“Of all the times to die, why did it have to be before Rose and Sebastian completed their marking ceremony? This is just bad luck!”
My adoptive mother’s eyes were red, and she sighed without saying a word.
But Rose, instead of sadness, was practically glowing with excitement. She looked at her father with eager anticipation.
“Dad, Luka’s funeral hasn’t been held yet. How about we postpone my marking ceremony with Sebastian?”
