Fall in Love with the Dominant Billionaire
Chapter 290 The Breaking Point
Reese stealthily approached Dahlia Brooks, her voice a chilling whisper as she delivered a warning. “Cross paths with me, and you’ll
the consequences. If you can’t stomach that, then hold your tongue.” She knew that bringing Dahlia to her knees would be a simple task.
Dahlia glared at Reese, her eyes burning with a desire to tear her apart, yet she was helpless. Even in a verbal duel, she stood no chance against Reese’s sharp wit.
She could choose to remain silent, but that wouldn’t deter Kenneth om probing further. This was a business, not a family affair, and such conduct, if allowed to persist, could spell disaster.
Kenneth, his gaze as cold and authoritative as a winter storm, pulled Dahlia aside. “What’s going on here? Did you really meddle ‘with the company’s finances?”
“I… I didn’t!”
“Then let’s review the recent financial reports. Do you dare?”
“I…”
Dahlia’s face hardened, her mind racing to find a way out. She rarely bothered with the financials; as long as the company’s funds were untouched, Kenneth had no reason to interfere.
She had planned to replenish the funds next month. Recently, her financial situation had become a source of embarrassment, even when dining out. The mockery that followed was unbearable. After all, she was “Miss Everly” of the prestigious Brooks family. How
could she be lacking funds?
Whether it was Kenneth’s increasing control or her extravagant daily expenses, she felt trapped.
Kenneth’s impatience was palpable. “Are you going to tell me the truth or not?”
“I’ll tell you… It’s just a bit of company money, nothing major.”
Kenneth’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Just how much is ‘not too much?”
“Just… just a hundred thousand.”
“Dahlia Brooks, have you lost your mind? You moved a hundred thousand dollars of the company’s money!”
Kenneth had made it abundantly clear, particularly to the finance department, that meddling with company funds was strictly prohibited. Now, the unthinkable had happened–his own kin was the culprit, tarnishing his reputation.
Struck by fear at Kenneth’s wrath, Dahlia kept retreating.
“Dad, I…”
“You disgraceful child!”
“Ah…”
In a fit of rage, Kenneth struck Dahlia Brooks, causing her to cry out in pain.
The shareholders remained silent; after all, Dahlia’s actions were damaging the company’s reputation.

Some even added fuel to the Tire.
“Dahlia, that’s completely unacceptable,” one of them reprimanded. If you’re short on cash, you could vo just asked your dad. Why would you meddle with the company’s funds? There are rules.
“Exactly,” another agreed. “What if we need that money in the future and it’s not there? Who’s going to bear the brunt of that?
“Colin,” a shareholder addressed another sternly, “you can’t simply cover for Dahlia because of this incident. It needs to be dealt with according to company policy.”
Hearing this, Dahlia’s heart pounded with feat, If the situation was handled by the book, she’d be dismissed.
Her life post–company was a looming uncertainty, especially since Kenneth had recently tightened his grip on her. Left with no other choice but to abandon her facade of dignity, Dahlia clung to Kenneth’s sleeve, her eyes filled with tears, begging.
“Dad, please, I didn’t mean for this to happen. I just… lost sight for a moment.
“Get out!” Kenneth roared. “You’re sorry now, but it took this long to realize? If your sister hadn’t spoken up today, how much more were you planning to swindle from the company?”
Kenneth reprimanded Dahlia, not forgetting to implicate Reese. It was clear that if Reese hadn’t exposed the matter in front of the shareholders, she might have dealt with it privately. But Reese’s public declaration made it impossible for her to protect Dahlia any longer,
Dahlia understood Kenneth’s implication–it was all because of Reese
Inside, she despised Reese. Armed with the name of Malcolm’s Reese and backed by the prestige of the Flynn family, she was acting above her station.
One day, when Dahlia married into wealth, even if she couldn’t confront the Flynn’s, putting Reese in her place wouldn’t be an issue.
Kenneth was at a loss. Who could have predicted that Reese’s arrival would throw father and daughter into such chaos?
He turned to face all the shareholders.
“While she’s my daughter, I won’t cover up her actions. However, considering her previous contributions to the company, I hope you can show some leniency.”
After a brief discussion, the shareholders considered Dahlia’s lengthy tenure at the company. Despite her occasional haughty attitude, her competence wasn’t in question.
Finally, they reached a unanimous decision.
“Well then, let’s have her stay on at the company for now,” the shareholder said decisively. “But she definitely can’t remain in finance; she’s already made a mistake there. We’ll need to issue a memo about this, set an example for the rest of the staff.”
Hearing this, Dahlia Brooks was instantly upset, her mouth barely opening to object.
“Dahlia, no matter what decision the company makes, you’ve got to follow it!”
Kenneth, anticipating the trouble she might stir up, cut her off before she could get a word in. Dahlia fell silent.
The shareholder continued, “Let’s demote her to an entry–level position then.”
Dahlia’s eyes shot up, this time utterly indignant.

“What? An entry–level position!”
She was already ranked below Reese, and now being reduced to entry level, her days at the company were not going to be easy.
Reese chuckled from the sidelines. “Oh, not happy unless you’re fired? Frankly, I was in favor of termination.”
“No need, I’ll abide by the company’s decision, Dahlia countered quickly upon hearing the threat of firing.
The last thing she wanted was to

be actually fired. Where would she go? With her temper, who would put up with her?
Kenneth knew what Reese was up to. It was obvious she was doing this deliberately. Keeping Dahlia at the company was more advantageous to her; she could torment her whenever she wanted.
Reese seemed insignificant before, but now, she was untouchable.
Kenneth sighed. “Alright, let’s end the meeting here. The memo regarding Dahlia’s disciplinary action will be distributed immediately as a warning to the staff.”
After the meeting, Reese packed up her things leisurely, looking quite pleased. Once the shareholders and Kenneth had left, Dahlia approached Reese, her teeth gritted and eyes blazing with anger.
“What did I ever do to you to deserve this?”
Reese paused in her review of the documents, lifting her eyes indifferently, her voice as cold as ice.
“Have you truly forgotten, or has today’s shock affected your memory too? Haven’t you crossed me enough times?”
