Chapter 25 The Legendary Actor
He was her dream man, her idol–Chace, the legendary actor!
Lara’s eyes sparkled with excitement as she gazed at him. With a slight smirk, Chace extended his hand to shake hers.
It wasn’t until they were seated across from each other that Lara truly felt like she was in a dream. Just a short while ago, she had believed that the only way she’d ever see Chace in person was by chasing her dreams in the entertainment industry.
Yet, out of nowhere, fate had placed her here.
Chace’s hands were mesmerizing–his fingers long and slender, with well–defined knuckles. Unlike the rough hands of most men, his were smooth and pale, yet undeniably masculine.
Lara was all nerves. Soon, her idol would be teaching her pottery. This moment alone was enough to fuel her dreams for a lifetime.
Kelly had been sent by Donovan to visit a well–known pottery shop and find its owner.
Mayer Group had launched a new variety show featuring a handicrafts segment, and they wanted to invite the popular owner of an online pottery shop as a guest.
As Kelly stepped inside, he realized the young woman sitting there looked oddly familiar.

Hugo had heard the news earlier that morning. When he saw Kelly approaching, he rinsed his hands and led his discuss the offer.
He agreed to appear on Mayer Group’s show.
Kelly, ever the seasoned manager, kept his surprise and curiosity in,check. Still, Hugo knew his brother was, first and foremost, an actor. If word got out about this, it could stir unnecessary gossip.
With a chuckle, Hugo explained, “Chace is my brother. He helps out here when things get busy.”
The Drawlord family had a long history in pottery. Hugo had followed in their father’s footsteps, while Chace, the more academically inclined of the two, had taken a different path. A twist of fate had led to his discovery by a talent scout. launching his career in entertainment.
Kelly quickly grasped the situation and gave Donovan a full report.
Lara presented the cup she had made with Chace and, in return, asked for an autographed photo. Chace studied her for a moment before asking, “Have you ever acted in The Sovereign?”
That sense of familiarity had been nagging at him.
Lara hadn’t expected Chace to recognize The Sovereign, but she nodded eagerly, “I played Elizabeth.”
In The Sovereign, Elizabeth had been a tragic figure–one that Chace had never forgotten.
Seeing Chace up close only deepened Lara’s determination to enter the entertainment industry. Her dream was to star in a film with him one day.
Meanwhile, at the Ross residence, Billy, Mary, and Oscar, were waiting for Laru.
The moment Lara stepped inside, she sensed the tension in the air. Normally, she was treated like a little princess in this household. But this time, all three of them had grim expressions.
Her mother’s face was a little softer, but that didn’t ease the heaviness in the room. Without hesitation, Lara went to her mother. “Mom”

Billy spoke first. “Your brother has already arranged a position for you at the company. There’s nothing more to discuss–you start work tomorrow,”
Oscar added, “Tll take you there.”
Lara buried her face in her mother’s arm, her voice muffled. “No, I’m signing a contract with Mayer Group.”
“This is my dream,” she insisted, a trace of frustration creeping into her voice.
Mary sighed. “If you choose to be an actress, you’ll be traveling all the time. We won’t know what kind of conditions you’ll be working in. What if something like last time happens again…”
She trailed off, unable to continue.
The last incident had nearly cost Lara her life. Mary only had this one precious daughter. If anything ever happened to her, she wouldn’t know how to go on. The more she thought about it, the more fearful she became.
Lara scratched her head. Honestly, she couldn’t remember much about that last mishap. After nearly drowning, everything had been a blur. For a long time, her memory had been a blank slate. Only gradually had she begun recalling bits and pier
Clinging to her mother’s neck, Lara pleaded, “The company will assign me a manager and an go to work doesn’t mean I’ll stop driving. People can get into accidents while driving too, right?”

Mary raised a hand as if to slap her, and Lara immediately flinched. “Did I say something wrong? I won’t argue anymore don’t get physical, Mom!”
Her mother was always so graceful–except when it came to Lara
“Oscar.” Billy, after a long silence, finally spoke again. “Keep your sister inside. If she wants to be a star, she doesnt leave tin house. End of discussion.”
He took Mary’s hand, signaling that the matter was settled.
Lara stomped her foot and turned to Oscar with a pitiful expression. “Oscar, you can’t do this to me! I’m your little sister”
Oscar grabbed her by the back of the neck. “If you weren’t my little sister, I wouldn’t even be dealing with you.”
And just like that, Lara was locked
- up.
She lay sprawled out on the bed, utterly bored. With a sigh, she sat up and searched for a horror movie to cast onto the big screen. She cranked up the volume so loud that the eerie sounds filled the entire hallway.
In every way, Lara was like any other young woman–except when it came to fear. She had almost none.
Oscar shook his head at her antics, then instructed the housekeeper to prepare her favorite beef stew. She’d become obsessed with it this year, even though she never used to care for it before.
Watching the movie made Lara drowsy. Hugging her knees, she teetered on the edge of sleep.
Somewhere in her half–dreaming state, Chace’s face appeared before her. His handsome features looked mischievous, as if he was up to no good. With her eyes still closed, she chuckled to herself, until the sound of her own laughter startled her awake.
The television had already switched to another show. Groggily, Lara picked up the remote and turned it off. Lately, Chace hadn’t updated his social media. She wondered what he was up to.
Not long after, the housekeeper came to call her for dinner. Lara remained silent.
Her brother had locked her in, and there was no way for her to escape. But nobody could stop her from going on a hunger. strike. Her parents weren’t wrong to worry. But she had no interest in working at the company.
A life that had already been mapped out for her was too predictable and too dull. Lara had never been one for dull things
