Let The Alpha Fall 81

“We have to go!”
“We have to go now Gabriel!”
Lori urged as she jumped out of bed. She didn’t care that she was naked as she ran towards the closet, grabbing the first
pair of jeans and shirt she could see. Gabriel made a quick call, Lori didn’t listen to see who it was but by the time she
turned he was also half dressed.
He looked thoroughly confused.
“Where are we going?!”
He finally asked her amidst the frenzy.
“Elliot is in danger Gabriel. We have to help him. We have to be there before something bad happens…”
She murmured and Gabriel nodded, still mildly confused.
“Do you know where we’re going?”
He asked as calmly as he could muster.
Lori nodded, closing her eyes to remember the location. There was a river… a trail, grass, stone walls.. those were all that
she could remember. Elliot was on the grass, bleeding out.
She explained her dream to him again, specifically focusing on the details of where she had seen him.
Gabriel frowned.
“That sounds like a park… I’m not sure but it could be Confluence park…”
“If we leave soon enough we could check it out.”
“Really? Can we go there now?!”
“Now?!”
Gabriel said as he looked at the time.
“Lori it’s three in the morning. I’m sure the park is closed or something..”
“Gabriel! Elliot is in danger! I can feel it. The dream, it was very real Gabriel. Please!”
She pleaded and Gabriel sighed.
“Fine. But we’re not going without backup.”
He said and Lori nodded.
“Fine. But we are not waiting for backup.”
She started praying that they got there in time as she put on her shoes, Gabriel hurriedly put on a shirt.
Lori grabbed his car keys on the way out of the room, rushing towards the door.
“Let’s go!”
She said urgently and Gabriel followed behind.
Her heart was pounding loudly in her chest. She hoped it was just a dream and nothing more than a dream but the sense
of urgency she was feeling, the way her blood was pounding in her veins… it spelt impending doom. Maybe her
consciousness was trying to tell her something. Maybe she had the power of sight. Maybe that was why she had such
dream.
It could be possible. She didn’t know the full extent of her powers. Gabriel didn’t know either.
The only person who did had left,.
They also had to act fast. Elliot’s mission, as simple as it might have sounded was a dangerous one. And in other
circumstances Lori would have stopped Gabriel from putting him in such danger, but she didn’t because it was related to
the pack laws. Now she wondered whether it was really worth it. If dying was better than being banished from the pack.
Inside the car Gabriel sped up as fast as he could, the roads were near empty… it was still very early. Draco called at least
twice, being the voice of logical reasoning, he seemed to think it was a bad idea that Lori and Gabriel were going to
check it out first… without he or their other men getting there first.
Lori didn’t care who got there first, she just wanted to make sure that Elliot was safe. Safe and sound and far away from
there.
If she managed to get there in time she was going to take him home. Tell Gabriel to forget about the stupid mission. She
didn’t care for Lyle. Sure he had kidnapped her but there should be other ways to find him. Other ways that didn’t involve
Elliot risking his own life.
And Elliot himself didn’t mean to involve himself with his brother. He was young, it was his own brother… what would
Gabriel have him do?!
“You’re angry.”
Gabriel said as he scented her anger in the air. They were both very tense. Lori nodded.
“I’m livid.”
She said and Gabriel nodded.
“He shouldn’t have been out there in the first place Gabriel…”
She said as she shook her head.
Gabriel sighed.
“Elliot’s not a kid. He can handle himself.”
Lori shook her head.
“Not from his psychopathic brother! He can’t!”
“Lyle would never kill his own brother. He’s crazy.. but not that crazy.”
Lori scoffed as she massaged her temple.
He didn’t know that. They didn’t know that.
She thought as she looked out the window.
“We don’t know that Gabriel. He and Sabine lost. They’ll be desperate.”
Gabriel sighed.
There was no way to calm her down…
“We’ll get there in time.”
He reassured her as he placed a hand on her thigh, squeezing softly.
Lori wished she believed him.

“As soon as I get the money and give you your cut. You bolt. Forget that you have a brother and never look back.”
Lyle warned and Elliot nodded.
“Understood.”
So far bringing his brother to Gabriel had proven more difficult than taking a horse to water. Lyle did everything his own
way and wouldn’t listen to a word Elliot said. He was even so skeptical that he even believed they were being followed.
“Forget that you have a brother. And I’ll forget I have one.”
“Ouch.”
Elliot said as he raised his eyebrow.
“Where will you go?!”
He asked and Lyle glared at him.
“Why are you asking?”
“Just curious.”
Lyle shrugged.
“Somewhere far and cold. Away from Gabriel’s grabby paws.”
Alaska? Elliot thought as he tilted his head.
After they finished at the bar Lyle had gotten a text from the person who owed him money. The man was ready to give
him his money but stated that they should wait for him at Confluence park at a particular time that Lyle had chosen to
hide from him. Lyle had tried to get Elliot to stop following him but Elliot didn’t leave his side. He stuck to the story that
he had no money and no where else to go.
Finally Lyle gave in and promised Elliot a cut out of the money as long as he disappeared from his life. They decided to
go to the park early. As early as they could to scout the area before Lyle’s contact came with the money.
Elliot found it way too extra but he wasn’t complaining. He was tired though… few hours with his brother and he was
already exhausted.
They had stopped at another underground overnight bar for only drinks and to lay low for a while before they left for the
park.
Lyle didn’t even let him order food because he was too paranoid about them being seen. They stayed in the shadows
while he watched everyone coming in and out of the bar like a hawk.
He seemed very certain that he was being followed but couldn’t find anything to support his claim.
At the park they did at least two laps around the perimeter, slyly staying away from the sleeping guards. It looked safe. It
looked guarded, no foul play.
“Can we go now?”
He asked and Lyle shook his head.
“Actually no. We’ll stay here till he arrives. Only a few hours more.”
Elliot’s jaw dropped.
“Few hours?! It’s almost four in the morning!”
Lyle shrugged.
“And so what?! Listen, just a few more hours and we can both go out separate ways and you can…”
Lyle paused mid sentence. His keen ear sensing movement nearby.
He had the feeling they were being followed ever since the bar, but with every hour he doubted himself because he
couldn’t find any clue to suggest that he was being followed. His guts were never wrong and he had been as careful as he
could have been.
Whoever was following him must have been a werewolf too, they must have known his scent enough to track him from a
distance.
A very seasoned werewolf then. No ordinary werewolf.
“What?”
Elliot whispered and Lyle put a hand to his lips.
“Shhh.”
He warned.
It all happened so fast. A woman came jumping from the tress, lunging for Lyle and Lyle ducked as fast as he could,
rolling in the grass in the process.
Elliot kept a respectable distance, seeing that it was Vara, she was probably after Lyle, not him.
“You?!”
Lyle seethed as he stood to his feet, putting a considerable amount of distance between them as Vara spat out dirt.
“Yes me. Did you miss me?”
She grinned.
“Why the fuck are you following me?!”
Lyle asked and Vara shrugged.
“Is that a trick question?!”
She asked as she tilted her head.
“Good thing you’re alone. I’m going to finally enjoy ripping you apart.”
Lyle smirked as he tore his shirt off.
Elliot watched in horror and fascination as his brother transformed in the blink of an eye and made a beeline for Vara.
Vara was in close range, she had not expected him to turn so fast, so quickly. She struggled to pull the gun from it’s
holster but it was stuck, by the time she finally succeeded, Lyle was inches away from her and he tackled her down.
Vara sharpened her claws, tearing at his snout with all her might. The gun had fallen to her side.
Elliot watched the two of them on the floor, both of them struggling for the upper hand. Lyle in his wolf form, a terrifying
gray beast with gigantic teeth, Vara, equally as ferocious with half her face contorted in rage, her sharp claws stung deep
as they dragged across his brother’s fur.
Lyle howled in pain and Elliot knew he had to do something. He couldn’t just stay and watch them.
He didn’t have a lot of wolf training, not any experience in combat but if he could at least get the gun away from Vara
and point it to her, that would disarm her for a while.
He ran towards the gun.
Vara caught him, her sharp eyes missing nothing. She disabled Lyle with a punch to the jaw, sparing a few seconds to roll
over him and grabbed the gun.
She aimed at Elliot and pulled the trigger.
******************
“No!!!!”
Lori screamed as she ran across the park. They were barely three minutes when Gabriel confirmed he could smell werewolves in the air. Specifically Elliot.
They ran towards his scent. That was until they heard the gunshot.
Lori screamed as she ran towards the sound of the gunshot. Gabriel ran after her, wishing she would slow down.
It was a horrible sight.
Elliot on his knees, one hand to his chest , the blood on his shirt spreading.
Lori didn’t even care to look at the wolf and the woman a few feet away from him. Gabriel went after them while she
rushed towards Elliot.
“Elliot! Elliot.”
She cried as she held him.
He looked up at her and smiled weakly.
He collapsed in her arms, Lori pulled him closer.
Oh gods.
It was bad.
It was really bad.
Ordinary bullets didn’t kill wolves, but silver did. And it looked like Vara had just shot one right into Elliot’s heart.
“Lori.”
He croaked, coughing up blood in the process.
Lori’s eyes blurred with tears.
“You’ll be fine!!! Stay awake.”
“Stay awake!!”
She pleaded as she stretched out her wrist.
“My blood. It can help. It can heal you!”
“Bite me Elliot.”
She shoved her wrist towards his mouth and Elliot slowly shook his head.
“It’s… it’s too late Lori.”
Lori shook her head.
“No. No! It’s not.”
She turned her wrist to her lips and bit it herself. She didn’t even wince at the pain.
The blood gushed out from her vein and she pushed it towards Elliot’s mouth.
Elliot shook his head again.
“Drink please.”
“Elliot please drink.”
She pleased as she forced it into his mouth.
Elliot’s eyes were opened.
Lifeless.
Almost as if he wasn’t there anymore.
“Elliot please.”
She sobbed as she pushed it further into his mouth.
Just like she had dreamed.
Blood, all over her hands, all over the grass, Elliot, lifeless in her arms.
It had come true.
Elliot was
