Chapter 344 Partly Cloudy to Clear Skies
Reese was on the verge of closing her eyes, she could only shake her head at Alyssa.
“I don’t know, maybe he’s in a good mood today.”
“How is that possible? Even if Malcolm is in a good mood, at most he would work overtime today for himself. How could he let the employees take a day off? It’s so strange. Could it be because of you Reese?”
Alyssa, knowing her brother well, believed that only Reese, this special presence, could make him change his principles.
Besides that, Alyssa couldn’t think of any other reason.
Upon hearing this, Reese was stunned for a few seconds, then said to Alyssa, “Are you suggesting that Malcolm intentionally gave the employees a day off just so I could come back to rest?”
This sounded ridiculous.
Just for her to get some sleep? He could have just come back to sleep himself, and giving all the employees a day off would cost a lot of money. What was this man thinking?
Alyssa helplessly shrugged, “Besides that, I really can’t think of any other reason.”
Reese stood still for a moment, feeling that pondering this question was a bit of a waste of brainpower.
“Never mind, I’ll think about it when I wake up.”
With that, Reese went straight upstairs.
Alyssa watched Reese leave, smiled to herself, feeling happy for the favored one. She never expected Malcolm, who was usually so calm and composed, to be so impulsive when it came to matters of the heart.
If her grandfather found out, he would surely have something to say. Fortunately, Malcolm could handle her grandfather; otherwise
Reese would be the one to suffer from his recklessness.
But Reese was not one to be trifled with.
After entering her room, Reese fell into a deep sleep, waking up only after five in the afternoon. After washing her face, she finally felt awake.
Reese grabbed some fruit, opened her laptop, and prepared to finish the work at hand. The robot project she was previously in charge of seemed to be selling well lately, and she was preparing to align it internationally. If successful, this project would further elevate her career.
However, Alyssa’s words had plunged her into contemplation. Would Malcolm really do all this for her…?
If that were the case, Reese felt even more burdened in her heart. If Malcolm did all this for her, and she once again interfered with his project, she wondered if he would find out it was her doing. But she didn’t hold out much hope; sooner or later, the truth would come out. The key was to wait until she had resolved matters with the Harmony Alliance.
While lost in thought, Malcolm called her. Seeing his name flashing on the screen, her heart raced.
She used to answer Malcolm’s calls normally, but for some reason, she felt nervous this time.
Yet she knew she couldn’t ignore the call; after all, she had done something wrong and feared Malcolm might ask about it.

After a moment of hesitation, she slid to answer, “What’s up?”
“Are you at home, darling?” Malcolm didn’t ask what Reese was doing, but he knew she must have gone back to catch up on sleep.
“Yeah, I was sleeping.”
Reese admitted openly.
“I bought some food, I’ll be back soon. Get ready to eat.”
Malcolm guessed that Reese must have slept straight through and was probably starving.
It was better not to mention it; as soon as he did, her stomach started growling.
She was indeed quite hungry.
“Okay.”
After hanging up, Reese stared at her phone for a few seconds, still unable to come up with anything, so she let it go.
She decided to focus on the task at hand first; she could deal with these matters later.
Half an hour later, after she had finished tidying up, Malcolm had already returned, carrying a box of food. As soon as Reese went downstairs, she caught a whiff of the delicious aroma, making her stomach even more excited.
Malcolm handed all the food boxes to the nearby staff.
“Transfer it into a bowl.”
Because it was all in plastic containers, it wasn’t very healthy to eat directly from them.
The staff complied.
Reese couldn’t quite understand what Malcolm was thinking today. Even Reese, who prided herself on reading others‘ emotions, had a slip–up today.
Reese asked candidly, “Why did you buy so much food?”
“Aren’t you hungry?” Malcolm replied firmly.
“But you had already bought it before asking me about it.”
This proved that he didn’t buy it after asking her.
Malcolm chuckled and ruffled Reese’s hair, “You’re not cut out for working in the company; you should be a detective.”
“Why did you suddenly give the employees a day off today?” Reese still couldn’t let go of her doubts.
Malcolm put his arm around her shoulder, his handsome features revealing no hint of anything amiss; everything seemed so
natural.
“It’s normal. I felt like those employees hadn’t had a day off in a while.”
Reese raised an eyebrow, “Is that all?”

“What else could it be? Can you think of a better reason?”
Malcolm seemed to be joking with her rather than discussing a serious matter.
Realizing that talking to him was futile, Reese decided to let it go. Whether Malcolm was giving her a break or for some other reason, she trusted that he wouldn’t harm her. In that regard, she was still confident.
“Well, I can’t think of anything. Let’s not dwell on it; I’m going to eat first.
Reese casually brushed it off, and Malcolm tacitly followed suit.
Coincidentally, at that moment, the staff brought out the dishes, and both of them sat down.
Looking at the dishes in front of her, all of which she liked, Reese turned to Malcolm with a gentle smile.
“Thank you, Honey.”
Upon hearing the endearment, Malcolm was momentarily stunned, then his eyes lit up with a smile, and his mood lightened considerably.
The staff couldn’t help but speak up at the sight.
“Look at the smile on Master’s face, Mrs. Flynn, you are truly Master’s lucky star. We didn’t see Master smile for months before you married him. Since you’ve been with Master, he’s been smiling more and more.”
Malcolm accepted the praise without resistance, his proud expression evident as he fed Reese a piece of Dongpo pork.
“My wife is my joy, with her around, every day is partly cloudy to clear skies.”
Reese had never imagined that she could bring happiness and hope to someone else. In the past, she never expected others to bring her anything, and she was even afraid of it. If someone could control her emotions, it meant that her fate was no longer in her hands but in the hands of others.
