Reese sneered, “I won’t agree to anything you ask.”
“Just stream one game of Arena of Valor for me every night, and you’ve got yourself a deal.”
Alyssa’s mind was buzzing with the prospect of Reese pulling in more fans for her. It was a gamble she couldn’t lose.
One week, Reese bargained.
“A week? No way.” Alyssa’s frown deepened. After a week, if she took over, it’d all be for naught.
“It’s completely unreasonable to expect me to stream for you every single day just because I crashed in your room for one night,” Reese retorted, feeling a bit cornered. Alyssa was all about good deals, never letting herself be on the losing end of a bargain.
Alyssa awkwardly scratched her head, seeming to recognize the logic in Reese’s argument. “Fine,” she conceded, “You help me with the streaming for a week, and I’ll figure something else out after that.” She was clearly playing for time.
“Let’s call it a night then,” Reese yawned, visibly exhausted by the day’s events.
Neither Reese nor Alyssa was used to sharing a bed, and that night they each clung to their own blanket, leaving a wide gap down the middle of the king–sized bed. Reese wasn’t particular about where she slept; any spot was fair game for her to catch some shut-
eye.
Curiosity kept Alyssa up for a bit, wanting to engage Reese in a bit of late–night chatter. “You know, you seem to have a real knack for gaming. I’m surprised you don’t have a stronger educational background. What’s your story?”
Reese’s info was full of fabrications–her true history remained a mystery to most, even to the likes of Calvin who were unaware of just how little she couldn’t handle. Once she set her mind to something, she’d go through hell or high water to get it done.
“Got too caught up in playing games to bother with school, Reese replied nonchalantly, barely giving it a thought as she gave Alyssa the brush–off.
Alyssa pondered over Reese’s exceptional gameplay earlier that night and mumbled to herself. “Guess that makes sense. If you’d been all about the books, would you still be gaming like a champ? But, why aren’t you crashing with Malcolm tonight? What, did he give you the cold shoulder or something?”
After a barrage of questions went unanswered, Alyssa turned to find to her amazement, Reese had already succumbed to sleep. Wow, knocked out in a flash!
In the dead of the night, Reese felt an unsettling presence inching closer, the air carrying a familiar scent. Suddenly awake, she swung around, her hand ready to strike at the intruder.
But he caught her wrist with ease, his deep–set eyes glimmering with a hint of amusement in the darkness. “Malcolm!” she exclaimed, her foot flying up instinctively towards him.
Malcolm, anticipating the move, held her ankle firm, his eyes twinkling playfully. “Sweetheart, you wouldn’t want to damage the goods. That would ruin your happiness,” he teased.
Fury flared up in Reese’s eyes as she spat out, “Shameless!” Shoving him aside, she jumped out of bed and flicked on the light. The room, once shrouded in darkness, was abruptly flooded with brightness. Malcolm lay on the bed, squinting against the sudden glare.
These lights are blinding compared to the ones in our room,” he muttered, still adjusting to the light.
Reese stood by the bed, grabbed her jacket, and slipped it on, her brow knitted as she watched the calm figure before her.

“Malcolm, what on earth are you doing in my room in the middle of the night?” Reese’s tone was exasperated but tinged with curiosity.
“You’re my wife. It’s not comfortable sleeping without you next to me, Malcolm retorted with a playful twinkle in his eye, a sly smile playing across his face.
Reese’s gaze swept the room, “Where’s Alyssa?”
“She’s downstairs in the living room gaming with some friends,” Malcolm replied, his voice light and his demeanor radiating positive
energy.

Chapter 67 Apparently, She Likes That Position–2
Speechless, Reese knew she should’ve never trusted Alyssa. Ever since they were kids, Alyssa was so easily intimidated by Malcolm- a stern look from him was all it took to fold. Reese felt betrayed.
All Reese had wanted was some peace and quiet, to be alone in her room and get some sleep, especially since she was feeling a bit off today. That Malcolm had managed to rile her up to this extent was unprecedented.
“I’m giving you two minutes to get out!” she said firmly, pointing to the door. Her usually serene and refined face now set in a mask of frosty resolve.
Initially, Reese had thought Malcolm was as cold and arrogant as she was–which would mean minimal social interaction between them. Turned out, he was quite different in private.
If it weren’t for her determination to clinch the Flynn Group project, she would have left already, making sure the Flynn family couldn’t trace her whereabouts.
With a fluid movement, Malcolm turned and sat in front of her. He reached out to guide her waist down, and Reese instinctively pushed to resist, surprised by his strength. Amidst their tussle, Reese stumbled on something, her body involuntarily leaning forward, landing on top of him.
Panic flickered in Reese’s clear, bright eyes.
Wasn’t she rejecting him? How did she end up on top of him, in such an awkward position?
Her heartbeat kicked up a notch.
Malcolm cradled her waist and let out a suppressed cough, which seemed suspiciously like a stifled laugh, then hummed meaningfully, “So the wife likes this position, hm?”
Reese’s cheeks flamed as red as ripe tomatoes, her neck stiff as she shot back, “I don’t like this position. Let go of me, Malcolm!”
“I can’t do that. If I let go, you’ll start fighting with me again, and if you get hurt, Darling, I’d be distressed.”
His voice was a low, pleasant rumble, and with the flicker of a smile in the corner of his eyes, he looked as devilishly charming as
ever.
Reese felt like her head was about to explode. She had met her, nemesis, her inner turmoil roiling.
Anyone else would have been sent packing by now, but here he was, shamelessly flirting with her.
“Malcolm, did you bring Master back to her room? I’m coming in,” called a voice from the other side of the door.
Alyssa had barely finished speaking when she pushed open the door and walked in, only to find two people wrapped in an awkward embrace.
She quickly averted her gaze, her voice a mix of excitement and surprise.
“How can you two be doing this in my room?”
Reese, noticing Alyssa’s arrival, hurriedly pushed Malcolm away. This time he let go. Reese smoothed her clothing and considered that if she didn’t return to her own room today, Malcolm wouldn’t ie the matter rest.
Continuing to sleep in Alyssa’s roten seemed pointless; she was a trator, one who needed no bribes from Malcolm to betray.

She stood and headed straight for the door, but paused as she passed Alyssa. Unaware of Reese’s close presence, Alyssa felt a chill run through her body as if encased in ice, trembling until Reese’s calm, cool voice broke the silence.
“Our deal is off.
Alyssa’s face fell, and she reached out, pleading with Reese.
“Please, don’t abandon me, Teacher. How will I ever explain it to all my fans?”
“That’s your problem. Reese disliked those who broke promises. Since Alyssa had violated their deal first, Reese felt no obligation to meet her commitments to Alyssa.
Alyssa didn’t dare to intercept further, fearful of getting lost in that piercing gaze again.
Ultimately, when Malcolm arrived, Alyssa had no choice but to beg him – her last lifeline.
“Malcolm, I’m begging you, please talk to your wife for me. I’ve already promised my fans. If I break my word, they’ll definitely unfollow me.
