Fall in Love with the Dominant Billionaire
Chapter 76 A Gentle Touch
“Did he catch you?”
“Just a lack of evidence, but if he starts to suspect, it’s going to make everything I do more difficult.”
If anything goes wrong with the Flynn Group, even if it’s not her doing, the blame would naturally fall on her.
This time, Calvin had really landed Reese in hot water.
“I’m sorry, you know I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed. I’ll stick by you and learn, okay? I love you, so please forgive me this time.”
“If there’s a next time, you’re off the team.”
Reese hung up the phone, fuming.
On the other end, Calvin was patting his chest, feeling like he just dodged a bullet.
When Reese arrived at their secret base, she pressed her fingerprint on the door lock and scanned her face before the door swung
open.
The so–called secret base was actually her original startup studio, where they conducted operations too sensitive for the public eye.
As Reese pushed the door open, a line of people inside rose to their feet and greeted her in unison.
“Miss Brooks.”
The respect in their voices was palpable.
Reese raised her hand to quell the formalities, “Cut the ceremony, let’s get down to business. I’ve secured the project from the Flynn Group.”
Calvin ran over, gripping Reese’s arm in admiration.
“Reese, how did you pull it off? That’s incredible, to get the project details right from under Malcolm’s nose. Where are they?”
The others couldn’t help but snicker at Calvin’s overzealous approach.
Someone teased, “You’re like Miss Brooks‘ number one fan.”
Calvin shot them a glare, “Back off! I’ve been with Reese the longest. She’s not just my boss, but family. If it wasn’t for fear of her darling getting jealous–jealous of my dashing good looks–I’d follow her to the ends of the earth.”
Reese’s face was stern, her delicate features betraying no hint of amusement.
‘I called you here for serious matters; I’m short on time.”
The room fell silent, with only Calvin continuing to babble, “Reese, come on, show us the project details so we can start preparing.”
“It’s all up here,” Reese tapped her temple.
Calvin’s eyes widened in disbelief, “You memorized everything!*

Reese slapped him on the back of the head.
You’ve been with me long enough to know better. Malcolm’s file cabinet would trigger alarms throughout the building if any electronic device got too close. Do you think I could have walked out of that building if I’d used my phone to take pictures?”
Lucky for her, she had heard about this special cabinet beforehand, she would have been caught red–handed by Malcolm.
Calvin scratched his head, now understanding the gravity of the situation.
“Reese, I’m sorry, I won’t let you down again.”
Reese gave him a withering look, “You’ve let me down enough already.”
“Yeah, yeah, I know, I’ll cool it. Let me give you a shoulder rub, ease the tension.”
Calvin quickly came over to knead her shoulders and massage her legs.
Reese turned to the tall, slender man with delicate features.
“Louis, I need you to find a woman who can pose as my college friend. Malcolm will surely investigate. Also, take the project details I’ve given you and study them closely. We need to start on this project before the Flynn Group does.”
Calvin carefully broached the subject, “Reese, if your darling finds out you’ve blatantly stolen their company’s project details, won’t he retaliate?”
Reese scoffed, “Retaliate against me? The person capable of that hasn’t been born yet. Besides, who’s to say it wouldn’t be me taking
care of him?”
The room erupted in laughter.
Louis, who was usually reserved, blushed at the banter.
Reese was used to joking around with them; they were like family, so there were no holds barred.
“Get the job done right, or find your own way. I’m tired of babysitting you all, always causing me headaches.”
Calvin stood up straight, responding earnestly,” Will do!!”
Louis affirmed, “Don’t worry, Miss Brooks, we’ll handle it.”
Reese typed everything she had memorized into the computer as the others gathered around in awe.
“Miss Brooks, your memory is just phenomenal. It’s like you’ve got a photographic memory or something…”
“You don’t know the half of it. I bet she even remembers every mole on her darling’s body”
Reese raised her hand to swat at Calvin again, but he dodged with a laugh.
“Hey, hey, a girl should be gentle, no hitting.”
“One more peep out of you, and I’ll shut you up for good.”

After delegating the remaining tasks, Reese made a swift exit. With Malcolm’s suspicions aroused, lingering too long would only invite trouble.
