Chapter 11
After a while, Alpha Joseph’s mother arrived in a hurry, bringing a small army of pack members behind her.
The moment she saw Alpha Joseph lying in a pool of blood, on the verge of death, she rushed over frantically.
“Joseph!” she shrieked, shoving Alpha Leonard’s bodyguards aside like they were pesky gnats. She dropped to her knees, cradling alpha Joseph’s head. Her eyes then snapped to Alpha Leonard, and trust me, if looks could kill, we’d be attending Leonard’s funeral for real.
“Alpha Leonard, what do you think you’re doing?!” she hissed, her voice sharp enough to cut glass.

Alpha Leonard, standing tall and as unbothered as ever.
“Teaching him a lesson,” he said smoothly. “Sis–in–law, your precious boy harass my luna and curse me to death. I’m sure you agree that such behavior requires correction…
“7
“unless, of course, that’s what you’ve been teaching him at home?”
Alpha Leonard narrowed his eyes at her.
Alpha Joseph’s mother was caught off guard, stunned by his words.
Clenching her fists, she trembled with suppressed anger, forcing a smile that looked more painful than crying.
“It… it was Joseph’s mistake,” she said, her

voice trembling with suppressed fury. “Thank you for… educating him. I’ll make sure he learns his manners once we’re home.”
“Mom! Alpha Joseph’s been beaten like this. We can’t just let this go! We need to get justice for him!”
Omega Amanda shouted angrily, but Alpha Joseph’s mother immediately silenced her with a sharp glare.
“Shut up!”
Alpha Joseph’s mother hissed, her eyes cold.
Omega Amanda immediately fell silent, scared into obedience.
In the end, Alpha Joseph’s family did nothing, swallowing their humiliation as they carried away the barely–breathing Alpha

Joseph.
Later, I heard that when Alpha Joseph woke up, he discovered that half of his teeth were knocked out, one of his legs was crippled, and, most crucially, his most treasured asset could no longer function.
The young master of the Cantrells sought out famous doctors to treat his impotence, becoming the laughing stock of Blue Rock Pack.
Alpha Joseph couldn’t accept the humiliation, vowing to kill me and Alpha Leonard, threatening to torment us until we wished for death.
His mother, in turn, sped up her actions and even had spies send Wolfsbane to Alpha Leonard.

But we had a plan of our own.
That night, Alpha Leonard sat across from me in his office, a steaming cup of coffee in his hand.
“They’ll use Wolfsbane,” he said matter–of–factly, Smell the coffee.
“Of course they will,” I replied. “Because poison is such a classic Cantrell move.”
His lips twitched in amusement.
“Let them try,” he said, sliding the cup toward
- me.
I sniffed the coffee. Wolfsbane. A bold dose too. If I weren’t so worried about him, I might’ve been impressed by their efficiency.

When Alpha Leonard pretended to drink the Wolfsbane coffee and dramatically coughed up blood, my heart nearly stopped–despite knowing it was part of the plan.
He tapped my hand under the table, his signal for “Relax, it’s all fake.”
I threw myself into my role like my life depended on it.
“Alpha Leonard!” I shrieked, clutching his arm. “Stay with me! You can’t die on me now!”
Things unfolded quickly. Alpha Leonard was sent to the pack hospital, and soon after, he was declared “dead due to failed resuscitation.”
A somber announcement to the Blue Rock

Pack.
The Cantrells fell for it hook, line, and disinker.
When Alpha Joseph and Omega Amandala barged into the packhouse later that day,vt it was all I could do not to roll my eyes.
Alpha Joseph, leaning on a cane and wearingg a look that screamed “villain in a bad soap p opera, glared at me like I was the source of of all his problems.
“Damned woman, it’s about time you fell into o my hands!”
“This time, I’m going to deal with you. First, I’ll take you, then anguish you, and finally, throw you into the red–light district!”
I pretended to be terrified.

“What are you going to do?! This is my house, get out of here now!”
Omega Amanda immediately sneered.
“Your house?! This is the Blue Rock Packhouse! Alpha Leonard, that cripple, is dead! Everything here belongs to Alpha Joseph now!”
Saying that, she clung to Alpha Joseph’s
arm.
“Alpha Joseph, hurry up and kill her. She ruined you like this, you have to make her pay!”
Alpha Joseph yanked his arm away, his voice harsh as he snapped at her.
“Who needs you to tell me?!”

Alpha Joseph turned his cold eyes back on
- me.
“Luna Britney, stop struggling. Alpha
Leonard’s dead, you watched him die! Now everything in the Blue Rock Pack belongs to me! Including you!”
