Fall in Love with the Dominant Billionaire
Chapter 327 The Reason Behind It All
“Rest assured, Reese, your secret is safe with me,” Louis pledged. Having collaborated with Calvin for an extended period, he was well aware of Calvin’s occasional recklessness. Louis‘ concern was not a reflection of Calvin’s unreliability, but rather a fear of his own potential to fumble, Calvin’s nature was simply that his nature and it was not something easily altered.
Reese’s decision had been made with careful consideration.
“As we journey to the Harmony Alliance, we must ensure Calvin does not accompany us. You must devise a method to divert his attention,” she instructed.
Louis‘ brow furrowed, taken aback by Reese’s decision.
“Reese, this won’t be a simple task. Calvin has been by your side the longest. He won’t easily accept being excluded, he warned.
Reese was well aware of Calvin’s unwavering loyalty, having been her steadfast companion for years. Yet, she remained firm in her belief that Calvin was not the right choice to accompany them on this mission.
“I understand the situation, Louis. That’s why I’m entrusting you with this task. We all have families, or at least relatives. Calvin, however, has no one but us,” she reminded him.
Calvin’s story was a tragic one. His father’s crippling gambling debts had driven his mother to suicide, and their relatives had abandoned him overnight, leaving him utterly alone.
Reese had first encountered Calvin when he was working for a local gang, trying to scrape together a living. His sharp wit and cunning strategies were seen by others as flaws, but Reese recognized them as potential strengths.
Those who had endured hardships often knew best how to reciprocate kindness. Despite his scheming nature, Calvin was not fundamentally flawed.
Above all, Calvin loved money. Reese respected those who valued wealth, seeing in them the potential for growth rather than complacency after minor successes.
Louis understood her reasoning. “Alright, Reese. I’ll take care of this. But if it’s just the two of us, will that be enough? I fear that if the situation turns dangerous, I might become a liability.”
Reese offered him a reassuring pat on the shoulder. “Don’t worry. We’re going there to negotiate, not to fight. They won’t harm us.”
Despite her reassurances, Louis couldn’t shake his anxiety. They had heard rumors of the Harmony Alliance’s recent conflicts with Nolan’s people.
Reese was a woman of extraordinary talent and courage. Louis had never met another woman who was braver than most men. Even when faced with intimidating situations, Reese always seemed prepared to forge ahead fearlessly. This was the quality Louis admired most about her. He knew that even if Reese asked him to walk into the fires of hell, he wouldn’t hesitate.
With a slight nod, Louis agreed. “I’ll start preparing.”
“Reese, I’ve discovered something. Shirley has definitely been spending Everly’s money. She’s been frequenting every major mall. And just as you suspected, Everly did give Shirley a bank card, someone informed them.
Reese nodded thoughtfully. “So, our suspicions about Shirley’s recent unusual behavior were correct.”
Calvin was eager to take action. “Reese, just tell us how we’re going to handle these two women. I can’t wait
Louis playfully slapped Calvin on the back. “Can you tone down your enthusiasm a bit? It’s unsettling.

Calvin shot Louis a glance. “Site was going to kill herself for opposing Reese. Anyone who harms Reese is our enemy.”
Louis rolled his eyes, making light of Calvin’s fervor. “You’re practically a fanatic when it comes to Reese. Are you planning on staying single and working for Reese your entire life?”
Calvin lifted his chin confidently. “Why not? After all, no other woman compares to Reese.”
With Reese as their role model, the men in their secret base had developed exceedingly high standards. They held a particular disdain for vain women who sought to live off men’s wealth.
Reese quickly scanned the documents Calvin had handed her. Despite her rapid reading pace, she had an uncanny ability to remember every detail after just one glance.
“Enough with the idle chatter, both of you,” she scolded them. “Be serious. If others saw you behaving this way, I doubt you’d be
able to lead your teams effectively in the future.”
Upon exchanging glances, Louis and Calvin’s expressions shifted instantaneously.
Reese handed the documents back to Calvin, her voice laced with surprise. “I was unaware of the extent of Everly’s behind–the- scenes activities,” she admitted.
Calvin had already perused these documents during his investigation Reese’s revelation, however, did not excuse Everly’s manipulative actions.
“But that doesn’t justify her scheming against others for her own selfish gains,” Reese stated, her tone firm.
Despite her words, Reese harbored a certain degree of sympathy for Everly. Over the years, Everly had struggled with her position within the Flynn family. Witnessing the joy of another family while feeling like an outsider herself had been a harsh reality for Everly. In an attempt to be taken seriously, she had put on a strong public facade. Such an environment had undoubtedly affected Everly’s mental health.
Yet, Reese’s sympathy had its limits. This wasn’t the first time Everly had targeted her, and Reese was determined to do what she
wanted.
“Calvin,” she instructed, “send these documents to the media. They’ll surely spin an intriguing tale.”
A tale akin to Reese’s own story.
Calvin’s eyes sparkled with understanding and excitement. “I’m on it, Reese,” he assured her.
After discussing plans to visit the Harmony Alliance with Louis, he too busied himself with ensuring his current work was in order.
Unbeknownst to Reese, her recent actions had piqued Malcolm’s curiosity. While she was engrossed in her preparations, Malcolm was conducting his own investigation.
From his office on the eighteenth floor, Malcolm gazed out at the towering building, his mind preoccupied with Reese’s recent unusual behavior. He was determined to uncover what Vincent had disclosed to Reese and why she seemed so distracted lately. Despite her attempts to conceal it, Reese was only human. She couldn’t hide everything flawlessly.
Just then, Justin entered the room, accompanied by a man named Everhart.
Everhart and Malcolm had met previously, though they were not well acquainted.
“Malcolm, here he is,” Justin announced respectfully.
“You may leave,” Malcolm dismissed him.

“Understood.”
Justin harbored no concerns about Everhart causing any trouble for Malcolm. If anything, Everhart would likely he no match for
him.
Once justin had departed, Malcolm addressed Everhart.
“Please, have a seat.”
Everhart was not intimidated by Malcolm, but he chose to mask his feelings towards the man who was Reese’s husband.
Everhart wasted no time in getting to the point. “Why did you summon me here, Malcolm?” he asked.
