vincent perceived the outcome with crystal clarity. Reese’s eloquent persuasion, combined with their family’s business acumen, signified that their interests were paramount. Any interference with the company’s profits was non–negotiable.
Reese was a revelation–an ostensibly ordinary woman, yet filled to the brim with a formidable inner strength. It was no wonder Malcolm safeguarded her like a treasured jewel. Vincent knew he wouldn’t relinquish her without a fight either.
Everly, unable to discern the endgame, was far from compliant. Overcome with emotion, she didn’t hesitate to retaliate against Reese. “Don’t you dare swagger in here, throwing your weight around she retorted, radiating the confidence only a Flynn could muster. “Do you perceive the Flynn family as some insignificant entity? We’ve weathered far more severe tempests than mere hearsay. Even without those few contracts, the Flynn Group will rebound with superior opportunities.”
With her characteristic haughty demeanor, Everly turned to her grandfather, the patriarch Finn Sawyer, and scoffed, “Grandpa, pay no heed to her drivel. She merely refuses to sign the divorce papers and is desperate to exploit Malcolm to ascend to the matriarchal throne of the Flynn family.”
Reese couldn’t help but smirk at Everly’s irrational tirade. With a nonchalant flick of her hair, she taunted, “Everly, are you confused? I have no need to undermine my husband 1 am, without question, the matriarch of the Flynn family.”
Her voice dripped with arrogance, yet her eyes sparkled with unwavering g self–confidence. Everly seethed, her teeth grinding in rage. If only she could humble Reese; she yearned to rip off that counterfeit mask of hers.
Feeling Reese’s dismissive hum, Everly’s glare intensified. “You dare to be so audacious in Grandpa’s presence? Have you lost all respect for the head of the Flynn family?”
Her taunt was a blatant provocation
Alyssa observed the heated exchange with a surge of victorious exhilaration. At home, Everly’s biting remarks had always left her speechless, forcing her to swallow her grievances. But now, Reese, quick–witted and razor–sharp, delivered retorts that left Everly flustered and at a loss for words. The spectacle was thrilling to behol
Unperturbed by Everly’s challenge, Reese wore an expression of shee indifference. Everly’s petty schemes were child’s play in her eyes—a mere game of house.
“If I lacked patience, I wouldn’t be indulging your little performance Reese responded coefly. “I’m addressing you, not Grandpa. And a word of advice–keep your underhanded schemes to yourself. the press catches wind of your designs on my husband, you’ll plunge the Flynn family into a scandal. Could you manage the fallout then?”
“I…” Everly was at a Joss, flustered and rendered speechless. She knew Reese had a way with words, but she couldn’t refute t Incisive remarks, nor could she swallow her pride.
Alyssa had to stifle a giggle as she watched Everly’s face turn a motted shade of green and white. Pinned under the weight of awkwardness, it was clear that she was having a hard time.

Alyssa wore her emotions on her sleeve and couldn’t hide her feeling even if she tried, and this situation seemed to pry an honest reaction out of her yet again,
“Everly, sometimes I just can’t figure you out,” Alyssa said with a shape of her head. “Even if you and Malcolm aren’t related by blood, to everyone else you’ve always been siblings. Imagine the field day the press would have if it got out you’ve fallen for your brother. I mean, what would people think?”
It was glaringly obvious to Alyssa; why couldn’t Everly see it? Some relationships are just not meant to be. Sure, Malcolm treated Everly like a sister, but even if he did have a tiny bit of those feelings for her, it would never work out.
Their grandfather would never approve, and it would only lead to ugler scenes
For Everly, her love for Malcolm was a thorn in her heart, all the more painful now that Reese had called her out on it in front of everyone, leaving her with nowhere to hide her shame.
Suddenly overwhelmed, she let out a piercing scream, “Everyone just shut up!”
“Everly! Stop this foolishness!” Finn Sawyer’s stern voice sliced through the tension.
Malcolm, cognizant of the time, saw no merit in prolonging the drama. “Grandpa,” he addressed Finn Sawyer, “Reese is right. If the Flynn Group can adeptly manage this situation, that’s commendable But creating such a ruckus over something so trivial…
Finn Sawyer’s lips were a tight line, his complexion a telltale sign of his pent–up frustration. It seemed to him that these two had deliberately conspired against him. It was a rare moment of feeling cornered,

Vincent rose from his seat first, “Grandpa, it’s getting late; I’m going to head up to rest.”

Jason quickly concurred, “Yes, Sir, your health hasn’t been great lately. You should rest too. Matters concerning and Mrs. Flynn can be discussed later. After all, it’s not a trivial matter.”
Alyssa chimed in with a light touch, “Exactly, Grandpa, best to get some rest soon. Overworking isn’t good for your health.”
With everyone offering him an escape route, Grandpa Flynn had little choice but to concede. Reese made a valid point; the Flynn Group was at a critical juncture, and any negative publicity at this time could have significant repercussions for the company. Well, it seemed all they could do was buy y some more time.
Reese was nothing like the gentle and virtuous partner Finn expected – he instead had married someone who was not only dominant but even outdid him in pride.
Finn Sawyer slowly rose. “You all should head to bed early too, his ice wavering
Everly couldn’t believe Finn was letting it go that easily, and in frustration, called out, “Grandpa…”
But Finn Sawyer silently retreated to his room, leaving Everly seething alone.
Alter Reese had defused the situation, she sweetly turned to Malcolm “Darling, let’s return to our room.”
Everly, already upset, felt a pang of jealousy as Reese flaunted her affection in front of her. It was as if her heart was being stabbed with a knife.
Malcolm tenderly brushed Reese’s hair, “Let’s go rest.”

Just as Reese and Malcolm were about to turn the corner, Reese deliberately looked back at Everly and winked–a clear provocation
