Hasel was a bit taken aback.
She and George could’ve talked about it, but they always acted like it didn’t matter. Now, out of the blue, George brought it up.
“Don’t tell me there’s no reason. George cut her off before she could say anything. I can tell you’re a bit off.”
It was a clear warning for Hazel not to lie.
Hazel was at a loss for words and tried to dodge the topic.
George said, “I’ve been chasing you all this time.”
Hazel shot back, “I didn’t know that I don’t believe in love anymore, and I don’t trust men. Plus, I already turned you down before.”

George wanted to be sure, and Hazel looked up slightly, kind of agreeing with him.
It made sense. George was a risky guy, and it was better to keep things cool with him.
“Is it because I didn’t make you feel safe enough?” Gorge reflected. “Don’t worry, I’ll try to keep my emotions in check from now on.”

Hazel was speechless. These two choices were basically the same thing.
“Yes.” George seemed to read her mind, nodding. “So, which one do you want, My, Astor?”
“Mr. York, you’ll regret this later,” Hazel didn’t want to keep arguing. Some things didn’t need to be spelled out.
“I already regret it,” George said.
“What?” Hazel was speechless again.
“I need to use the restroom,” George suddenly said.
After helping him, Hazel left the hospital late.
She got a call from Aiden, saying Ash and Caspian would hand in their resignation letters tomorrow. They’d also visit George in the hospital to apologize and make amends.
Early the next morning, Hazel got Ash and Caspian’s resignation letters, George tested her saying Aiden took them to the hospital and they paid him a hefty sum. Hazel then called her secretary. Tell everyone there’s a senior management meeting in half an hour. No one should miss it. Also, have Executive Director Ms. Astor come to my office.”

After yesterday’s drama, Bianca quickly bounced back and was ready to go today.
She was even pumped up, already plotting her next move. But Hazel calling her in made her a bit uneasy.
From what she knew about Hazel, Blanca figured she was always out for revenge. So, Hazel calling her to the office alone probably meant trouble mort yesterday’s events.
Bianca tried to keep her cool and sat across from Hazel. “Hazel, you needed me?
“Yeah, there are some work things I need you to handle. I just got Ash and Caspian’s resignation letters, and I’ve approved them. I need you to take care of the process,” Hazel said, and Bianca already knew. “Their leaving is pretty sudden, so no one’s in charge of the clothing production for the next quarter. Everythings piling up. You used to be a supervisor in the design department and worked closely with production. So, I want you to take over the next quarter’s clothing production. Any questions?
Blanca was a bit surprised and looked up at her, trying to figure out what she was thinking
She thought Hazel called her in to talk about yesterday’s hospital drama.
She didn’t believe Hazel hadn’t seen through her intentions, as she had made them pretty obvious. But Hazel didn’t even bring it up.
It seemed like Hazel didn’t care much. After all, she knew that any guy would he wrapped around Bianca’s finger
But why was Hazel now talking about work stuff? And why let Bianca take charge of the nest quarters production after going through all that trouble to get rid of Caspian and Ash?
Hazel should know that Caspian and Ash were Aiden’s trusted guys, but now she wanted Bianca to work for her.
It didn’t make any sense.
Blanca couldn’t figure it out and thought Hazel was losing it.
But she was smart enough not to agree right away, worried it might be a trap.
Maybe Hazel just wanted to keep her busy with work so she wouldn’t have time to mess with George?
As far as Blanca knew, Hazel had been at the hospital all day yesterday and left really lane. Was she going back to the hospital today?

“Got it.” Bianca left, feeling puzzled, and deliberately slowed her steps. Hazel really didn’t mention yesterday’s events. Did she really not care?
