Reese’s eyes flickered with some weird emotion. Last time with Mack, she thought Malcolm was just putting up
up with her, like he had no choice but to help. But now, at home, in front of his favorite siste. There was no need for him to fake it.
She always felt like nothing in this world was reliable. If there was anything, it was just herself, Now, suddenly, someone was standing up for her, and it threw her off balance.
But honestly, she’d rather Malcolm not do this. People tended to get dependent. If he kept this up and then one day just stopped.

“You guys just don’t get it. I think it’s better this way. At least he’s more lively now. Before, he was so cold, just looking at him gave, me chills.”
Everly heard them and shot a nasty glare, making them zip
real quick.
She turned back and glared upstairs. Just wait, she wasn’t gonna let Reese off easy. Not only did she steal the guy she liked, but she also had the nerve to cross her.
Back in her room, Reese sat at her desk, checking today’s stocks on her laptop. She heard the door close behind her and know without looking that Malcolm had followed her.
Malcolm walked up, his eyes showing a mix o
of boredom and curiosity.
“Didn’t think you had this side to you.”
Everly, like Alyssa in the Flynn family, was never messed with. Aider adored these two granddaughters who were raised with utmost care. But Everly was adopted, not a blood relative, so she was more strained and sensible than Alyssa in many ways.
But today, for some reason, she had a direct clash with Reese and even brought in a witch.

“No rush. We’ve got plenty of time. Long enough to see all your strengths and weaknesses.”
Reese felt there was something deeper in his words. She turned to look at Malcolm, whose deep eyes sparkled like a sly fox.

Just then, Justin knocked on the door outside. He didn’t want to interrupt, but it was
urgent.
Malcolm called out, “Come in.
Justin opened the door and scanned the room. Everything seemed chill. Reese was typing away at her desk, busy with something. her fingers flying over the keyboard. Malcolm was lounging on the bed, looking as bored as ever.
“Mr. Robbins from Tank Group just called. He wants to know if you free to hit up their wedding anniversary party tomorrow.”
Clifford Robbins from Tank Group had been tight with Aiden back in the day, so it made sense he’d invite them.
Malcolm’s eyes
drifted over to Reese, who was still glued to her computer.
Since it was a wedding anniversary party, bringing Reese along seemed like a good idea.
Justin had been with Malcolm for years. He couldn’t always read Malcolm’s mind, but he could usually guess what he was thinking from a single look.
Malcolm wanted to bring Reese, but with her current look, wouldn’t that be a bit of a disgrace to the Flynn family?
Even though Malcolm had trouble with his legs, it was still a no–goo bring someone who might lower their status.
He
suggested, “Why not take Miss Everly Flynn as usual? She knows lot of people and can help you out.”
If Reese went, she’d be clueless. She wouldn’t know the names or jobs of these industry bigwigs, and Malcolm would have to explain everything to her.
Unbeknownst to them, Reese heard every word of their conversation, Justin’s words were clearly looking down on her.
Since he underestimated her, she was determined to go.
While Justin waited for Malcolm’s decision, Reese suddenly walked over,
“Since its a wedding anniversary party, it’s only right to bring your wife. Bringing your sister might not be the best look.”
As she spoke, she instinctively locked eyes with Justin. When Justin met her gaze, he was startled. A flash of fear suddenly appeared
in his eyes.
How could she have such a look?
Before Justin could recover, Malcolm spoke up.
“Reese will accompany me
Justin could only nod. “Alright, Ill get the stylist to p
pick out outfits for Mr. and Mrs. Flynn for the evening.
Reese flashed a sweet smile. Thanks, Justin.”
For some reason, Justin got goosebumps from her smile. He forced
stiff grin.

After justin left the room. Malcolm suddenly reached out to wrap his arm around her waist. But before he could touch her, Reese swiftly dodged, her clear eyes turning cold and wary as she looked at him.

Malcolm clearly noticed that Reese was very agile, likely having trained for many years. Her sensitive alertness suggested she sensed his move the moment he made it.
Was this girl really just from the countryside? He had his doubts.
Or maybe her identity was more than it seemed, and she was hiding something from him.
This slightly rustic girl was becoming more and more interesting.
He raised an eyebrow and smirked. “I just wanted to hug my wife. Is there a problem? We are legally married.”
“Even
are legally married, you can’t act like this. We have no feelings for each other. Please respect me.”
Reese’s brows furrowed tightly, her face extremely serious, much like when she had just reprimanded Everly.
Malcolm’s lips curled into a devilish smile, captivating and alluring
“I remember someone holding my arm and affectionately calling me hubby last time. Have you become ungrateful so quickly?”
