A silent exchange of glances passed among the women.

“What’s so amusing, Ladies? Don’t you understand? Moreover, my husband doesnt consider me out of his league. Why do you all presume to think so? Do you genuinely believe any of you, or your daughters, could possibly be a better match for him?
“Why don’t we settle this, then? Send your daughters my way, and evaluate them on behalf of my husband. Let’s see if them can surpass me in being the ideal partner for him.”

He was taken aback by his spirited young bride’s confidence, even to the point of scouting for his potential new spouse,
Indeed, the wife he had chosen was a marvel, a woman who thought outside the box, a
captivating partner not easily found.
The man speaking to Malcolm sensed his distraction, which slightly irritated him. However, he dared not voice his displeasure; Malcolm was a significant figure in Atlanta, not someone to be trifled with.
Noticing Malcolm’s gaze fixed on the figure in green not too far away, he added with a smile, “The lady in the green dress must be Mr. Flynn’s Reese. Indeed, she is breathtaking–a perfect match for M. Flynn.”
Malcolm acknowledged the compliment. “I believe my wife is perfectly suited for me as well–an ideal match.”
The man recognized Malcolm’s protective stance, realizing he was dealing with someone fiercely loyal to his wife. The high society ladies lacked the savvy to avoid provoking Malcolm’s beloved. The fallout from tonight’s events was unpredictable.

It became clear that future interactions with Malcolm required a different strategy–not through business, but through
wife.
The people around them were surprised to see the usually resolute and rational Malcolm being such a doting husband. It was astounding.
Wasn’t he supposed to be the stoic enforcer? Yet, here he was, displaying a tender side, baffling to all.
“Indeed. Reese has struck gold. Mr. Flynn is wealthy and comes from prestigious family. Not only is he faithful, but he also dutes on his wife. The more I see, the more I realize my husband doesn’t compare. It makes me want to trade up.”
You’re right. I always thought rich men couldn’t satisfy a woman emotionally, Well, here’s a perfect example. Every other man here probably frels overshadowed.”
“Im so envious. Now I want to leave my own husband. But where on earth would I find someone as wonderful as
Mr. Flynn?”
Reese was unaware of Malcolm’s presence; her mind was entirely focused on teaching
g these gossiping women a lesson.

The wealthy socialites recalled when Reese beckoned their daughter forward, unsure if her confidence stemmed from pure self- assurance of indifference about her husband’s fidelity.
The atmosphere.
ie grew tense until Abby, unable to resist, interjected with a sarcastic remark:
“Reese, do you genuinely believe that becmise Mr. Flynn bankrupted Sawyer Enterprises for crossing you, you’re irreplaceable? It’s a positive attitude, certainly, but as someone who’s been around, I should warn you to keep some bridges unburned. What goes around comes around. When your turn comes, you might find no one’s willing to lend a hand.“
Reese didn’t miss a beat, ‘Even if my time comes, I’ll never need any of you to pull me up. Besides, it’s foolish to worry about things that haven’t happened.
Given
her temperament, she would never beg anyone for help, even that day arrived.
With a few pointed words, Reese left Abby speechless.
But Reese wasn’t finished. She added
d fuel to the fire, And why do you assume that if Malcolm left me, I’d be left destitute?”
Someone interjected, “I heard that Brooks Corporation recently got new major shareholder, second only to Colin. This person” secured a massive contract for Brooks, one that even Colin couldn’t secure.“.
Abby was taken aback, “What are you saying? Brooks Corporation has a new major shareholder? How?”
“It seems someone bought out several shareholders‘ stakes overnight, consolidating them under this new investor. The deal sicred up controversy, but the resentment subsided after this investor secured a major project that Brooks had long struggled to win, boosting their influence within the company considerably.”
A hint of realization dawned on Abby, she asked incredulously.
“Don’t tell me you’re talking about Reese.”
“That’s right.”
That’s when
former Chamber of Commerce president Nicholas approached, greeting Reese warmly.
“Mrs. Reese.
She acknowledged Nicholas with a polite nod in return.
“Nicholas.”
Nick chuckled, “You must be joking, Mr. Reese. I’m hardly fit to be a chairman anymore. But you, you’re the picture of health. Haven’t heard from you since our last gathering at Emerald Isle. The place is thriving, thanks to you being at the helm.”
Reese smiled modestly, “Oh, Nick, you
flatter me. It’s all thanks to Archie’s tight ship; otherwise, I couldnt just kick back and relax.”
The onlookers were perplexed by their exchange, clueless about what they were discussing
“What are they talking about? Why is Nick calling Reese Mr. Reese, and what’s their connection to Emerald Isle?
How should I know?”
“Don’t you understand? Reese owns Emerald Isle.”

She tugged at Nick a sireve, still in denial. “Nick, there must be some mistake. How could she be the owner of Emerald Isle?”
“There’s no mittake,” Nick clarified. Emerald Isle had liven managed by a proky appointed by Mr. Reese. She’s always been low key and never liked to show off. So for years, we all thought Archie was the boss, but he wasn’t…
Abby felt like she had been slapped across the face,
Reese scoffed softly, “So, Mr. Abby, do you think I’m fitting for my husband now? I’ve heard your daughter is quite the belle, However, there have been those nasty rumors–said she got involved with a married man at such a young age, violating social
morals.”
Abby’s face turned pale with rage, her lips parting to retort. “That’s outrageoust My daughter is completely innocent. Unlike you, who-
