Fall in Love with the Dominant Billionaire
Chapter 87 Time for Action
As Reese walked into the office, she hadn’t even punched in when she ran into Isaac. He had been scarce around the office ever since their last confrontation, keeping a low profile. Surprisingly, he was here today, and as he passed by her, his face was a mask of displeasure, not even bothering with a greeting.
Reese was the kind of person who could outdo anyone in a battle of pride. To her, Isaac was hardly worth a second thought, especially after having bested him before.
She had just scanned her card and was about to hit the elevator button to close the doors when she heard Justin call out, “Reese, hold up!”
He hurried in, panting heavily. Reese casually asked, “Just got back?”
“Mr. Flynn had me fetch some documents, and he wanted me to tell you he’s waiting in his office,” Justin said, still catching his
breath.
“Waiting for me?” Reese was puzzled. There didn’t seem to be any reason for him to want to see her during work hours.
“Yes.”
“Did he say what it’s about?” She had other tasks to attend to and planned to use her lunch break to dig into Jason Tartt’s affairs.
“You’ll find out when you get there,” Justin replied, not daring to speculate.
“Alright,” Reese said, not objecting. In the company, Mr. Flynn was her boss, and she respected the chain of command.
Justin pressed the button for the seventeenth floor and followed Reese into Malcolm’s office.
Malcolm Flynn sat in his executive chair, dressed in a sharp black suit that gave him an air of serious business acumen. He exuded an aura of pride that made most people wary of approaching him. Reese had seen many successful people in her life, but few possessed the imposing presence that Malcolm did, especially those eyes that seemed to intimidate with their piercing gaze.
Justin hesitated at the door, unsure of what was about to unfold inside.
“Mr. Flynn, Reese is here,” he announced.
“Okay, you can leave us,” Malcolm’s voice was low and magnetic, echoing pleasantly in the spacious office.
Justin quickly nodded and exited. As Reese closed the door, Malcolm gestured for her to come closer with a subtle, almost seductive
tilt of his eyes.
“Come here.”
Reese was not one to take orders lightly. She stood her ground, arms crossed, gazing at Malcolm with an air of indifference.
“If you have something to say, just say it. I can hear you just fine from here.”
“I have something to discuss that shouldn’t be overheard,” he said mysteriously, insisting she come closer.
Reese, who had been mentally preparing to investigate a matter, but also had pending work, reluctantly approached.
“Speak.”
She had always been indifferent to him unless Malcolm played a certain card. Otherwise, Reese remained as calm as a still lake,

completely undisturbed.
Malcolm felt a twinge of frustration. Was he not good enough, not handsome enough, or lacking in charisma? Why did his wife seem as impassive as an iceberg that couldn’t be melted?
Perhaps, he mused, it would take a more personal touch for her to warm up to him. But that was a minor challenge. They were, after all, husband and wife; fostering affection was just another task on his list.
He cleared his throat subtly, “I heard you’ve been name–dropping me around town. You even dragged your sister to the funeral home?”
Reese’s bright eyes instantly darkened, and she gave Malcolm a cold fleeting glance.
“Alyssa told you, didn’t she?”
She should have known better than to trust that girl.
Malcolm raised an eyebrow. His demeanor softened when he addressed Reese as a hint of warmth crept into his usually icy gaze.
“So, using my name without permission is off–limits now?”
Reese’s eye twitched at his gentle tone. She was used to more straight forward, brash communication. Malcolm’s tenderness made her wary; she feared drowning in his gaze and losing herself in a charm she may never escape from.
She needed to stay alert to carry out her remaining plans.
“Should I let Dahlia slander me openly and tarnish the reputation of the rightful wife?”
Malcolm’s lips curled into a sly smile as he reached for her delicate hand, his voice laced with pleasure.
“So, my wife is jealous?”
Reese recoiled at his words, instinctively pulling her hand back.
“I’m not the jealous type.”
“Don’t I deserve to be the object of jealousy?”
He reached to pull her closer, but Reese sidestepped his advance.
Why was he always so eager to embrace her?
“There’s nothing that can affect me that deeply. Our marriage is merely a mutual arrangement. You want me to help you recover, and I’m here to fulfill a promise. It’s best not to harbor feelings that shouldn’t exist.”
She knew men could easily detach from their emotions, while women often found themselves at a disadvantage, becoming pitifully entangled. She refused to become one of those women.
She constantly reminded herself to guard her heart, knowing that the moment she allowed herself to feel, she would be doomed to suffer a crushing defeat.
Malcolm was curious, “You’re barely in your twenties and haven’t been around many men. How can you be so sure your husband is unreliable?”
“It’s simple. You’re a man. If you were a woman, maybe I’d have a shred of trust. But men like you rarely také feelings seriously. All

you men do is chase fleeting thrills. If you don’t want me mentioning your name in the future, I can apologize for this incident.”
Reese was stern, but Malcolm’s lips twitched with amusement.
“Alright, apologize to me. But I don’t want just words. I want action
Reese’s expression turned icy, “What do you want me to do?”
Malcolm tapped his lips thoughtfully, “A kiss will suffice for forgiveness.”
