Chapter 317 She Tells You to Die
“Is there anything in particular you’re craving?” The softness in Reese’s voice was a stark contrast to her usual frosty demeanor, leaving Malcolm somewhat taken aback. He found himself wondering what she had been negotiating behind closed doors.
He sensed an unusual shift in the air, but couldn’t resist his wife’s tender approach and decided to play along.
“Anything you make will be a delight. As long as it comes from you, I love it.”
Even though Reese was aware that these were merely sweet nothings they still managed to bring a smile to her face. That trip had made her realize just how much Malcolm meant to her, far more than she had initially thought.
“Very well, but remember your words. Don’t back out if you find the taste not to your liking,” she warned, her voice laced with a hint of uncertainty. Reese was hesitant to praise her own culinary skills, worried that Malcolm might not be able to stomach her dishes.
However, Malcolm was too caught up in the joy of his wife’s promise to cook for him to consider any potential culinary disasters.
“Don’t worry, I wouldn’t dare refuse anything made by my wife,” he reassured her, his voice filled with anticipation.
“That’s exactly what I wanted to hear.”
After ending the call, Malcolm didn’t question Reese about her whereabouts or activities, and she, in turn, didn’t bring it up. They both understood the unspoken agreement between them.
He was confident that if Reese wanted to share something with him, she would do so without his prompting. And if she didn’t, no amount of coaxing from him would make any difference.
Justin pushed the door open, announcing, “Mr. Flynn, Reese has returned home safely.”
“Excellent. Check if I have any other commitments today. I want to clear my schedule.”
“Cancel? But you have a meeting with Green Mountain Corp today, and they’ve made time specifically for you. Isn’t it a bit rude to cancel at the last minute, Mr. Flynn?”
Malcolm shot Justin a sidelong glance, “You don’t understand. My wife’s cooking for me
Indeed, since their marriage, this was the first time Reese had decided to cook for him.
Justin was left speechless.

that’s a rare occasion.”
Upon her return, Reese crossed paths with Alyssa, who was descending the stairs, humming a cheerful tune. Alyssa didn’t waste a second before rushing up to greet her.
“Reese, you’re back!”
“Yes, and you seem to be doing well these past few days,” Reese observed, noting the radiant joy on Alyssa’s face. Alyssa had been eager to share her excitement with someone, but she knew better than to confide in Everly, who undoubtedly harbored ill intentions.
Crossing over, she confided, “Reese, you wouldn’t believe it, but I’ve gained a ton of followers these past few days. They really enjoy my livestreams.”
“That’s wonderful, but keep practicing. By now, you should know how to handle it, even without King’s help.
Alyssa’s smile broadened, “I owe a lot of it to you, Reese.”

“Continue with what you were doing. I need to check the kitchen for ingredients.”
Time was ticking closer to Malcolm’s return from work.
However, the moment Alyssa heard Reese mention cooking, she was taken aback with disbelief.
“Reese, you’re not actually going to cook, are you?”
“Yes, why not?”
Was it so strange that she wanted to cook?
“Oh my God, who inspired you to hit the kitchen? Was it Malcolm?” Alyssa asked, her voice dripping with disbelief. She had always thought that someone as aloof as Reese would never be caught dead cooking. It must take someone extraordinary to lure her into the kitchen.
As Reese walked toward the kitchen, chuckling at Alyssa’s astonished look, her smile was still rather subdued. Unlike Alyssa, who wore her heart on her sleeve, Reese always kept her true emotions locked away, rarely letting them show.
She flung open the refrigerator and began pulling out various ingredients.
“Cut the gossip and get back to your training,” Reese quipped without looking up.
“But I’m just trying to get to know you better, Reese. Did you hear about the drama Dahlia Brooks stirred up at the GlobalMacro Group’s party the other night?”
Alyssa had seen the headlines that shook Atlanta – they were nothing short of sensational.
Given Dahlia’s recent exploits, her quest for another wealthy suitor might prove challenging. But as they say, you reap what you sow. Why chase such drama instead of finding a genuine relationship?
Reese didn’t know what to make of Dahlia’s self–destructive antics. In the end, it’s essential for a woman to have her own convictions. Pursuing wealth and materialism blindly wasn’t the path to happiness.
Standing next to Reese, Alyssa glanced at the phone in Reese’s hand, which displayed a cooking app called “Bea
With a rigid smile, she teased, “Reese, are you sure you know how to cook?”
Calmly, Reese nodded. “Nope, never really cooked. Grandma did all the cooking.”
k Bites.”
Her grandmother had always encouraged her to prioritize education over household chores. Though Reese helped out, she never really got the hang of cooking.
Despite her attempts, it seemed culinary arts weren’t her forte, so she eventually gave up.
Alyssa gave Reese a thumbs–up, “You’re really going all out for Malcolm, cooking when it’s not your thing.”
Reese responded with a smile that didn’t reach her eyes.
“Maybe you should get a staff member to help. Otherwise, by the time Malcolm gets back, you might still be figuring things out,” Alyssa suggested as Everly walked in, overhearing the conversation and scoffing.
“Reese truly has nerves of steel; she let her sister take such a spill at the party and now she’s leisurely studying cooking here. Unless Reese feels she’s not quite the perfect Mrs. Flynn that the Flyn family deserves, and decided to pick up a few skills in advance. You know, just in case Malcolm ever gets tired of her and leaves her with nothing to hold onto.”

When Alyssa caught Everly’s sarcastic tone, her fiery temper flared up, and she quickly snapped back in Reese’s defense.
“Everly, do you just not feel right unless you’re stirring the pot? Haven’t you seen how well my brother treats Reese? There’s no way he’s going to dump her. Are you lost in some daydream, waiting for him to leave Reese so he’ll marry you? You might be getting a little ahead of yourself.”
Alyssa’s sharp tongue quickly turned Everly’s face a few shades redder as she stiffened her neck and retorted in a roar.
“Alyssa, why don’t you just drop the last name ‘Feng‘ and take hers? can’t figure out if she adopted you or gave birth to you, the way you pledge such loyalty to her. What, if she asked you to die for her, you’d do it willingly?”
“That’s just ridiculous, Everly. Why would Reese ask me to die? If anyone, she’d ask you, not me!”
“Alyssa, you…”
“Everly, maybe you should go practice your comebacks a bit more. Alone, you’re no match for me, let alone with Reese at my side. So, I’d kindly suggest you stop bothering us.”
