“This letter came in for you. It’s from Axel.”
Draco said as Gabriel raised his eyebrow. His blinked twice and saw that Draco looked every bit very serious.
Axel?!
Gabriel didn’t think he’d hear that name so soon after the summit. In fact, he wasn’t planning to hear it till the next
Alpha’s Summit.
“I picked it up at the office.”
He added. Gabriel looked even more confused. Why was he in his office. What was that important that he had to deliver
to him?
The only interaction that they had was the little row they had at the summit.
“He’s inviting you to dinner, with some talk of an alliance so he can help you bring down Sabine.”
Gabriel scoffed as he wiped his chest. He had decided to take advantage of the fact that he was back in the pack house
to run for a while. He had done so before his meeting with the Elder council. He was planning on returning home as soon
as possible when Draco showed up unexpectedly.
The contents of the letter was the most incredulous thing he had ever heard. Axel talking about an alliance to bring down
Sabine.
“He also wants your reply before the end of today.”
“Why would he want to help? What is that creep up to?!”
His beta shrugged. He was equally as confused. He came to the office to work on some minor tasks and he had found a
message addressed to Gabriel. He had been inclined to ignore it, thinking it was business related till he heard the name
of the messenger. He had thought he heard wrong till he opened the sealed envelope himself. Axel Walker?! He couldn’t
believe his eyes and the contents of the envelope.
He just had to show Gabriel as soon as possible.
“What do you want to do about it? Do you want me to send him a reply on your behalf.”
Gabriel shook his head.
“No. Forget about it.”
He murmured as he crumpled the envelope in his hands.
On his way back home, Gabriel remembered what had happened earlier with Lori. She was unhappy, he could see and
feel it, seeing her cry like that, with nothing he could do to help her out made him feel weaker than he had ever felt. Weak and angry at himself for not being able to find her son for her.
He had consoled her and she had let him inside her mind again, but he still felt that uneasy feeling that that wasn’t all.
There was going to still be more challenges that they would face. He only hoped that they faced it together
Gabriel arrived back at the penthouse to find Lori on the floor, her eyes glued to her laptop. She was still in the pajamas
he had left her in. She looked like she had been there for a few hours. Emilia was in the baby cot next to her, she was
seeping. There were a few papers on the floor and then a few diapers and baby bottles. Gabriel decided not to comment
on the mess.
“What’s going on?”
He asked as he closed the door gently behind him so as to not wake the baby.
Lori looked up and smiled.
“You’re back!”
“Come here!!! I want to show you something.”
She murmured as she beckoned to him.
Gabriel settled next to her, dropping his gym bag and crouched next to her.
“What are you doing.”
“So I was thinking about Sabine, and the best way to bring her down, then I realised we haven’t been attacking her as
much as we should.”
“What do you mean?”
He asked and she pointed to the laptop screen. She was pulling up reports that his pack members had been sending him
on Sabine. Her properties, where they were all located and the hideouts of what was left of her werewolves.
“She has at least twelve properties in America, all of them still standing.”
Gabriel nodded.
“Trust me, my men are watching each and every property she owns. She’s never going back there.”
Lori nodded.
“Exactly. We shouldn’t be doing that, we should be destroying every one of them.”
“I propose that we burn everything she owns, that will send her a clear message.”
Gabriel stared at Lori blankly, there was a wild look in her eyes.
“What exactly is this message meant to convey?”
Lori ignored him and pointed to the laptop again, Gabriel noticed she had eaten her fingers so much that the tips were
red. He didn’t know she ate her fingers.
“And this too… We know the hideouts of her wolves, so why are we letting them walk away freely?”
Gabriel shrugged.
“I don’t know, because they’re innocent?”
Lori sighed.
“And that’s where the problem is. Sabine expects us to play fair! While we are playing fair, she is playing dirty. She killed
Elliot and what did we do? We kept Vara in our cells when we should have sent her head back to her.”
“I am tired of playing fair Gabriel!!!”
“This is war.”
Gabriel smiled, his chest welling with pride.
“You’re right. What else do you have in mind?”
Lori pointed at the laptop screen.
Everything. She had planned everything. They would take away everything Sabine owned. Then capture the rest of her wolves and leave them langusihing in prison. Lori knew she wouldn’t be able to hurt Jck in retun because at least now she was aware that he was valuable commodity to her. She wouldn’t hurt him, not at her expense. But she would lose
everything.
If she was selfish enough to hold on to her son while her own wolves suffered, then Lori would even go lower.
She would wipe out her entire pack if that was all it would take.

“Sabine! Sabine!”
A voice called out.
Sabine roused from her sleep. Mildly angry that someone had chose to wake her.
She had not been sleeping well lately. So when she arrived at Axel’s villa and got a room of her own with its luxury
bedding, she had sunk into the covers and deliciously slept.
The rest of the week had been like that. Axel told her to take a few days to rest before they started discussing their plans
and all and that she did. She took time out to rest.
Everything was going smoothly, at least as smoothly as it could go. What else could she ask for?
She had a safe place to say, a valuable commodity, she has Gabriel and Lori suffering wherever it was they were and she
had a new partner.
“What? What is it?”
She asked as she finally opened her eyes.
Axel had only let her keep two of her men in his villa, claiming the rest would be a security risk to his own pack members.
So she had kept the important ones and sent the rest to hideout for a while.
And the arrangement had worked, because she didn’t actually need them. No, not yet. She was safe and protected in
Axel’s villa where nobody knew.
She was fine.
“Multiple reports from a lot of our werewolves. They’re being captured in droves.”
Sabine sat up.
“What?!”
She exclaimed as she sat upright.
“Where did you get that information?!”
“The ones who are left are being left with a message.”
“What message?!“
She almost screamed and the man plucked out his phone from his pocket, he showed it to her.
All the blood drained from her face.
She was mute.
“That’s… that’s not all…”
Sabine nodded for him to continue.
“I got another report that one of your houses in Ohio was being burnt down. I was skeptical so I had it checked out.
Turned our it was true. Out of suspicion I decided to check to make sure every other place was safe….”
“…but to my dismay I found out we’ve lost three more properties. I have no one left to give me intel on the rest, but I
suspect the same as happened to them.”
Sabine gulped hard.
“This was her doing…”
She whispered quietly.
That bitch Lori.
Oh she was going to kill her with her bare hands.
Out of curiosity she picked up her phone and tried to access her bank accounts.
Her hands started shaking.
“All my accounts are frozen.”
Her subordinate looked at her with despair.
“What do we do? We don’t have that much werewolves in the field, I guarantee they’re probably fleeing to escape
capture.”
“This is a coordinated attack. It’s meant to cripple me.”
She glanced at her subordinate and saw the unspoken answer in his eyes.
It had already crippled her.
“I’ll inform Axel and George Caddel.”
“In the meantime, try to gather the rest of the wolves of our pack you can find. Get them to a safe place.”
“I’ll handle this.”
***************
“You have a message.”
The maid said as she dropped the tray on the coffee table.
Her mistress liked her coffee black.
“From?”
The woman asked, barely looking up from her magazine.
“It arrived at your former address five days ago. Karina was kind enough to send it to me.”
“I see…”
The woman sighed.
If it wasn’t important then Karina wouldn’t have mailed it. She would have just thrashed it like she did to the rest.
“What did it say?!”
The maid hesitated.
The woman glanced at her and the maid started talking.
“It’s from a woman named Astra. She claimed your grandson was in danger.”
“Grandson?!”
The magazine dropped from Ione’s hands as she stared at her maid.
Grandson?!
Impossible.
