Observing her discomfort, Malcolm deduced the source of her pain. Your back aches?” he inquired.
She nodded in affirmation.
“Didn’t I caution you last night to allow me to take the lead? But you insisted on challenging me. You see now, that’s not a fask for a woman, is it?” he teased, implying that the dominant role was a man’s duty. Why not simply recline and enjoy the ride? Why engage him as if it were a contest?
Reese’s competitive spirit was not easily tamed. “I’m merely out of practice,” she retorted. “Give me a few days. Then we’ll engage in round two.”
Her remark nearly sent Malcolm into a fit of laughter. His handsome features split into a broad grin as he pulled Reese close, his laughter resonating warmly throughout the room, his body convulsing with each chuckle. Reese had never seen Malcolm laugh so freely and openly, especially with a laugh that sounded so appealing.
Laughter has a way of spreading, and this was one of those instances Watching Malcolm laugh so heartily, Reese found herself joining in.
She gently patted his back, asking, “Is it truly that amusing?”
“Hilarious,” Malcolm managed to say between bouts of laughter.
Reese felt a twinge of embarrassment at his unrestrained mirth.
“Cease your laughter…”
“Alright, alright, I’ll desist. I wouldn’t want my wife to feel embarrassed. From now on, no more jests of that nature; I could literally perish from laughter.”
Still amused, Malcolm affectionately ruffled Reese’s hair.
Reese responded in a half–joking manner, “Well, I’ll simply find a new husband then.”
“You wouldn’t dare…“`
Malcolm cupped Reese’s cheeks in his hands, his tone firm and possessive.
Seeing his earnest demeanor, Reese understood just how much she meant to him.
She smiled, “I’m merely teasing you.”
Malcolm finally released her, “You’re mine and I’m yours. Don’t even entertain thoughts of anyone else.”
Reese considered herself to be quite dominant, but Malcolm’s excessive possessiveness made her question whether their union was a blessing or a potential disaster.
Just then, a cautious knock sounded at the door.

“Understood.
He rose, opened the door, and was greeted by Justin, who harely dared to meet his gaze.
Mr. Flynn, I’ve completed the task you assigned. Reese may need to visit Brooks Corporation this morning
After all, Reese was now the majority shareholder of Brooks Corporation.
“Understood, she’ll depart shortly. Could you request a day off for her to avoid any comments from Everly later?
While he could disregard it, he didn’t relish constant nagging.
Justin nodded, ‘I’ll attend to it immediately.”
When Malcolm returned to the room, Reese was ready, dressed in a white business suit that highlighted her elegant figure, embodying both femininity and a sense of seriousness without any clash of character.
He raised an eyebrow in surprise, “You overheard?”
“Yes, I’m prepared to put old Mr. Brooks in his place.”
She was not one to let matters slide easily, even harboring a slight grudge. Malcolm affectionately pinched her cheek, his eyes filled with tenderness. In Reese’s presence, he softened, revealing the gentlest side of himself–a side reserved solely for her.
“Alright, you’re free to do as you please, but remember, no matter what transpires, you have a husband standing behind you. Don’t attempt to bear everything alone, understood?”
Reese was touched by his words, which seemed to fill her heart to the brim.
She nodded, no longer resisting his care as she once did.
“I understand, I’ll contact you if anything arises, alright?”
“That’s my girl. Are you still in pain? Would you like me to accompany you?”
Reese tilted her head, “Are you referring to my back or my head?”
Malcolm chuckled: “Both, I suppose.”
“Well, my back is likely worse.”
She had pushed herself to the limit the previous night, not considering the consequences. This morning, her back was so sore she could barely stand upright.
Fortunately, she had maintained her physical training; otherwise, she might not have been able to even rise from bed today.
“Should I massage it for you?” Malcolm’s hand gently rested on her tender waist, his touch soft.
Reese hadn’t anticipated that just a few gentle rubs from him would actually alleviate her discomfort, although it was growing late.
“It’s time for me to depart.”
She was eager to see the stern, pale face of Kenneth.

Malcolm followed closely, taking her hand, and they exited the Flynn residence together.
Behind them, Everly, witnessing their affectionate display, nearly erished her phone in frustration, her expression fierce. Why was Reese granted such a privilege? She had been the one by Malcolm’s de the longest.
Love truly didn’t care about who arrived first.
But observing them so enamored every day was something she couldn’t bear. Moreover, what made Reese so special that Malcolm treated her in such a manner?

Everly shot Alyssa a disdainful look: “You’re delusional. You spend all day engrossed in video games and still expect to find a boyfriend? Perhaps online, but beware, there are plenty of fraudsters there. You wouldn’t want to be deceived, ending up making `wedding dresses for others.”
Alyssa was not oblivious to Everly’s sarcasm. She was always the family’s little troublemaker. It was her duty to roast others; nobody else dared to confront her with such banter.
“I may be single, but at least I’m not desperate enough to pursue my brother. When we, the Flynns, welcomed you, it certainly wasn’t with the intention of you marrying Malcolm. But you should’ve known, if you even had a glimmer of a chance with him, could you really wait for the real Reese to enter the picture?”
“You…” Everly was so incensed she wanted to slap Alyssa across the face. Alyssa’s words were becoming increasingly outrageous. What kind of spell had Reese cast on her to make her so disloyal to her own kin, siding with an outsider?
Everly scoffed, “So you’re merely supporting that woman because she’s helping you gain more fans for your online games? Deceiving those poor, misled followers into tipping you? At least my affection for Malcolm is genuine. What about you? Relying on someone else’s gaming skills to maintain your facade? Your tactics are far from commendable.”
Alyssa was speechless, taken aback by Everly’s retort.
She was livid but at a loss for how to counter Everly’s attack and could only stare in frustration.
Everly regarded Alyssa as if she were pitiful.
“Here’s a piece of advice–Grandpa detests Reese, and you’re the only one blind to it, treating her like she’s some treasure. Do you genuinely believe she’ll remain with the Flynns forever?”
