We decided to stay a while and write our script
there.
Apart from the script, I also got addicted to sea
fiching and ofton took my notch to the docke
<
fishing, and often took my catch to the docks
to sell. One day, Sarah and I were trying to
bargain with a cheap old man for one of my
fish.
Then, I heard a voice I knew too well.
“I’ll buy all the seafood.”
Greg was right in front of me.
He stared at me, his eyes full of love and
sadness, and he said softly, as if afraid to break
a dream, “Kate, I’ve finally found you.”
Before I could say a word, Sarah was all over
him, screaming, “You! What are you doing
here? Didn’t you hurt her enough? Get lost! We
wouldn’t sell anything to you, not even for you
to feed your dog!”
Greg, such a proud man, was getting yelled at,
but he didn’t say a thing. He just looked at me
with guilt and begged, “Kate, I know I’m a
monster, I’m so sorry. Can we talk, just us?”
I said coldly, “Greg, you and me are never
gonna talk alone again.”
“You don’t need to apologize, just go.”
Greg was shaking his head. “No, Kate. I just got
here, I won’t let you go. I didn’t sign the divorce
papers, so you’re still my wife.”
Sarah was ready to punch him in the face but I
held her back, I didn’t want to get her hands
dirty.
I turned to Greg and laughed, “What do you
want? Do you want me to come home and be
your wife again? Greg, I’ve lost eight children,
and I can’t have anymore. I can’t be the source
of life for your Ashley. She must have already
had your son by now. What are you doing
here?”
Greg’s face was pale. “No, Kate. I never meant
to hurt you.”
“I never gave her our kid’s bodies. She bribed
the people who worked for me just to mess
with you, I would never do something like
that…”
I cut him off with a laugh. “So, if it wasn’t you,
then you’re innocent? And that means I should
forgive you?”
“She stole my children’s bodies, but you were
the one who killed them all. You think this is
<
some joke?”
Greg’s eyes were full of guilt. “Kate, I’m sorry, I
really screwed up.”
“I got rid of Ashley’s baby, she’ll never be a
problem for us again, and if you want, I can be
the CEO again. Just say you want to come back
to me, and I’ll do anything.”
I looked him in the eyes as he cried, “Then go
die.”
“What?”
Greg stopped, staring at me, his eyes wide with
disbelief.
“You just said you’d do anything for me? Then
go die. Go to hell for killing my babies.”
For the first time, Greg looked like he didn’t
know what to do.
“Kate, you hate me this much?”
“Yes! I hate you, and I hate everything about
you, just seeing you makes me want to throw
up! So, get as far away from me as possible,
understand?”
Greg looked like he had been hit by a truck, as
he knelt on the ground, crying his eyes out.
<
I looked at him, my heart empty.
“Greg, when I married you, I thought it was
forever. But what did you do? For Ashley, you
killed my babies again and again, watching my
body get weaker and weaker. And you let your
mother and all of our friends make fun of me.”
“Even then, I begged you. I begged you to not
let me drink that milk, but you forced me.”
“I never cared about being the CEO’s wife. It
didn’t matter to me if you were rich or poor, I
just wanted us to be a family. If you had just
told me, I would have left you and taken my children with me. But you didn’t say a thing,
you just went ahead and took away my chance
to be a mother, you made me live through all the pain of losing a child over and over again.” “Greg, you know what? You never saw me as
human.”
Greg was shaking his head, tears flowing. “No,
no it wasn’t like that…
“”
“Greg, I’m doing fine now. Being away from you makes me so free and happy. If you really want to make it up to me, you need to sign those

papers and never look at me again.”
Then, I turned and walked away.
Sarah dumped the whole basket of seafood over Greg’s head, and smashed the basket on his head.
“Greg, if you’re a decent human being, you’ll
leave Kate alone! Don’t ever come near her again!”
Greg knelt there for hours, while people pointed and stared. He finally walked away, exhausted and defeated.
The next day, I found the divorce papers by my door. Greg had signed them.
A few days later, I found a huge pile of money
in my account, it was several millions.
Sarah came running, holding up her phone, with a shocked look.
There were headlines flashing across the
screen.
“The Body of Greg Group’s missing daughter- in–law Ashley M. is Found in Husband’s Uncle’s
Basement. Body mutilated, with signs of a C-
section, while the fetus is missing. Also
discovered in the stomach of the cornco aro
discovered in the stomach of the corpse are some remains, suspected of being…”
“Greg Group CEO, Greg, turned himself in, confessing to killing his daughter–in–law. He also confessed to giving his wife abortion pills multiple times.”
“The trial is over. Greg has been sentenced to death. His parents were discovered
unconscious and rushed to XXX hospital. Mark is now the new CEO, with a huge drop in the
company’s stock…”
Sarah was in shock. “Greg just lost it, huh?”
I looked at my account balance, and didn’t say
a word.
I kept the money, and I set up a foundation for
kids. Maybe that was the best way to honor my
children, wishing them all a better life the next
time around.
The script went smoothly, and Sarah and I had
made a fortune, celebrating with some drinks at
home.
When she was drunk, she asked me, “Greg’s
dead. Do you feel sad?”
Through the haze of alcohol I thought LoowZ
Through the haze of alcohol, I thought I saw a picture of us at our wedding, our heads close together, looking forward to the future.
Then I blinked, realizing it was a drunken
hallucination.
I shook my head, smiling a sad, tipsy smile.
“We can’t go back. Let’s just move forward.”
(The End)
