I stood silently behind the massive oak tree that bordered the training grounds. I locked my gaze onto the center of the field, where Claire was training with a group of pack members. I specifically requested her to spar with the young members to help me gauge her body. But I was surprised to watch her movements fluid, sharp,
graceful, and with accurate precision. I would consider her impressive if I didn’t know she had an injury.
Most of the pack members, even me, thought that Claire was a fragile, sweet, and innocent omega who needed constant protection. It was how she had always presented herself, and the pack never doubted it. They
doted on her, rushed to her aid whenever she needed help, and reported to me that she always suffered a fatal injury. I even

a healer. But now, I think I know better.
My lips pressed into a thin line as I continued to watch her. Claire wasn’t fragile at all. She was one of the most skilled and ruthless fighters when she wanted to be. Her strikes were perfect, her footwork impeccable, but she hid that skill from everyone except the weakest omegas. Nevea must have witnessed her doing the same thing.
Suddenly, Claire stumbled in the middle of a routine drill and cried as she clutched her ankle. My eyes narrowed. It was right on cue. As expected, two younger pack members immediately rushed to her side. They were the newer recruits to be one of the warriors, barely old enough to train. They looked at Claire with worry and concerned eyes.
“Claire are you okay?” one of the girls asked, her voice trembling.

“I think I twisted it,” she said, her voice soft and pitiful.
“I’ll be fine, though. I just need a moment.”
The young recruits exchanged glances, unsure of what to do. One of them
hesitated before offering Claire her arm for support. Claire accepted and leaned
heavily on the girl as she limped toward the edge of the training field.
I clenched my jaw, trying to control my temper. I had seen this scene several times while doing my rounds at the training grounds. However, now I see through. Claire’s act. But what infuriated me the
most was what happened next.
The training ended due to her injury, and her demeanor suddenly changed. Gone was the sweet, delicate omega who needed protecting. Claire stood cold with a smirk

curled on her lips as she watched the recruits she had tricked earlier. She sauntered to the two who had helped her with a disdainful expression. I remained in the shadows, watching closely while my muscles tensed, anticipating what would happen next.
“You think that was good enough?” Claire said with a sharp voice.

The second girl looked down, her face flushing with embarrassment and hurt. They were too afraid to speak and to stand up to Claire. She had that effect on people – she manipulated them, twisted their insecurities, and used her position to make herself untouchable. But today, she would no longer be untouchable.
My patience had finally worn out. I knew Claire had that childish behavior, but I just let it slide. I still had a duty to take care of her, not just as an Alpha but as respect to her dead mother. My father had specifically instructed me to watch over her and be there for her whenever she needed someone. But with what I
witnessed now, I guess I had done more than enough. It was time for Claire to have some growing up.
Later that evening, I called the two young recruits to my office. They entered hesitantly, and their eyes wide with

“Come in,” I instructed, firm but gentle.
I motioned for them to sit in front of my desk. Silence at first filled the room as I studied them. Why were they so afraid? It was the younger one who spoke first and broke the silence.
“Alpha Kai, we haven’t done anything wrong. I swear, we didn’t. And so why are we summoned here?”
“You didn’t do anything wrong,” I reassured her, smiling.
“I need you to tell me what happened with Claire today. Don’t be afraid to tell me the truth.”
The girl looked down at her hands, her fingers fidgeting nervously in her lap.
“She… she told us we were weak. That we didn’t belong in the pack,” she said quietly.
