Chapter 12
The head of the Department of Stomatology stepped forward, his patience clearly wearing thin. “Are you all mistaken about Director Clarendon?”
“Director Clarendon is a married woman, and from everything we know, she shares a wonderful bond with her husband. How could she possibly be meddling in your relationship with your boyfriend? Miss, are you sure you aren’t confusing her with someone else?”
“Exactly!” a nurse chimed in, nodding emphatically. “Her husband is someone quite remarkable-”
Chapter 12
“Remarkable?!” a fan interjected, her voice brimming with disdain. “Can he even hold a
candle to President Benedict of the Evander
Corporation? Millicent‘ s boyfriend is a man who could rival even him!”
“Millicent wouldn’t lie!” another fan
chimed in fiercely. “These doctors are just covering for that disgraceful Odette, but sisters, we can’t let this slide. Let’s show them what we‘ re made of!”
With a battle cry, the leader of Millicent‘ s fans gestured toward the fire cabinet. Without hesitation, several fans yanked out fire extinguishers, their faces twisted with
resolve.
In an instant, they swung the heavy metal

against the glass wall. The sound of shattering glass erupted through the corridor, the sharp crack reverberating like thunder, sending shards scattering like rain.
The chaos escalated as the mob turned their
attention to Odette‘ s personal introduction and photo displayed on the wall. Knives appeared from their bags, gleaming under the fluorescent lights, and they slashed at her image relentlessly. The once–pristine portrait was now a mess of jagged cuts, each one more vicious than the last. The sight was both chilling and infuriating.
“Notify security and call the police immediately!” the head of the Stomatology Department barked, his voice trembling with urgency as he turned to the head nurse.
Chapter 12
“Director, the hospital president instructed us to contact President Benedict as well,” a
nurse said cautiously, her hands trembling as she handed him the phone.
The head nodded grimly, wasting no time in dialing. His voice was steady but laced with tension as he spoke.
“President Benedict, are you available? There’s a serious disturbance at the hospital. They’ve even slashed Director Clarendon’s photo-”
The moment Benedict heard those words, his grip on the steering wheel tightened, his knuckles whitening. His chest burned with fury as the image of Odette’s defaced photo flashed in his mind.
Chapter 12
Who dared to defile her name, her dignity,
again and again?
“I’ll be there immediately,” Benedict said and ended the call abruptly.
Benedict turned his car around without
hesitation, and his destination was clear: Regency General Hospital. Odette‘ s silence on the phone suddenly made sense. She was caught up in this vile harassment, likely overwhelmed and unable to answer. The
image of her waiting, perhaps even hoping for him to arrive and defend her, fueled his
urgency.
“You‘ re all finished now,” the Stomatology Department head said icily, his glare piercing through the mob. “President Benedict is on

his way.‘

The fan leader sneered, her laughter grating against the tense air. “What president? Do you mean Benedict Evander? You really think he’d come to your little hospital?”
“You clearly don’t know who Director Clarendon’s husband is,” the department head warned his tone sharper now.
The leader waved a dismissive hand. “We don’t need to know. Millicent, call your boyfriend! If he doesn’t dare show up, we’ll all know he’s nothing but a coward!”
Millicent’s nerves wavered for a moment, but the roaring encouragement of her fans gave her a false sense of courage. With trembling fingers, she dialed Benedict‘ s

number. But the call went unanswered,
leaving her with a gnawing sense of doubt.
Ten minutes later, the unmistakable sound of tires screeching to a halt echoed outside the hospital. Benedict had arrived.
The hospital corridor descended into chaos, a cacophony of whispers from worried families mixing with the hateful tirades of Millicent’s fans. Their relentless accusations echoed
against the sterile walls, a storm of hostility that seemed unstoppable. Even the hospital president had been summoned, his presence a desperate attempt to restore order.
“President Benedict, they came here with one purpose, to wreak havoc,” the Stomatology head explained urgently.
Chapter 12
“They‘ ve tarnished Director Clarendon‘ s name and destroyed her photo!”
Spotting the shredded remains of Odette‘ s picture on the wall, Benedict‘ s expression darkened like a brewing storm. His jaw clenched as fury simmered in his gaze.
“Who did this?!” His voice cut through the air like a whip
The room fell silent. His commanding presence cast a shadow over everyone, stifling their defiance. For a brief moment, even the most fearless fans dared not breathe.
Slowly, the crowd parted, revealing Millicent sprawled on the floor, her sobs echoing pitifully in the corridor.
“We…
… we were just defending Millicent!”
Chapter 12
the fan leader stammered, her earlier boldness faltering. “Director Clarendon plagiarized her work and even pushed her down the stairs. Millicent’s boyfriend is on his way, and we… we‘ re not afraid of you!”
