Chapter 284 The New Shareholder
Everly slid into the plush seat of her eat, her mind a whirlwind of crusion and Indignation. Alyssa’s nudacious words schoed in
and het care. * stark reminder of the woman’s growing arrogance. It seemed Alyans had grown too comfortable in her alliance with Reese, even daring to disrespect Everly.
This situation was untenable. Alyssa needed to be reminded of herce before she forgot who she was dealing with.
Everly dialed a number, the line connecting almost Instantly: A male voice greeted her, “Miss Everly, how may I assist you?”
Locate Alyssa’s streaming account,” Everly commanded, “then reach out to her fiercest competitor. Inform them that Alyssa has been using a stand–in for her games, that she’s not the gamer she purports to be.”
“Understood.”
“And remember, Everly added, “my name must not be mentioned.
The last thing she needed was Alyssa seeking retribution.
“Of course, Miss Everly.”
With the call ended, a wicked grin spread across Everly’s face. Alyssa, she thought, let’s see how you handle this blow to your reputation. This is the price you pay for choosing Reese over your own family.
In truth, Everly wouldn’t have resorted to such measures if Alyssa hadn’t become Reese’s puppet, opposing her at every turn. But if Alyssa wanted to play dirty, Everly was more than willing to reciprocate.
Meanwhile, Reese was on her way to gramintas
pain.
Brooks Group with Malcolm, who had insisted on driving despite her protests about his back
Upon their arrival, Malcolm turned to Reese, “Call me when you’re done. If I’m free, I’ll come pick you up. If not, I’ll send Justin.”
Reese, ever the independent spirit, dismissed his concern. “I can take a cab back.”
Malcolm didn’t respond, instead, he patted her shoulder. “Just remember to call, okay?”
Reese understood his insistence. Being cared for wasn’t such a bad thing, she mused. “Just be careful on your way back.”
“Here are the documents,” Malcolm handed her a stack of papers. “Kenneth might give you a hard time, and the content-”
“I know,” Reese interrupted with a smile, accepting the papers before he could finish.
Malcolm was momentarily taken aback by her swift response before remembering, “I forgot–my wife is the boss of Emerald Isle, a legend in the medical field, and a shining star in the gaming world. Im sure you can handle a simple shareholders‘ authorization document.”
He listed her accomplishments, half–teasing, half–probing, curious to see how she would react.
Both of them were smart enough to avoid certain topics, not yet ready to disrupt the delicate balance between them.
Despite their close relationship, neither Reese nor Malcolm were willing to take a reckless step. Their caution was a testament to the value they placed on each other.
A meaningful smile danced in Reese’s eyes as she tenderly cupped Malcolm’s face, planting a quick, fleeting kiss on his lips.

it I don’t go in now, those shareholders will probably want my heat on a platters
If they dare… Besides, my wife can stand up to Grandpa Flynn him if, what’s there to fear from a few measly shareholders?
His words weren’t just blind faith; Reese had a sharp tongue and at to match. Except for those she chose to ignore, she had no real competition.
Flattered by his words, Reese couldn’t help but feel a smug satisfaction, her lips curling into a smile.
“I’m heading in.”
“Good luck, honey. I hope you come out on top.”
Malcolm ruffled her hair affectionately, leaving Reese with a warm feeling in her heart.
She had always been steady, unaffected by affection. But Malcolm’s relentless kindness had managed to stir her heart. She doubted anyone else could have had the same effect.
Reese strode confidently into the Brooks Corporation, only to be intercepted at the reception.
“Excuse me, miss, who are you here to see?”
Reese glanced at the receptionist, her cool gaze causing the woman to falter.
“I’m your company’s new shareholder, Reese,” she replied.
The receptionist had heard rumors of a sudden change in the company’s ownership that morning. A mysterious acquisition of shares had taken place, and a new shareholder was set to join their ranks, wielding significant authority, second only to Colin.
The receptionist was supposed to notify Colin before allowing Reese access, but something about Reese’s commanding presence convinced her that Reese was indeed the powerful new stakeholder.
Perhaps it was worth the risk. This could be the influential figure who might remember her favorably in the future.
The receptionist’s face lit up with a smile. “Right this way.”
Reese was swiftly escorted to the elevator and whisked away to the boardroom.
Inside, disgruntled shareholders bombarded Kenneth with questions,
“Colin, what’s going on? How did our shares get bought out overnight, and so forcibly at that? We didn’t even get a chance to react,” one shareholder voiced their concern.
Typically, a share purchase required the seller’s consent, a price negotiation, and a signed contract. Now, they were left with bank accounts unexpectedly filled with money and dwindling shares.
Arriving that morning, they were greeted with an announcement at the company’s entrance, introducing a significant shareholder joining them that day, leaving them all bewildered.
“Colin, shouldn’t you have discussed this with us? Our shares were snatched away overnight,” another shareholder demanded.

Kenneth was beside himself with frustration. In all of Atlanta, only Mateolm had the means to pull off such a feat
That man had made good on his word to vouch for Reese, he shell out a heavy price. It was madness.
Renneth was just as upset but had to maintain his dignity. Revealing the truth to the shareholders was out of the question; it would be too embarrassing.
So, he gritted his teeth, swallowing his pride and frustration.
“Sorry for the short notice, everyone. I didn’t get the chance to fill you in properly, but our new shareholder is none other than my daughter–and Mrs. Flynn of the esteemed Flynn family–Reese,
The shareholders were baffled.
“Colin, you’ve got this all wrong,” one of them said. “It’s understandable that you’d want to bring your daughter into the company, but swiping our shares without so much as a by–your–leave to give to her–that’s just not right,”
“Yeah, the least you could do is ask if we were okay with it.”
“It’s downright shady, what you’ve done.”
