Fall in Love with the Dominant Billionaire
Chapter 64 A Cure for Discontent–1
Reese was actually a bit taken aback – she hadn’t pegged Alyssa for someone who’d get so wrapped up in a childish game like ‘Arena of Valor. It’s just a bit of fun, but a squabble? She held her surprise in check, figuring it had nothing to do with her.
As she was about to leave, Alyssa’s ears caught another burst of male bravado from inside.
“Can’t believe you’re squabbling with me over this,” the voice sneered
Alyssa’s temper was already short fuse, and insults like that just lit her up. She threw caution to the wind and leapt into the fray.
“What’s the big idea, calling me out? Who do you think you are?” she shot back fiercely.
His voice grew cockier, “So what? Come at me if you think you can, rookie. You’re such a noob streaming and you still dare to step up? Look at your stats. You’ve lost every match against me.”
Alyssa was seething. Sure, she had lost before but that was because of lousy teammates – always stuck with dead weight dragging her down.
If only someone could help her turn the tables, she’d be eternally grateful.
Left with no other option, Alyssa bit back, “Have you no decency? Arguing like this with a lady?”
Laughter erupted on the other side. “Lady? If I hadn’t heard that tomboy voice of yours,I might have thought you’d gone through a gender transition”
“You-
Before Alyssa could finish her retort, her phone was whisked out of her grasp by a slender, pale hand that swiftly ended the call. Then she heard a voice, cold yet somehow melodiously pleasant.
“Just invite him to the game and stream it live,” the speaker instructed.
Turning around, Alyssa’s eyes widened in surprise at the sight of Reese.
“You jerk… How did you get into my room? Did you totally ignore grandpa’s words? No decency at all,” she accused.
Reese, with an air of indifference, asked her, ‘Do you want to win or not?
Was it Reese’s intense gaze or her own helplessness that made her want to reach out for help?
“But I can’t beat him.”
“I will
“You?!” Alyssa’s eyes bulged, “You Backwoods folks play Arena of Valor?”
The mention of Backwoods sent a smile across Reese’s face. “Backwoods isn’t in the dark ages. We have electricity, water, internet everything you city folks have.”
Feeling helpless and almost at her wit’s end with irritation, Alyssa resigned herself. After all, losing again wouldn’t be so different
from the usual.
Fine, I’ll trust you this once.”

Handing the phone over to Reese, Reese booted up the game and searched for her bold and boastful challenger who boasted the name “Undefeated Master.”
Reese almost laughed. With an ego that inflated, referring to himself as Master‘ was downright nauseating.
She first glanced at Alyssa’s in–game name.
“Bun‘? Really? Gotta work on that intimidation factor.”
She played her wild card and changed her screen name to “Queen of Comeback.”
The platform buzzed with excitement. Spectators everywhere were ready for the showdown.
Reese leaned over to Alyssa and chuckled, “There’s gotta be some skin in the game. Tell him if he loses, he’s gotta livestream calling me ‘daddy‘ in front of all his fans.”
Alyssa couldn’t help but laugh at the thought.
“Well, that sure sounds good. But are we betting too high here? I sure don’t want to be calling him ‘daddy‘ if you lose.”
“I won’t lose.”
Something about Reese’s unwavering conviction seemed almost innate, as if in that moment, an aura of gold wrapped around her, shining brilliantly.
Snapping back to reality, Alyssa threw down the gauntlet on the platform.
“Holy smoke! That jerk actually agreed.”
“He took the bait because he has no clue who the player is.”
Look at that arrogance…
Alyssa burst into laughter. “What’s the difference if it’s you playing? A loss will still look bad for us. I was pretty much in despair until I heard you. Now I can’t help but find it funny.”

Chapter 64 A Cure for Discontent–2
Reese didn’t blame Alyssa for doubting; after all, only Reese knew her own capabilities, and judging someone solely by their looks was pure folly and could lead to being outwitted with ease.
A defiant smile danced on her lips as she raised an eyebrow.
“Want to make a bet with me?”
“Bet on what?” Alyssa wasn’t intimidated by the young woman. Despite their similar age, Reese always had this air of mystery around her, acting like some enigmatic boss.
But sometimes, she quite pulled it off. That gaze was like a sharp sword, ready to cut through you.
“Let’s make it interesting.”
Alyssa rolled her eyes dismissively. “You’re not thinking I’ll call you big sis,‘ right? Dream on. You’re barely older than me. Plus, you just married into the family. For all we know, Malcolm might replace you sooner rather than later.”
Reese smirked. “That’s not likely. Malcolm’s totally committed to me now.”
“Quit flattering yourself. Malcolm’s a catch. Why he’s chosen you–a woman without connections, lacking degrees, and with quite the remper–I’ll never understand. It’s like you’ve married up into our family, and now we’re the ones reaching.”
Alyssa simply couldn’t stand Reese’s indifference, as if nothing, not even the sky falling, would faze her.
Not even Grandpa could intimidate her.
Reese shot back with confidence. “Malcolm married me fair and square, not as a concubine. Besides, I haven’t taken a dime from your family, nor am I eyeing a high position in your company. What’s there for you to reach for?”
Reese may come from humble beginnings, without the backing of an influential family, but she refused to let these external factors define her character. No outer circumstance was going to dictate how she felt about herself.
Even if I’m as insignificant as an ant, I’ve got to live a beautiful life, Not to cling to any man, not dependent on anyone else. When times get tough and you’re at your most helpless, the only one who won’t abandon you is yourself.
Alyssa was really having her eyes opened here, and she did so with such righteous fervor.
With a helpless shake of her head, she remarked, “You’ve got to be the most unconventional person I’ve ever met, in actions and words alike.
Cut the chit–chat and place your bet,” Reese quickly interjected, as game time was approaching.
Fine. Beat them for me and avenge my loss, and I’ll be your disciple
“Who needs another disciple? she scoffed, unimpressed. She already had plenty and wasn’t looking for more.
That hit a nerve, and Alyssa, hands on hips and full of defiance, retorted, “Hey, do you realize that there are very few people I admire in this world, Malcolm being one of them, and you’re just brushing me off?*
Okay, okay, I can’t think of anything else at the moment. Just thought a wager would make things a bit more interesting.”
Otherwise, she really wasn’t drawn to such low stake games.
Chapter 64 A Cure for Discontent–2
Alyssa, overhearing the game prompts, nudged Reese excitedly, “It’s starting!”
Reese redirected her attention to the smartphone screen. From the get–go, she had no intention of dragging the game out. After powering up to level three, her gameplay was fierce. Her moves, her anticipation of the opponent’s actions, frighteningly precise.
She anticipated all of Angela’s ambush spots as if the entire map was clear to her, as if she had some kind of divine vision.
Alyssa was astounded; every time Angela showed up, she was taken gut. Mid–game, the cursing started.
Reese ignored it, intent on wrapping up the game within ten minutes.
As the end neared, Reese scored a pentakill, and Alyssa was just short of leaping up to celebrate.
